so ive always liked sword and dagger but I seem to just suck with it. I took on a warrior yesterday and i simply could not do enough damage to kill him. im mostly zerker with PTV gear also. Got a nice whoopin by the same guy 4 times. Between my Mes and Thief I simply cannot kill Warriors anymore

What kind of build do you use? I use 0/30/0/25/15 for a fully evade-based build. I run off-set P/D. Aside from CnD and SR (if I trait it) I don’t use stealth. This took me a while to get used to. I dusted off my thf from 6 months ago and bi-passed D/P since I didn’t want any OP-guilt (of course now ppl credit my wins to ini and spamming…w/e).
Anyway, I still have trouble with certain classes, but guardian and warrior make for some really fun fights (I think for them too because they can see me).
I suppose to answer your question, you would have to elaborate on what weps the war was using. If he was GS, you just stick and move. S/P is’t the “meta” but it makes 100 blades a joke.
You have to constantly blind and bleed the Warrior, else, yeah, you’ll die.
S/D+P/P is a great weapon set combination to do just that, that’s why these are the sets I carry.
And no matter what build you choose, you have to have 30 in CS, else it’ll be very difficult to kill anything.

I use all different builds, I always switch it around. I tried this famous 0/20/30/20/ lately and im not doing enough damage to kill a warrior, they regen it right back. I was doing fine with daggers going 10/30/30… well for the most part, but i prefer sword over dagger in main hand. The Warrior that gave me the high level beat down use axe/mace Hammer. I could do NOTHING against this guy oddly. I broke out my mesmer and almost downed him twice but he came back with a vengeance. I dont know, im def doing something wrong but with S/D I feel so weak not using 10/30/30, but I feel stealth isnt optimal for a Sword build
Its really just the healing getting to me. I used to SB warriors down and finish them off however was best, but the SB nerfs made it suck. Plus with 2/30/20 im hitting for 900-1.5k, and they are regenning a little less than that. By the time one stun is off of me they are back are full health smh

Well, I can certainly help you fairly easily with sPvP.
It’d be easier if I knew your build, but, aside from that, some standard tips:
- Have high initiative regeneration. Warriors can hit like a truck if you aren’t careful, so you’ll want to be using FS often. Also, since a lot of them carry some very nice boons, LS is something that you absolutely have to land.
- Dat Eviscerate. Evade it and you’ll be okay. ’Nuff said.
- Run a lot of stunbreakers. For example, all of my utilities are stun breakers (Infi Signet, Shadowstep, and Roll for Init). Of course, you don’t have to go that far, but you get the idea. Getting stunned for 2-3 seconds can be extremely ugly if you don’t respond fast to get out of the situation.
- Shortbow is an absolutely godly weapon to have on you, provided that you stay at a far enough range from the warrior to avoid melee damage at all times. Otherwise, just spam 1 and CB while allowing your initiative to regenerate, and once it has regenerated to a significant level, swap back to sword and beat the living hell out of that warrior.
- Be careful with your steal. It’s extremely powerful, but you don’t want to just be standing there and allowing yourself to get stunned and then blown to pieces. I do believe, however, that you can evade without interrupting the action, so evade often to be able to catch up with warriors trying to run away from your whirling tornado of death or to evade warriors who are planning some nasty stuns. Also, while using the steal, try to stay at your opponent’s side or back as long as physically possible.
- Try to put down a good Shadow Return far away from your opponent early and often. If your duel gets too close to the SR, just start backing away from it, and drawing the warrior away from the point.
So yeah, that’s some basic advice for you. Hope it helps!

That is the typical scenario when facing KD Warrior, that’s why it is important to use blind. Bleed is effective in countering their heal. Stack bleed with Poison, it became more than they can handle.
With P/P as your off weapon set, you have access to constant bleed and blind and really good at applying pressure.
If they pop vengeance, simply use your Sword #2 or Dancing Daggers and watch how helpless they are until the vengeance effect wears off.

No. No it isn’t.
Especially if you’re running PVT gear. You don’t need that extra toughness to boost you up.
So, since you’re running S/D, I’d suggest one of the following builds:
Jumper’s Build. I personally disagree with it (and have gotten a heck of a lot of hate for it), but it’s the build most people would suggest to you, and since I’d rather come across unbiased against this build, I feel that I must suggest it to you.
This is my S/D build. It comes in two flavors, the equivalent of the “vanilla” flavor (soldier’s amulet w/ zerker jewel), or the “strawberry” flavor (zerker amulet w/ zerker jewel). You can try both of them out, they both work well, albeit for different situations. Personally, I’m a strong believer in the idea that the regular build is the stronger one overall, but for certain situations the zerker build is going to be stronger.
So try both of those out. You can always take variations on them as well. For example, Jumper’s build can be turned from 0/30/0/30/10 to the fairly common variant of 10/30/0/30/0. I’ve also seen builds like 0/30/0/25/15, and so forth. As for my build, you can try all different kinds of utility combinations and see how you like them. If you’re shooting for what’s popular, Jumper’s is obviously going to be the more well-known one, although whether or not his build is well-known for good reasons… Well, that depends on who you talk to.
If you’re going for a dual S/D build, Jumper’s build is the way to go. If you’re going for an S/D, SB build, I would suggest trying out my build.
Anyways, try out these builds in sPvP and see how you like them. If you want to know the WvW variations on them, then just ask for them and I’ll give them to you as soon as possible.
