So thief caltrops + poison build = failure. (bug)
Did you put in a bug report or did you just create this thread?
I can’t even tell whether it’s intended or a bug.

Caltrops that use up a poison counter without activating a poison sounds like nothing but a bug.
Go go bug report, and take some deep breaths. This thread reads as over the top ragey.
Edt: To be honest it’s quite a clever idea, having caltrops trigger an immobilise venom, or something, to keep them on the trops for longer
+1 for idea

It’s not just poisons, it’s all the venoms. I’ve already posted this as an issue in the bugs thread at the top of the forum. However, whether or not Anet will see it or even acknowledge this as an issue, is unknown.

I just tested the combo and… lol if it’s weird.
If you use caltrops (the skill OR the dodging trait) while moving FORWARD (with autorun or using W), the poisons won’t go away. They go away if you dodge while moving in any other direction (diagonals included, so W+A or W+D both cancel the poisons).
And I think this is proof enough to categorize this as a huge bug.
The way venoms work is just god awful as it stands now. The fact they disappear without connecting is just awful especially when we have a trait skill. They should have a flat duration to last. END OF STORY.
