That’s an interesting setup. Is it something like 10/0/30/0/30? It hits a little harder than I would expect.

Looks like 10/0/30/0/30 from what I can tell.
For Deadly Arts, he took mug. You can also see poison on steal, which is the 5-pt minor trait for this. He also heals on steal.
For Shadow Arts, he took blind on stealth, condition removal, and heal while in stealth.
For Trickery, he took buff gain on steal (thrill of the crime), steal range (I think…), and daze on steal.
Fire sigil on one of the weapons.
Full Lyssa’s as you can see when he uses his Basilisk Venom and Withdraw.
Can’t comment on the gear set, but it’s definitely not full valk or soldier as you can see from his unbuffed health. Also little to no condition damage added. Maybe a mix of berserker’s with soldier’s, assassin’s, or valkyrie’s?

Anyways, that was extremely impressive and entertaining. It’s good to see quality videos coming out of SoS.

If OP’s still with us, is there anything specific about Lyssa that made you take it over other runes like Divinity, Traveler, or Scholar (I guess this one isn’t ideal for S/D)?

At first glance, I thought OP was my old pal Xeviel.

I took Lyssa over all because of the condi meta. Since everyone is using condi the lyssa runes prove to be very clutch in certain moments since they clear all condis when using your elite. The boons it gives is also a plus, you did guess the build right but the armor is zerker with a mix of Cavalier and Zerker Trinkets, since my vit is so low I try to make up for it by getting more toughness and being able to tank a little more dmg.

Xeviel was a friend of mine :P. We’ve always looked alike but sadly he stopped playing.

Yeah I miss him =( how much tough/armor were you shooting for, and what foods were you using? Stacking perception or?

didnt watch yet but i hear its d/p vs s/d? s/d is ok to play against d/p bc thers no stuns or knockbacks or knockdowns ….. no long dazes. the nerf on IR doesnt come into play.

In my opinion, it’s more beneficial to your team to use Fire sigil instead of Air when using Sword to maintain AoE cleave, while Lightning is purely single target and thus synergies well with Dagger mainhand for increased single-target damage.

I agree with Viking. Superior Sigil of Fire is better imo also, I use perception and Fire on my Sword and Dagger.

Since Arkadius is also on SoS I have discussed builds with him a little, he seems to like having high dps over decent dps and survivabillity. Arkadius switches his builds around and we don’t run the same thing, but he has asked me for my build and I gladly showed him.

Wow I didn’t think I’d see a quality WvW clip of a Thief again.

But this is some quality stuff.

At first I was thinking he’d just cheese around by spaming Dodge. After all S/D is one of our strongest 1v1 specs. But this guy is excellent with his timings, his evades and weapon switches.

Extremely quick reflexes too, I’m honestly impressed.

To be honest after looking at your build / weapon set I kind of dismissed the video, I did end up watching it and was presently surprised. Good stuff with a weird setup.

Great video! Makes me want to fulltime sword (which I often end up doing in pve anyway for survivability reasons).

Also curious about your setup, noticed your other set is p/d. Care to explain your thought process? I’ve never considered it.

I use p/d because I like to have range at some points and sb isn’t very fun for me, plus with having 30 in trickery I have a little condi dmg which pistol stacks bleeds and torment

That I can agree with. Some of the best dueling servers for me were Ehmry Bay and so far SoS has turned out rather well.

Not going to be able to record any videos since I got suspended for “Inappropriate Language” so it will be awhile before my next video.

He using the elite daggerstorm and I like that bug I mean the animeation look better than the stupid “toupie”

I would like if Anet change the animation of a guy turn on himself for the dagger storm elite with this one, I mean the same effect, like the dagger turn around you, but YOU you dont turn , you just run “slowly” it look better in my opinion

The thief used dagger storm in the refuge, then came out before it fully stealthed him and it just became a bug on my screen, it does it for all thieves who do that :P

Against two equally skilled thieves, no matter what the weapon set, d/p should always win.

i played vs raunchy in pvp few times and was wondering where did i see that guy, now i know he was in BLNT haha

cmon you can do better then that,
playing 1vs x with unbalanced wvw buffs/gear/buffood would always give you unfair Advantages
I miss some more Combo Action by using sh if your Opponent goes into stealth
