Thief Trait Tier
No love for Lotus Poison? Hehehe.
Shadow’s Embrace seems a bit low also ;-P
i love lotus! especialy on DD
lotus poison was rated low based on duration of poison.
shadow embrace only remove 1 con after 3 second of stealth it is worth 1 point

You say that until you have to deal with my condi thief on point, alone

needle trap on heal skill give you fair superior value then that poison trait will give you.
Needle trap is hard to get people to land in. especially with withdraw. Lotus grants Ranged pressure, is a whirl finisher, applied condi’s and damage on hit, is an evade (obviously) and on top of all of that can be continually used as long as you have endurance, which as a DD Evade thief I never run out of.
(edit: also if you are playing a condi Thief and usign Deadly arts, you are doing it wrong, but if you do go that route, you can still have needle trap on heal as well as lotus.)

But it at least deserves a rating. It must feel kind of left out without one.
And here I thought Last Refuge was the least desired trait :-P
Sorry i have to correct myself for some reason i thought lotus poison was dagger training. statement is the same weakness is low CD combo with Daredevil is top tier weakness trait.
And needle trap is easy to land on people if you understand how game generate traps. trap always spawn on a 90 degree angle of whatever you are facing so you just have to do funky camera angle changes it 100% hit always.
build design is another topic overall. i am welcome to suggestion i can also upload the template i used if you guys would like to make your own to see how we can compare them.
Needle trap has a 30 second cool down. Drops it at your feet, and yeah, its stupid that thief traps are lines instead of circled.
With trappers respite you can drop one when you use a heal skill. But the trap is cast at the end of the skill, so if you use withdraw you dodge away from your opponent, and drop the trap. So you have a choice, you can waste a skill slot on a 30 second cooldown skill that applies condis, and have an extra trap on heal.
OR
You can have lotus, save yourself a skill slot for something like Bandit’s defense, and constantly apply bleeding, torment and cripple when you dodge. Speaking of which. The bleed duration on Lotus is 10 freaking seconds, and it targets up to three opponents. so yeas its by far one of the best traits out there for a condi thief.
So wait… we talking about lotus training ? not lotus poison?
I don’t think you can really rank traits in such a general way. Some traits are obviously the best in slot no matter what, but there are plenty of traits that gain or lose value depending on the build you’re running. For example, you give Trapper’s Respite a 7, but only give Mug a 5, but Trapper’s Respite loses value in a power compared to Mug.
I don’t think this tier list is particularly useful for newer players because how useful a trait is depends almost entirely on what type of a build they desire to play.

I do agree.
For example, the build I’ve been using for a while now is power/crit build. Sometimes, there really is no choice as to which trait to take in a given slot…
Mug will always help my burst, and it also is one of my only sources of healing.
Trickster is my only method of removing conditions.
And when there is a choice, it depends on what I’m attempting to accomplish.
Flanking Strikes gives me quickness which helps me to burst down a target quickly, which is my ultimate goal.
Side Strike will always give me more criticals whenever I’m Flanking the target compared to Flawless Strike activating only when I’m above 90% health… which is difficult for a glass Thief to maintain. That’s also why I go with Pack runes instead of Scholar runes.
