UI QoL
Well thought out indeed. I agree with 1,2, and 6 completely . Although the other suggestions are just as reasonable, I want to add that simplicity of things is what make it nice. I also believe Anet did that on purpose.
WoW is clogged of nasty UI schemes, with BIG letters and numbers. Terrible Addons everywhere, left ,right , top and down. It’s frustrating and annoying giving out too much information and making us not enjoy the scenery or moments.
I am sure you don’t want it to turn it into that other game, but I believe clarity gives out more information than blatant, raw messages. It’s actually what made me appreciate the game so much more.
Btw when you are stunned or dazed, the surrounding of your screen turns purple. I like clean, non-invasive signs like that.
For #6. I believe it should have a simple “Finish fail” message pass by just like field+Finisher combos.
Interesting suggestions for sure.

I don’t have a lot to add other than “agreed!”, as this is all fairly well thought out stuff.

I definitely don’t want to ruin the interface. I’ve actually never even played the other game. I would like to have the option to move things around and customize the interface, though. Completely optional, of course.
I’m still pretty new, so I’m still always focused on either myself or the target. Everything else is seen in the corner of my eyes. Then again, I’m playing it on a 50+ inch screen, so my eyes have to move around a lot.
I do love subtle touches, but I do feel there is a lot missing….or being missed most likely. I don’t remember the game ever telling me that a purple haze means you’re dazed or things like that. I can only imagine what all is happening that I have no clue about.
I guess I would just like some “training wheels” for my eyes. Being able to put clear, bold signs and messages in or near the center of the screen if I choose to do so. It actually reminds me of trying to learn how to drive….keeping my eyes on the road while also watching my speedometer, mirrors, and tuning the radio station! :-P

I guess people should be given the option to move the UI to better suit their needs. It’s a reasonable request for sure.. I know you are playing Thief, but you should probably repost is in a more appropriate section of the forum. You’ ll get more support that way. Mesmers will even join you on that lol. nice driving analogy.

i actually like how clean gw2 UI is, will never miss wow UI clogged with add-ons
i would love to see some passive proc traits icons on enemy maybe but that is
i have no problem tracking how many charges i have on stolen spell nor managing initiative w/o counting every single ini
idk i think being feared/stunned/dazes etc. is already well indicated; i would rather not have my screen cluttered with words
can agree on stomping animation, it should consider quickness/interrupts etc.
there is way to differ between stomping and rezzing (have to use right click instead of activation key) but UI option would be certanly welcome

No UI mods is a good thing for sure, as it incentivizes the developer to make a clean and workable UI instead of offloading the job to players like in WoW.
That said, it would be nice to see some more profession-specific UI cues, like some kind of stealth GUI for Thieves. As the OP noted, it’s rather clunky to have to mouseover your tiny stealth buff to see the exact duration (and it’s often so short that by the time you mouseover, it’s already ending/over).
I would love more information regarding ICD’s, charges. I’m down. I am also for being able to scale and hide individual elements. I sometimes play with no ui. Its beautiful. I’d love to at least have the floating health bars on, or just my own scaled down health and weaponskills/utility hotbar.
Then I’d have prime screen real estate, my relevant info, and I wouldn’t accidentally click the target window with GTAE’s and cut the distance in half. :(
All in all, I’m for more options. And I like the no UI mods thing.
