hei guys, im a thief player , who have been playing thief since beta week 1. was using GC (PW and BS) build in the first month since release and then since many thief player using that build and i want to be an unique thief, so in past couple a weeks i tried to find a new playstyle. and i think this P/D condition damage suit me. with this video i wanna share my experience in WvWvW as a roamer thief with P/D and D/D

for food im using Bowls of Orrian Trufle Meat and Stew (100% chance gain might when dodge, 40% endurance refill) and Master Tunning Crystal (Gain Condition damage equal to 6% of your toughness
Gain Condition damage equal to 4% of your vitality) i hope it helps

Yea, really he is the only thief I find impressive till they fix the render bug

Thanks for posting these vids (and in the other thread too) … really great! Question for you, how do you get up to 21K health? With full carrion exotics on armor & trinkets, I only have like 17K. What am I missing?

Also, why choose Infusion of Shadow (10 pt. shadow arts)? This build does not seem to be initiative starved … wouldn’t shadow’s embrace (remove conditions in stealth) be better?

Hey Nightshade nice vid man, <- deso player here.
I run the same build on my thief with a slight diffrence. 20pt acrobatic i’d change that to assassin reward. I found I get more healing from that.

Instead of bleed duration runes i use 6 piece runes of the undead. I found in pvp ppl often use a condition clear so bleeds don’t last that long anyway. With runes of the undead you gain a bit of defense and nice dmg on top of that. Only thing the setup is lacking is a real stun breaker.

This build works nicely in pve exploring aswell, I have yet to try it in dungeons.

Too bad there are so few sigil choices for weaps with this build. I run the corruption dmg on kill and geomancy. (when switching weaps it does bleed dmg but the animation is the same as the elementalist earth spike, i’ve had a few ppl waste dodge on that xD)

@kwolf Trust me spamming DB, or miss cnd and you will be out of initiative very quick, esp with steal on cd. I have no idea why your health is that low. Make sure you are in full carrion gear, jewelry, weapons, armor. With 20 points in acrobatics you should be sitting at 19k+ with no orb bonuses.

I kinda have had that same build since about the begining of October, just with Assassins Reward over Trickster, I just love to use Signet of Malice with Dagger Storm, I just burst out into a evil laugh.

It works brilliantly in Dungeons However, your generally the last guy standing if everyone else died on a boss fight or something. You feel like as if your carrying everyone, or atleast I feel like it.

Refreshing to see a non-backstab thief.

hmm i saw his video, since u mentioned it , i see we use same weapon set, but i hardly see that i have similar gameplay with him (he using venom as main utility skill), but he is far more skilled than me tho,and im gonna try his build , since now our server losing, i just gonna have fun in WvWvW (focusing only for killing ppl ;P)

my first choice rune for pvp is undead runes, because ppl tend to bring more defensive utility such as cond removal, but the reason why im using three types of runes in WvW,because sometimes when im sniping dolyaks they guard it with 3-7 ppl (i know its sounds crazy) i need to make sure that my bleed ticks long enough while im invis thats mean i can do enough damage without exposing myself,not only that longer duration mean u can stacks more bleeds, before the first tick disappear. so with those 3 runes i have middle ground , where my bleeds tick longer, but i wont lose that much damage even when enemies using cond removal. *btw i forgot to mention that short condition duration is cons for P/D, but like i said before it easy to restack compared to D/D LDB longer duration but kinda hard to restack due to higher ini cost

Okay, I’m close then … just need to get a few more pieces, thanks for the response. Now, please delete these videos … it’s great stuff, but the whine about thieves patrol is always looking for something to complain about.
