We need a 2h melee weapon
Quarterstaff. /topic
The only 2h melee weapon that would make sense for a roguelike profession would be the staff. It would be neat to have a profession that used the staff as a melee physical weapon instead of a long ranged magic weapon. I’m not pleading for this btw, but it would be neat to have.
Staff seems like it would have a nice fit with thief. Could be a stun focused weapon to synchronize nicely with the steal traits in that you daze on steal and close in then keep close with dazes/stuns/knockdowns. Although I feel that if thief somehow got a weapon like warrior’s hammer the cries would just come rolling in…
all those weapons don’t make sense for a thief…
I want a melee staff.

GIVE US THE NERF BAT!! I WANNA BE OP AGAIN!!
:c
I wanna wield a 2H Warrior.
Stealth → enter combat → throw the warrior →come back in stealth → enjoy
Best weapon in this game.
As fun as it is to think about what new weapons we’d all like to see, I’d prefer to focus on requesting that Anet fix our non-viable existing weaponsets.
P/P is still a joke, S/P was inadvertantly broken when it was revealed that a rounding error was the only thing keeping PW even marginally useful, and D/D still suffers from the fact that dagger OH is underwhelming, and having a condition based kittenty evade skill in the middle of a direct damage set.
Almost half our weapon sets are non-viable, and among those non-viable weaponsets, 66% are so poorly designed they’re unplayable.
pre-ordered HOT at this point,
save yourself the money and don’t bother.

A spear would be nice.
A melee staff would be interesting, similar in use to the DAOC’s Friar class.
But they should fix ASAP the actual available weapons before adding new ones.
A spear would be nice.
But we already have a 2-handed melee spear weapon. :P
and refuses to spare the life in return for the surrender at discretion (unconditional surrender)
of a vanquished opponent.

Katana definetly.
Blowgun + Bayonet blade on the end for melee + ranged 2 handed option.
and refuses to spare the life in return for the surrender at discretion (unconditional surrender)
of a vanquished opponent.

As for weapons not in game, would something like this count as a 2handed? :x

Although if I really wanted to dream big, I’d want to beat people in the face with a cannon. ;/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEhYkFFolrM
Would be great for robbing banks. My Thief is too squishy and all my melee weapons keep breaking. I’d think it’s time to steal some technology. c.c
I think ANet should remove stealth from thieves to balance them out.

If this were reddit, this would get downvoted into oblivion. Currently stealth is the only thing that makes thief’s unique. Without stealth, all a thief would be is the rangers kid brother, who’s too little to even use a proper bow or have a pet. Seriously, they don’t have any range, can’t damage spike like the heavy classes, are 3rd place in condition application behind necro and mesmer, and don’t have the strategic skills that the engi’s use. Thief can only jump out of the way, and soon, we won’t even be able to do that. I run a p/d condi build, and it just works “ok”. We need some knockdown skills like the sin did in gw1, or some way of leveling the field, because currently, we’re at the bottom.

I’d trade off stealth if it meant improving Steal, giving us an F2 and reverting all the Shadowstep nerfs, and improving it in general.
Would be nice to move us out of the squishy phase too, Assassins in GW1 weren’t squishy and could block tank everything. Actually lets just delete Thief and bring back Assassin. Thief was a nice idea but it clearly isn’t working out for anyone.
For a 2H melee weapon, I’m a member of the melee staff party.
I’d also like to see brass knuckles/bagh nakha, but I think those are more in line with “a really awesome dagger skin” than an entirely new weapon.
By Ogden’s hammer, what savings!
What if they just added non-crappy 3-5 on 1h sword, have those empty handed skills be some acrobatic and multitarget flair appropriate to the cunning and agile duelist.

agree man . I would pay 10k gems if they delete thief and bring back assassin from gw1. We were a mobile tank while dealing dps and stuff . Stealth is useless in gw2 anyway . Peoole say it’s OP? In willing to play a stealthless build if they stop nerfing us into the ground.
