Signet of Restoration: 202 base health per cast with a healing modifier of .1.
Signet of Restoration (PVP): 168 base health per cast with a healing modifier of .08.

Now lets take those numbers and actually put them into play, with 0 healing power.
Heal Sig procs every 1 second, so it’s HP/S is easy; 392/s
Most auto skills on Dagger/Dagger are 1/2s cast time, so 202 × 2 = 404/s

Whoa, the Ele restoration signet actually wins. Now yes, of course, this assumes 100% uptime, and can be slowed down by longer cast time skills, dodging, and other various delays, while the warriors is a steady per/second. But any decent ele should easily maintain 80% uptime. And dont forget, mist regen in water form, and a Dagger #5 heal. That easily closes the gap.

Lets see what happens to our signets with +300 healing power.
War Healing Sig = 407
Ele Resto Sig: 232 × 2 =464

Not only does ele win, but now it’s pulled way ahead. Lets see how 1500 healing plays out…

War Healing Sig = 467
Ele Resto Sig: 353 × 2 = 706

Indeed you are correct sir. Here’s my UPDATED numbers for 1500 healing power, to account for the 2 casts per 1.15, as opposed to 2 casts per 1.

War Healing Sig = 467 hp/second
Ele Resto Sig: 353 x (2 / 1.15) = 614 hp/second

So, you’re still wrong, just slightly less wrong. And that’s practically like being right, right? Right.

You might want to actually research before you decide to post next time.

I have a warrior and play him second only to my necro.

Objectively speaking, I think the healing signet is way too much for a passive heal. Other professions have to worry about ACTIVELY healing, which adds for more skill and room for error.

That being said…Warriors did need something to give them a good push for high level play. I just don’t think an OP passive heal combined with a ridiculous amount of CC that ALSO gives us super crit/dmg potential were the right options to choose.

I recently read where Anet thought warriors were in a “good place” though, so maybe they really like the formula of buffing necros/warriors with high damage while your opponent is cc’d.

Personally, I think high damage while cc’d is one of the biggest turnoffs to players of MMOs, but maybe I’m the exception.

it’s ironic that duel servers banned that..

Duel servers are in themselves silly, and that will never change as long as people keep bringing things like PU mesmer P/d thieves.. etc… etc..

Poison as counter to Healing Signet is another myth of the warrior forums. Next to my favorite, blind counters Skull Crack.

Blind counters ALL warrior skills.

Don’t worry, people should not have to use a shred of skill to defeat a warrior. They want to beat them with raw damage skills, not using their head, spamming skills and not using blind and cc. That is why they QQ.

Basicly they want them to be free kills like they were three months ago.

Here is what I see…
I don’t wanna have to slot a blind…
I don’t wanna have to slot a stun break…
I don’t wanna have to build my toon to defeat yours…

The problem is… THAT IS WHAT WARRIORS do… WE build our toons specifically to beat other toons. I made my toon specifically to counter condition-meta-mancers and other condition spamming classes. People who use power damage trash me.

So you have a build that is meant to counter roughly 50% of the player base, but you expect others to think it is fair that we have to make a build to counter a single class? Every class has conditions, but not every class has the insane cc, condi immunity, mobility, and hps a warrior has.

Unless you can come up with actual proof that hp/s is more than other classes in gw2 i will just asume you have no clue about you are talking about and just blow things out of proportion because it hurts to be a bad pvper.
The only thing that needs a nerf or revamp is Unsuspecting Foe.Ever tried to fight a zerker warrior running healing signet? Did’nt think so.Knowledge of basic game mechanics is your friend, or your worst enemy in cases of players that don’t posses it.

Also i beg to differ about the 50% of playerbase being countered.I usually use noobcounter builds and that is roughly 90% of the players not a measly 50% Bring it on

D/D zerker elementalist health per second: (assuming the attacks per second is roughly 1.0. Some skills are instant, thus raising this. Some skills take time and lower this. Running takes this “per skill requirement” away unless you remember to cast your 1 skill instead of spamming auras/ water 4/5 for your life.)

cleansing wave cd = 25. cleansing wave heal = 1302. Remember the cast time of 3/4s with an unspecified aftercast.

1302/25 = 52 hps.

Signet of Restoration:

168 hps.

Regeneration (we only get this when traited.) (50% uptime assuming): 130/2 = 65 hps.

Regeneration (100% up time) = 130 hps.

d/d elementalist total health per second without traits: 220 health per second (assuming that the player can instantly cast cleansing wave and it doesn’t have a cast time which is impossible.)

Warrior health per second: 392.

Warrior base HP: 18372.
Warrior base armor: 2127.

Elementalist base HP:10805.
Elementalist base armor: 1836.

Along with 172 more hps, or 107 if the ele is traited 10 into arcane, the warrior also has roughly 78.5% more HP than an elementalist does. An elementalist can not even aqquire this health even with a full knights amulet. He would need vitality runes as well. The warrior also clearly has more armor.

Also @ porkchop – I did not read any of that. Use paragraphs or indents to split up your ideas in a visually appealing and easy-to-read manner.

The burst heal is terrible. Healing signet can only rely on the passive regen. That is the weakness of the healing signet.

It shouldn’t take more than few brain cells to brainstorm that high dps destroy the healing signet warriors.

That’s why the carry immunity spells, massive condi clean and multiple stunlocks. Each stun = 2-3k worth of healing and they bring 4+ so that you can’t dodge all of them. Assuming that you can consistently maintain enough damage to overcome the passive is ridiculous, they purposefully chose this spec because the healing more than matches most pure DPS specs.

Condi clean, immunity spells have cooldowns. Mace/shield Stunlocks have short range.

When immunity happens, you don’t use high burst damage and you don’t facetank the warrior, instead you kite the warrior.

You dodge important skills like the GS’s 4 skill. If you dodge that, the warrior will have a hard time trying to catch up to you. You do not waste dodge, you do not chain dodge, You do not faceroll, instead you watch the warrior’s attack.

After immunity is down, you spam every CC and burst down with every burst damage and auto-attack you got. You make sure you get defensive when Mace/shield is up, and get offensive when GS is up.

You need to play as a warrior in order to learn how to defeat warriors.

I played warrior for a few hours yesterday and it is literally the easiest, most face-to-desk boring thing to play. ever. The 0/10/30/0/30 hammer/longbow build has everything: almost complete immunity to conditions due to cleansing ire and berserker’s stance, giant burst against stunned opponents, high defense and large HP pool, 600-800 passive healing every second, access to stability, and complete immunity to both conditions and regular damage when needed. All while retaining the ability to deal huge numbers with low cooldown skills. Oh, and access to very nice conditions like blind, weakness and immobilize.

Needless to say, I was more effective than on my thief main which I’ve spent 600 hours trying to learn well.

The skill floor needed to do well on a warrior currently as opposed to a different class right now is appallingly low. In fact, it’s basically non-existent.

Warriors have passive condi clear from using their burst skills, require you to kite them a lot (due to lots of stuns and void zones from long bow) have many immunity skills be they blocks or utilities so allowing them such strong passive regen makes them too imbalanced for 1v1 fights which is why its banned.

Many other things are banned too like elites >90secs and things like Prismatic Understanding. Just cause they are ridiculous in 1v1 fights. Also certain amulets are banned. Remember we want the fights to not last forever in a 1v1 server cause everyone wants a turn to play.

Comparison of the 3 warrior healing skills (with 300 healing power):

Healing Signet:
407 per second x 60 seconds
= 24,420 heal per minute

Healing Surge:
(at full 3 adrenaline bars)10,270 × 2 (every 30 seconds)
= 20,540 heal per minute

Mending:
removes 3 conditions and applies 5,540 healing after the removal x 5 (every 20 seconds)
= 27,700 healing per minute, plus possible 15 conditions removed per minute

Basically the main beef people have is that Healing Signet is passive, but the other two are fairly comparable to superior if used properly.

Mending is basically all-purpose, Healing Surge is anti-burst, and Healing Signet is set it and forget it. Healing Signet is literally susceptible to burst, as activating it will break the passive effect, lowering possible healing by nearly 5k per minute and providing a small heal (meaning activating it just once makes this skill worse than the others).

Man that math looks great! The multiplication is flawless! A true genius at his work. However….1 pair of swings only counts as one skill. You might wanna redo that again (the answer will be even smaller!1!!)

Also you referred to the fire 1 skill in your first post, so i took it from the dragon’s claw wiki page. I simply assumed anyone who saw me quote a post about dragon’s claw would assume i took it from the dragon’s claw wiki. Here is my source:

There is nothing to try. I play a warrior in sPvP and I know it almost hard counters my build. There isn’t any point to playing my thief in sPvP right now knowing hard counters exist for it and none exist for my warrior.

you’re not using enough of the things that makes warrior OP in the current meta.

i’m just going to speak from the point of view of a thief. If a warrior is not using healing signet it’s pretty much a free kill also you’re too glassy I can see why you get killed easily. get some more armor, and sustain and use either condi bunker with LB + w/e or mace+shield/greatsword and cavalier armor.

Warriors never went on other forums and QQed and asked for nerfs to other classes, WE wanted improvements to ours.

No it’s just mostly warriors complaining about thieves and vice versa. We practically hate each other.

If I could have 1 cent for everytime a warrior claiming how imba backstab is for hitting X damage on their oh so high armor then I’d be rich.

You play a Thief, you only played a Warrior temporarily to learn about them. Your not a hard-core Warrior player.

I have almost as many games played as warrior as I have playing as thief for sPvP.

GS how out of touch are you? Warriors haven’t been running greatswords in MONTHS. Are you theorycrafting? Or just out of touch with the meta?

If you don’t want to learn how to destroy warriors then I got another advice for you, “keep calm and continue QQing on telling us about how bad you are.”

Because players are ignorant and don’t know how to counter Healing signet.

Why don’t you enlighten us then, oh master of countering unstrippable passives

The burst heal is terrible. Healing signet can only rely on the passive regen. That is the weakness of the healing signet.

It shouldn’t take more than few brain cells to brainstorm that high dps destroy the healing signet warriors.

That’s why the carry immunity spells, massive condi clean and multiple stunlocks. Each stun = 2-3k worth of healing and they bring 4+ so that you can’t dodge all of them. Assuming that you can consistently maintain enough damage to overcome the passive is ridiculous, they purposefully chose this spec because the healing more than matches most pure DPS specs.

Condi clean, immunity spells have cooldowns. Mace/shield Stunlocks have short range.

When immunity happens, you don’t use high burst damage and you don’t facetank the warrior, instead you kite the warrior.

You dodge important skills like the GS’s 4 skill. If you dodge that, the warrior will have a hard time trying to catch up to you. You do not waste dodge, you do not chain dodge, You do not faceroll, instead you watch the warrior’s attack.

After immunity is down, you spam every CC and burst down with every burst damage and auto-attack you got. You make sure you get defensive when Mace/shield is up, and get offensive when GS is up.

You need to play as a warrior in order to learn how to defeat warriors.

I played warrior for a few hours yesterday and it is literally the easiest, most face-to-desk boring thing to play. ever. The 0/10/30/0/30 hammer/longbow build has everything: almost complete immunity to conditions due to cleansing ire and berserker’s stance, giant burst against stunned opponents, high defense and large HP pool, 600-800 passive healing every second, access to stability, and complete immunity to both conditions and regular damage when needed. All while retaining the ability to deal huge numbers with low cooldown skills. Oh, and access to very nice conditions like blind, weakness and immobilize.

Needless to say, I was more effective than on my thief main which I’ve spent 600 hours trying to learn well.

The skill floor needed to do well on a warrior currently as opposed to a different class right now is appallingly low. In fact, it’s basically non-existent.

Your opponents were terrible. Simple as that.

5x Warrior, 5x Ranger, 4x Elementalist, 4x Engineer,
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant

Ele has waterfield plus blasts healing wise..Please don’t use rude terms just because you have a pooe understanding about the game you play.

Poor understanding of the game? You might want to rephrase that. Here in this thread, we have been referring to the x/D elementalist. Only staff eles have water fields.

And for the record, i do not main elementalist in pvp. I play engineer. If anyone thinks i am bitter because i suck at elementalist, i regret to inform you that that is not the case.

Combined with Adrenal health + Dolyak runes a warrior can put out ~900 HPS with NO HEALING POWER and that regen CANNOT be stripped.

Where do you get these numbers from?
With 0 Healing power

  • Healing Signet is 392 HP/s

Without a single blast (so drop the turret, activate pick back up) it has a HPS of exactly 392.26

As a warrior who uses heal sig, I’ve been killed by every other class before, I’ve also killed every other class before. From my play experience it just comes down to build vs build rather than class vs class. I’m built to be a tank and I’m best at keeping people off of downed players and points. (hammer-rifle) I don’t do a whole lot of damage, but if you’re a light armor class built to tank I’m mostly likely gonna kill you. I’ve had thieves absolutely destroy me, and I’ve absolutely destroyed thieves.
I honestly laugh every time I see a warrior without healing sig because they die very very quickly, forget ever being able to go 2v1 for very long, they die in the end.

I’ve recently started playing a necro, and I can live almost just as long as my warrior can (without points in toughness or vitality). So to me that says that healing sig is something that warriors need. I agree that it is a bit strong, but it couldn’t take a giant nerf and still be usefull at all.

Now I’m expecting to hear some responses along the lines of “lol if you use heal sig and you get killed by theives you must be a horrible player l2p noooob, heal sig is OP don’t argue”
Just don’t bother replying if that’s how your brain works, we all get killed, get off your imaginary high horses.

I don’t know anything about the technical numbers and stuff, but this is what I think.

Yes, they can temporarily make themselves immune to Conditions and my poisons, however I have so much stuff I can throw at them that they just can’t keep up with everything that is going on.

I just don’t like warrior in PvP, it is just way too simple of a class. I know what they are going to do before they do it. If they slot Healing Signet I know they can’t heal up after getting 10% HP. I know what they’re strengths and weaknesses are.

By the way, you are still under rank 10, after rank 20 the quality of players goes up dramatically. You can find some scary players in hot-joins.

So you’ve been commenting on how OP Warriors are in PvP and yet you’ve hardly played any PvP at all!?

Even if you were arguing from a WvW point of view, the balance in that game mode will ALWAYS be bad. The differences of gear/food means it’ll always be chaos there, which to me is half the fun.

I feel like I’ve wasted so much time arguing with a guy unqualified to actually have their opinion taken seriously.

You play a Thief, you only played a Warrior temporarily to learn about them. Your not a hard-core Warrior player.

I have almost as many games played as warrior as I have playing as thief for sPvP.

So you’ve been commenting on how OP Warriors are in PvP and yet you’ve hardly played any PvP at all!?

Even if you were arguing from a WvW point of view, the balance in that game mode will ALWAYS be bad. The differences of gear/food means it’ll always be chaos there, which to me is half the fun.

I feel like I’ve wasted so much time arguing with a guy unqualified to actually have their opinion taken seriously.

None of this matters anyways since I have more achievement points than anyone here. My opinions are always more valid.

Poison as counter to Healing Signet is another myth of the warrior forums. Next to my favorite, blind counters Skull Crack.

Blind counters ALL warrior skills.

Except berserkers stance…

Healing sig is extremely OP. But meh balance in this game is pretty kitten anyways and this game will never be competitive.

Btw most of the people on these fourms have no clue what they are talking about thats why you see lot of people defending it.

My point is, Excal has been commenting like he’s some sort of expert yet he’s hardly actually PLAYED any PvP. I don’t feel that someone who hasn’t put many hours into a game mode is qualified to judge what is and isn’t OP.

While time spent doesn’t necessarily equate to knowledge, a lack of time means you are much less likely to have knowledge on what the balance of the game currently is.

So sPvP is PvP and WvW is not PvP?

Besides most people don’t play sPvP because it’s kinda a waste of time. I hardly doubt I’m the only one who doesn’t play sPvP that much.
