Is no one amused by “korean gamer’s” claim that he can beat a cele ele on clerics “greataxe” (lame name)? I mean, that alone made me laugh so hard.

i have never said that. And 100% sure any build combinrd with cleric will never kill those people cuz of not enough dps.

And i am support warrior but not zerker warrior thus i don’t run greataxe. Support warrior doesnt have that much dps to kill sustain level of dd cele ele but just none can kill each other.

GS/Axe-shield is very strong. I am using cleric + shield but this build sometimes inflict me like 15000 dmg in just 1~2 sec (when all combo inflicted succesffuly, quickness -> shield bash-> evis-> weapon swap to invoke hydro->some of 100b or arcing slice -> whirlwind attack). I am not doubt that this build can pwn dd cele ele because even cleric + heavy armor + shield which is tankier than dd cele ele would get damaged like that.

In other hand, mace isn’t that much in really useful unless it’s about playing defensively. The reason is that most of builds in any class has stability & break stun and the biggest bad point is its animation : Skullcrack is too easy to be dodged.

I guess Skullcrack’s animation need to be totally changed like leap skill and it should remove some stacks of stability (not whole stability) when successfully inflicted, otherwise you can do nothing for another 10sec and hopefully hope that they don’t have extra stability or break stun skill.

Currently GS/mace-shield isn’t that viable in spvp. if anet would do above it will be viable for sure.

Guess what? Ele > Shoutbow. Guardian > Shoutbow in team fights. Axe + GS doesn’t need to fight against a braindead 1v1 focused spec who only focuses on solo que and not actually trying to be effective in conquest as a whole.

Seriously, that’s why you’re in a team right? Why in the world would anyone pick a d/d ele over a shoutbow? You’re competing with GUARDIAN and ELE on that build, which you can’t.

Axe + GS however can at least snowball team fights, has great damage, feeds off of team support, and isn’t THAT bad in duels (it should have at least a 40% chance to win vs. d/d ele which is BIG for a spec that’s supposed to be in team fights). Sure it will maybe lose against shoutbow but any good team comp will have Necro/Ele taking duels anyways, and guess what those classes can do? They can survive vs. mesmer thief burst and can hold a point better. Shoutbow doesn’t do anything against Mesmer Thief. So come back with a better argument, no one cares about someone with a 70% win ratio in solo que yet has no competitive play presence.

The question is, why would I pick Axe + GS over any Warrior build or ANY roamer atm when I can have burst and still be able to hold a point and crush team fights better than braindead 1v1 builds like shoutbow?

Warrior diversity is FUBAR’d, that’s the problem. Shoutbow will NEVER compete with Ele or Guardian. DPS Warrior actually can compete with everything however and the best one is Axe + GS cause ANET loves to enforce the meta.

oh no. you misunderstood that,

It says I was using Cleric + GS + shield but it didn’t mean that I was using GS/AXE-shield but it means I was using GS/Mace-shield, Read below, it talks about the bad thing that would happenned when using mace.

the 15000 damage I talk there is I get damaged 15000 by BERSERKER GreatAxe build when I equip that cleric GS/Mace-sheield set and all that combo successfully infliced upon me. it doesn’t mean that Cleric GS/Axe-shield can damage around 15000. that’s the only DPS that berserker GreatAxe can make.

The Second setence, as following:
I am using Cleric + shield => this means I was using Cleric + GS/Mace-shield

and..

this build sometimes inflict me like 15000 dmg => this build here means BERZERKER GreatAxe.

I think the guy was saying Shoutbow is braindead because it involves much less care when playing that the squishy zerker builds. I mean I have 2 friends that started playing recently and on any zerker war build or any DPS roamer build on the other classes, they get absolutely destroyed, but the moment they switch to shoutbow the sustain carries them so badly that they can actually fight on points for extended periods of time without dying in less than 15 seconds even if the other player is better than they are. I can sort of understand why he’d call shoutbow braindead since its so newbie friendly of a build.

I would say your friends just don’t know how to effectively utilize ShoutBow since they just started. But any build, including ShoutBow, cannot be braindead as I stated, the person who uses any build can play like braindead tho becuz they have no knowledge to utilize the build or just don’t know what to do cuz of little experience..it just needs time and practice…
