You guys need to relax. If he hasn’t given up on Warrior by now, I don’t think he’s going to leave with us now in a better state. Although I’d like to see more of his streams, I’m having trouble dealing with eles with his build.

So pretty much a standard M/Sh/GS build with vigor on stance? I currently go back and forth between 0 20 20 0 30 and 0 10 30 0 30. If it was that simple you really think this guy would care whether it is shared? Of course, I didn’t watch him play so who knows. Also, I find Hoelbrak to work better than Melandru for me.
Hoelbrak would be kind of a waste when you have no form of might stacking going. Big thing would be sundering mace in this build, as it gives you lower cd on two of your CC’s. And after thinking for a bit he probably takes warriors sprint over vigorous focus, since he is running without swiftness.

I don’t agree about Hoelbrak. More DPS is more DPS. In my build I am sitting at around 1500 toughness without Melandru. I think that is fine personally. I take Hoelbrak for the extra power and -20% condition, personally. Anything else is just a bonus. Link to this video you guys are talking about please.

His role is to interrupt and allow his team to burst the target while he gets on formidable enemies (Necro, Ele, Engi) and forces them to move away/around from their team and disengage as much as possible by delaying their burst on his targeted ally.
I wanted to point out that I am 99.9percent sure that is that build. I am still skeptical with the rune choice (with Rune of Lysa I get 17% Crit-Chance – See previous Attachment) as well as with some specific traits (trait line s are right).
Though he did state that he brought a Sword/Mace instead of bow due to having a Thief with him (D/P/Shortbow).
His role is sort of exactly like the Perma Evasive S/D Thief if you think about it.

Curses! I saw that the other guy’s guess was incorrect and didn’t check yours. I was determined to figure it out from the picture posted…and ended up with the basically the exact same setup as you except for the runes, which is pretty much personal preference anyways. I had gotten confused by the very minor differences in toughness and strength then realized that I forgot about Tough Skin and Armored Attack.
His friend may be mad that he let it slip :P. Just one glance at the stats screen is all it takes.
As for the build itself I think I’ll stick with Mace/Shield and GS.

With condis being the meta toughness doesn’t count for much anymore, and you simply have to save Endure Pain for any Thief/Ele spikes that come your way. Not to mention the evade on Whirlwind Attack can still be a lifesaver. I gotta say though Tremor is a nice skill. This build seems more focused on the control element while mine is singling out a target (usually Necro) and takinging them out of the fight as fast as possible. The synergy between Unsuspecting Foe, Forceful GS, and Hoelbrak runes is also something I enjoy.
As for the aesthetic for some reason Sword/Mace really annoys me as well. If it was the absolute best option I wouldn’t allow it to stop me from using it but since I have the choice I’ll take the Anime Greatsword of Justice still just for Whirlwind Attack and who well Skull Crack and 100b go together.

I’ve always been a big fan of any builds X/Shield and X/Mace. Used to run Axe/Shield and Axe/Mace before they nerfed Axe auto-attack damage. Such nice control for your team when the meta was now burst focused.
With current meta on condi’s it is less useful, but still obviously has it’s place as if your team can stack condi’s on target and then you can stun and daze them into oblivion it can ravage a fair chunk of health.

Because of that it makes trait choices, sigil choices and the like much easier since I’m trying to fullfil two roles (roaming / team fight) not 3 (roaming / team fight / aoe cleave).

Depending on the profession of the bunker. A good Guardian bunker is not going to just drop the the Skull Crack 100b builds…too much stability, blocks, blinds, etc
An Engi? Lol Engis are so screwed by this setup – just like Necros. No stability is no fun. A bunker one will still likely be ROUGH to take out – they can trait for -53% damage when stunned or knocked down. Protection procs and another -20% on top of that trait. Cuts the damage on this build a LOT.

Think this is the approach a lot more Warriors need to take. Everyone knows the Warrior CC is very strong and if the rumblings from devs is anything to go by we are going to get a bit more sustain in the future (fingers crossed).
Warriors need to stop trying to fit in to the current roles (Bunker, Condi, Cleave etc) and we need to create our own role in which we are able to stick on a target, provide some middle of the road constant pressure and most importantly keep them in one place for the other guys in the team to deal the real damage.
Using tremor on an opposition player as he moves towards rezzing his team mate (before they have poppped Stab) is just as important as getting that guy down in the first place.

That is the main problem with this game. People want to play classes in ways they enjoy and end up forced into specific weapon sets, builds, and roles. Also, the standard GS build isn’t what it once was, just an fyi.

Also because you mostly focus on a single target, in my experience. GS gameplay is much more mobile and fun to watch.
And running away from enemies with stability waiting it out just isn’t fun. Not much of a problem, but annoying.
