Fresh 80 - Looking for sword PvE
I’ll be honest, I don’t know that Warriors are capable of solo-ing Champions. I’ve never heard about it happening at least…
Especially with the common Greatsword build that just…blazes through anything else, really.
But then again, I’ve been away from the game awhile, so things may have changed.
I didn’t necessarily mean soloing, and the build I am currently using can solo 3/4 of the Queensdale champs I’ve been farming.
Sword is a weird one. I love the savage leap playstyle but I have been lured away by the damage of the axe and the gs. I do keep meaning to go back and experiment but I probably wont till I get another set of rampager gear. Any way...
Magical mike did a sword roaming vid since the patch which I quite like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anDVv6CvFTY
Very much a mobility focused build.
And this build used to get quite a lot of love and I had a lot of fun with it ;-

It’s pretty old so I suggest going to heart of the mists for some testing to see how the patches have treated it. While I’m not so sold on shout heals these days, I am a big fan of soldier runes for solo warrioring, cos if you are evading the big hits then conditions are all you have to worry about.
Desolation
25 points in arms, the rest can be whatever you want. You could also go for 15 in discipline if you want to weapon swap (LB and GS are good for that).
For the last 30 points, look at the other builds posted on the forum, you might get some ideas there.
I use Sword/shield (sigil of fire and bloodlust/corruption) and long bow (sigil of blood maybe) in knights armor with Runes of Dolyak (still trying to finalize my own trinkets and sigils) for a high precision/toughness (somewhat condi damage) build
The sword is a hybrid weapon, as is the bow, so they work well together.
I use 0/30/30/0/10
Deep Cuts, Blademaster, Furious
Shield Master, Cleansing Ire, Defy Pain
Signet Mastery
And I usually run Healing Signet, FGJ, Signet of Furry, Signet of Stamina, Signet of Rage.
If I’m in a group for fractals or a dungeon I’ll usually swap out Sig of Stamina for Banner of Discipline (or strength if another already has it).
That would give you more than enough of a “tanky” feel to take a couple of hits from champs, though to be fair, if I end up solo’ing a champ I usually just kite with the bow, and only go in with the sword to stack bleeds before I dodge out of range of him.
If you were going pure condition damage, than a sword/sword option might be better.
