Like I said in the title I’m going for a healing shout warrior. I’m going to be playing dungeons and endgame pve(like farming karma for temple armor and such).

I was interested in what weapons/other traits have you guys most effective to go along with healing shouts?

If I put 30 in tactic and get shouts heal, should I also get all +healing gears / runes / accessories to get the most out of shouts heal?

I done plenty of builds with healing shouts, tough/vit/power sword/shield.
Mixed hammer build over all you can mix it with anything you want. I don’t use all +healing but some of my accessories have + healing on them. All of them exotic so the amount added is quite nice. My shouts heal close to 1.6k which make for a second heal one could say. If you tell me what are you going after then maybe I can give you some more insight.

L70 atm, use sword/warhorn/rifle, full get of shaman gears, all sapphire jewelry, all +healing runes. Traits: 0/30/0/30/0 going for 0/30/10/30/0 at L80

imo yes because you use sword and you need spend 30pts in arms for max effect and this trait line is not good for heal. Better is mace and use defense line you get lot of defense and heal power and major traits are supporting mace in same line. But if u like sword play it

I am not big on PvE nor dungeons, so take my post with a grain of salt.

1. +Healing adds little to shouts. I’d rather use that more effectively elsewhere. I’ve tried to stack more there and it kittens your other stats too much.

2. Greatsword is very nice in PvE even in dungeons. You can swish in and out and deal lots of AoE damage. PvE mobs doesn’t scatter like real people so its a big bonus. The battles are long and you snowball into max Might stacks, doing tons of damage.

3. I’d take rifle for my other weapon, because they hit so stupidly hard in dungeons sometime you need to back off and let someone else take the heat for a bit. In those time you still want to keep up damage output. Rifle can dish it out. cripple and knockback is nice to keep them off you while you heal up.

Traits:
20(V+IX)/20(IV/X)/0/30(?/VIII/XII)

? depends. If you like battlestandard, take V. runes of rage or pirate. If you like signet runes of lyssa, take VI time your killshot or 100B here when you signet.

for sigil use superior blood to keep your hp up.

Thanks for the feed back kraken. On the topics of weapons I was thinking of running Axe/Warhorn and rifle set. Does axe/warhorn work in dungeons well?

Taugrim has a pretty good build centering around this. He calls it his “Captain Hammer” build and its pretty decent in PvE, as well as PvP.

pretty much the idea is to go hammer and mace – both because you can increase their damage with traits in the defense tree, but also because the CC these 2 weapons bring will allow you to nearly stunlock opponents.

In dungeons I switch one of the weapons for a rifle or a greatsword when about to fight a boss because of their CC immunity.

warhorn I love – but not for dungeons. Warhorn really shine when you need group mobility/swiftness, the gigantic PBAoe weakness is boss too. But really the ability to convert cond->boon is super awesome. Most these none factors in dungeons.

What’s the reasoning behind axe and/or warhorn for dungeons? Maybe theres something I didn’t consider?

I was thinking axe main hand for Dps with warhorn and healing shouts so I could be support basically was my thought. Also at least in AC explore (the only explore mode i’ve done thus far) I think it could be beneficial for condition removal and endurance regen plus weakening bosses.

Another question though. What about rifle vs. longbow in dungeons?

Longbow or rifle really is a traitline issue. How are you traited for your “main weapon” will determine which of the 2 is better.

None of the longbow traits are worth taking, it’s a waste of a major trait.

I run shouts heal build and imo the hammer or mace is a must. Your taking healing shouts to be supportive so you might as well be support/control. You lose too much dps with sword or axe by not going deep in the arms line.

i use hammer and sword/shield. after experimenting i think it’s the best combo.

I tested shouts-heal build with a full karma-healing power gear…
I deleted it after 1 wek, cuz healing power dosen’t stack well. maybe it will be fixed

I really like this build as a shouts build. Just change the warhorn major trait to shouts and if you want, axe in off-hand, which is what I do, and it pwns.
