Help with WvW/PvE build
C’mon guys, help me out here. 116 views and not a single comment?
Not too sure on gear because I’m not 80 myself, but I myself don’t pick up berserkers power anymore because I tend to use earthshaker alot so I usually don’t have that much adrenaline to make it useful enough, so maybe lose the 10 there and put it somewhere else?
Knight armor + Ruby orbs or other dps runes would give you good balance of defense/dps, Trinkets should either be full zerk/ruby equisite or if you really want more tank get some valkyrie to balance out with some HP, otherwise aim for more crit dmg/power since its easy for warriors to get crit chance with fury and some precision to go over 50% crit chance. You have sufficient condition removal imo, i wouldnt run signet of fury unless you want the adrenaline gain from the active (which is mediocre at best). I suggest taking signet of stamina instead or another utility for dps would be For great justice. Just my thoughts to help.

i am just going to tell you this :
Hammer -team – support weapon
RIfle – range burst weapon
Sword + shield ( mobility + survaivability)
if you trade your mobility and survaivability , your defence is not important anymore, you can walk arround naked or with 3600 defence and 27000 hp, is same, you are frag on map
If you play zerg vs zerg only , or organized team wvw, use hammer and sword +axe
or warhorn, on off hand.
If you want to roam solo , 1 of your weapon sets must include one of the following : sword main hand
Greatsword
Glass cannon -bersek gear is viable as long as you keep 30 points in defence for an pasive endure pain and 1 pasive stability, with 1 active endure pain and stability.

Well I ended up taking the 10 points out of tactics and putting it into Discipline for the extra crit damage and burst damage and chose Adrenal Reserve for the reduces cd on burst skills. I’m also thinking of taking the 10 out of Strength and putting it into Arms instead since I feel like I would get more bang for the buck out of +100 precision than +100 power. Since I main an AH guardian than I should do what a made a warrior to do and that’s damage. I don’t really want to go full glass cannon and I really like the damage and control that a hammer has and I think I would only use the rifle for parts of dungeons and situation based in WvW.
I think you’re right, Rayya, in that I’m giving up too much mobility and defense in not having an offhand shield but I’m torn between a sword and axe for main hand. I really just leveled this guy and didn’t put a ton of thought into the game play of him since I used only a greatsword/hammer for leveling and didn’t really mess around a lot with the other weapon choices (beyond using them to open their skills). I think I want to go Berserker gear for that added damage over Knights. I’ll get a horn to toss in my bag and play around with it more. Is there any reason why you would choose sword over axe for solo play? Is it for the bleeds? It does seem to be more mobile and single target oriented than the axe.

Sword Imo is the best mainhand for mobility/chasing and does good dps. The burst ability actually is usefull for the immobilize which chains into Hundredblade well if u use GS. Axe is great dps but lacks mobility. Its burst skill does heavy single target dps, but its up to your preference what you like. I personally love sword>axe simply for the low cooldown leap, and autoattack is smooth and does good dps, and the cripple is really quick and does decent dmg. Axe is great for dps too though, so its up to you. I always carry a rifle for ranged scenarios, and warhorn is good too for long runs and you need more swiftness.
Hammer + Sword/shield will probably serve you better than Hammer + Rifle
Because of sword mobility, mobility is without a doubt probably one of the most important aspects when it comes to WvW, although the GS does admittedly have great mobility I just don’t like how it works due to how predictable it is.

Yeah thats my issue with great sword as well. He mobiluty is great but that 100b fan be seen a mile away. Ill probably be doing small group stuff in WvW as well so think a hammer would serve me better there. Sword is starting to look pretty as as a secondary set but ill have to play with that and an axe to see what I prefer.

This is exactly what I want to do OP, I am pretty much the same as you. Coming from Guardian, and I want something that’s got great damage but also not too much of a glass cannon. Only doing dungeons/WvW. I’ll give this build a run, hopefully I enjoy it.
So far I like it. I still have to finish my berserker gear but powerful blood is so ridiculous on the broker. Might be cheaper to just buy the insignias. Luckily I have 2 very nice ascended rings that I didnt need on my guardian so thatll save me some money.
