How tough is tough?
Without food, even with Healing Power gear (which by the way isn’t good for a warrior, because our passive heal is only marginally influenced by healing power) you are going to be well below 1500hp per second.
Our Healing Signet heals for 362 + (0.05 x Healing Power) hit points per second, and Adrenal Health (which adds some small passive healing) is useless in PvE because after the last nerf you cannot retain adrenaline in most combat situations.
Not that in PvE you really need more passive healing than that; dps oriented gear can make fights against mobs very short…
A Warrior, in PvE, survives by making the fight short (and, well, dodging).

Basically for an abysmal gain in hit points per second we loose a ton of damage, which in turn makes us less likely to survive because the fights last longer.

That is a shame. I do understand the point in making short fights the key to survival – Overall that was base for my hps theory (that mobs only hit you so hard that You can survive and kill them – the quicker the better and the higher dps monsters retain). Could You truly recommend warrior as the class that is viable to solo ALL of the games content when it comes to combat situations. (i actually soloed whole AC, CoE and CoF, attempting the rest on my tankgeneers in nearby future).
It is possible to get close to 1500 heal per second but not worth it.

Its possible to get about 1000 hp a second, but it requires sacrificing all of your damage and toughness. essentially, you’d be a trophy warrior. not really useful for anything but WOW look at that HP go!
you’d probably be better off with an elementalist or Guardian if you are looking for survivability. Warriors just get jumped on as being “good at everything” because they can spec to be good at things that are normally the foundation of one class, at the cost of their other specs.
In reality though, we heal about 380hp per second, with no protection against down except our dodges and blocks (and healing shouts, at the cost of power.), and we lack blinks, blinds, and stealths; so once someone targets you, you are going to be absorbing 100% of what they throw at you unless you interrupt them/ block, which isnt good for even Warr’s Health Pool.
warriors can spec tanky to solo, but it will cost you maddening amounts of time as your damage will suffer, especially with the recent GS nerf.

I soloed ac, coe, arah, cm with my warrior, but I don’t like playing it- it’s still a really good class for soloing because they have high selfbuff capacity and perma fury along with special buffs ( banners). Being a berserker warrior isn’t really hard, as you have a lot of base health, and dodges/blocks on weapon sets.
tl;dr: berserker warrior is already tough enough for pve, solos included.
there is a trait that makes banners give you regen, also adrenal health and healing signet if you want it to be passive healing. I might look on the 1st healing skill you get for warrior for a burst heal and see if over time (divide the total amount by CD) you get more hps than healing signet. (IDK if regen from banners is better than shouts heal, shouts are a burst heal, and regen is not)
A PVT build shouts heal very subpar build i made allowed me to facetank almost any champ (world champs, didn’t try on dungeons) and not get knocked off 80% hp (even when 2 more people arrived making the champ tougher).
BUT you really have no dps at all… (you gotta go all the way in tactics [vit and boon duration] which has very useless minor traits, and all the way on the thoughness line, so, you get no dmg at all… gear, i used PVT, but could be smth else)

Yeah, for survivability, I think you’re way better off with a Guardian.
Bunker Warrior is a pretty fun build to mess with. It’s originally what I used on mine. Started off with Clerics gear because you ideally want to be a shout healer if you’re going maximum survivability. When Nomad gear was introduced I switched over to that instead. General gear setup goes as follow:
Soldiers Mace & Shield w/ Impact and Paralyzation sigils
Cleric Greatsword w/ Life and Water sigils
Full Nomad armor w/ Trooper Runes
Full Soldiers trinkets (if they aren’t ascended use cleric gems)
Sitting at about 29,000 HP, 2450 Toughness, and 900 Healing Power.
Running the proper build you have 7 seconds of invulnerability, 5 seconds of projectile reflection, and the ability to clear 6 stacks of condi from your party (9 from yourself) every 20 seconds or so. Your shouts heal for 2000-2500 hp each.
You hit like a wet noodle, but you will not die. That being said bunker guardians can retain more damage, but I think bunker Warrior is more fun.
