Hey, I’m looking to start a new class and Warrior has my eye. since it’s the only other class to be able to wield two swords, I’d like to do so with Longbow for ranged. (Drizzt fanboy)

-Is that weapon combo good for PvE? Should I go direct or condition damage?
-Hows Warrior’s mobility?
-What pros/cons does Warrior have over Ranger.
-Any general tips/advice/things of note?

-Can you make a viable “Warlord” build? (Warhorn, shouts and banners for utilities for awesome team buffs)

Swords and longbow both benefit highly from condition damage. Bleeds on the swords and burning on the bow, though your #3 on the bow will be somewhat weaker as a result. For utility, I’d either go full shouts or full banners. The grandmaster for tactics is what make these two support options viable, the heal on shouts and the regen on banners, meaning whichever one you pick will severely cripple the other.

i run a power/precision/toughness hybrid build with condition damage as an extra.

10/30/20/10/0

using the sword and shield and longbow as my main weapons i’ve had a lot of success in WvW as a warrior. the thing to know on a warrior is that strait damage is kind of your thing. that said a little extra condition damage is never to go amiss.

i could go pure damage and do more direct damage, or condition damage and have my bleeds tick for more. but i’ve found that if you split the rations at about 70/30 in favor of direct damage you actually do more damage over all.

i’m assuming that what you want is a WvW build (because this build isn’t very good for pve) and if that’s the case i should tell you that this builds gimmick is all about control. you leap onto one person, tank the aoe and take that person out of the fight. you immobilize them at range with the longbow, leap on them, immobilize them with flurry or bolas and hamstring them.

a lot of people assume the sword is all about condition damage. on the off hand sword that is true. on the main hand sword it is completely wrong. the longsword has incredible ratio’s and a lot of utility, really the bleed is just icing on the cake that is the longsword (with food buffs, traits and runes an incredible potent icing)

Sword offhand is kind of lackluster compared to your other options.

Sword primary builds with at least 25 in precision should be seriously considering going with non-condition damage, because the 10% bonus damage when bleeding only enhances non-condition damage.

Condition warrior is terrible.
Especially in WvW, all single target damage except for the longbow which requires using your burst skill to do decent burn damage.

lv80 with skills fully unlocked, warrior, elementalist and engineer
lv80 Necromancer, all professional skills unlocked, working on the final norn elite skills.

Well to be fair if you were feeling suicidal you could pop Balanced stance, Signet of fury, Endure pain, rush into the zerg and use flurry while a staff mage blows up the area that you’ve got them immobilized in.

I was thinking about having my brother make a similar build because I run a Necro using Epidemic to spread conditions. This way in WvW I call targets we load up conditions and spread them. We will be easily able to hit a full 25 stack of bleeds plus he’ll be able to bring burning and I can do the rest.

I’m sure he could do more damage going another route but I’m hoping a build like this could synergize with me.

Longsword is good, but the problem as with most weapons is our stupid rage mechanic — for longsword, it’s of course a bleed. For the LB, it’s an AE burn.

You end up with a crap ton of condition damage causing attacks, and either you push condition damage and have no real burst, or you disregard condition damage which is sadly figured into your damage total already, and just hit less hard than you would’ve with an axe or mace.
