Our #3 downed skill
If you like Vengeance that much, you should take Sweet Vengeance, that will rally you if you kill an enemy during Vengeance.
And I agree seeing downed enemy players get up cause of Vengeance is annoying.
I dont understand that skill. So you got a chance to stay alive if you kill something:
Do critters count?
what is the chance exactly? does someone know?
How does that work? Do I have to kill 2 foes?
I use that skill whenever I know I wont make it and there are no other people around who might get me back on my feet.
In most cases I am able to kill something within 15 secs but in almost all tries I die anyway. So I do not get it. Also sweet revenge should be a tier 1 Skill imo
I rarely get to use it. When I do, it’s only when I know I’ll die anyway. I’m certainly not going to burn 20 points in our worst attribute line just for the trait to make it work correctly.
@Monki : The skill “Vengeance” will get you on your foots for 15s before being defeated. There’s only one way to avoid it : having the trait Sweet Revenge AND killing a foe before 15s.

You don’t have to have the Sweet Revenge trait. There is some sort of percentage to rally on kill but it is low.
Maybe around 20% or so.
Ah, you’re right. That just never happened to me, I seems to be very unlucky (except in my keys loot)
Yeah there is a chance that you will rally even without Sweet Revenge..whether this is intentional or not I don’t know, don’t care either, because nothing is better than finishing someone off in vengeance and then walking away.
2 Mesmer (sPvP only)
It works best in PvE. The small percentage (probably more like 10%) at least keeps getting rerolled if you kill a big mob of ten or so. Not that you really die that much in PvE anyway.
If you die and rally the enemy, keep in mind that if you had not used it, you would have died earlier – and they still would have rallied.
“If you die and rally the enemy, keep in mind that if you had not used it, you would have died earlier – and they still would have rallied.”
But that’s just it… this isn’t true.
Many times a fight is going our way and will be won by an ally after I have been downed. Or at least, a given downed enemy will stay down as other allies continue the ongoing fight and them staying down is my friend’s best chance. By using the ability I am gambling on the fact that I can now assist in completely finishing the fight within 15 seconds, which of course can be tough given the way some downed professions can avoid finishers.
So now, by my using the ability, an ally may be the last person standing with 15% health and think he’s ok as he hunts around to finish off the downed enemy when much to his surprise…. I drop dead and the enemy gets up.
In fact, there are frequently times where I will recognize this gamble and put off using the ability because of it. It can be expecially bad when it’s after a sizeable skirmish and there are multiple downed enemies.
Since I got “sweet revenge” my survivability in pve got way better. Especially if you play solo is a bit of a must. However the trait is a bit bugged, i.e. if you get killed again while in vengeance when you respawn you will die again due to the ability effect. Also it doesn’t seem to work into story instances (too bad since with SR you could end every mission without dying once).
