PvE Solo DPS Guide (Updated Aug 5th, 2015)
The build uses screenshots of what it used to provide. Signet of Rage was nerfed from 30 to 25 seconds of might and fury in September 2014, it’s just that these websites never bothered to update that.
And you stack might with this trait: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Forceful_Greatsword
And no, you should be caring about might, adrenaline and endurance. All of these things are important when trying to maximise your output. Might caps at 25 but is intensity-stacking and gives you an additional 30 power each stack, so it’s important up until you hit the limit. In a solo setting, you’ll never maintain that with only strength runes + the trait unless you’re fighting more than 1 enemy at a time.
You’re noticing a signet of might activation because of this trait: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Signet_Mastery
It’s not using the one on your utility bar, it’s using a separate one in the trait. That’s why.
Ah I see,
It was weird because I was practicing on the dummy and my might never stacked above 5, which was from signet of rage. These dummies are at the town of clayspool and I guess crits didn’t happen on them since I was doing 0 all day.
So basically, my main goal is to:
1. Make sure I use my arcing slice to get berserker power.
2. Make sure I roll around a bit.
3. Make sure I get the criticals in to stack might.
Anything I’m leaving out? And also, when should I take the chance to manually activate my signet of might and fury on my skill bar? and regarding the signet of might that’s activated by signet of mastery, it does the same exact thing as the one on my skill bar?

It’s more complex than the way you’ve worded it but since you’re starting with the basics, yes go with what you’ve just posted. You won’t be able to fully understand the class mechanics without practicing a lot more.
You don’t manually activate signet of fury during fights unless you need to to fill adrenaline, which can be at the start of a fight. You however will never need to do this with trash mobs in open world and stuff like that. Signet of might shouldn’t ever be activated unless an enemy is blocking your attacks which very very rarely happens.
But, yes the one on your skill bar is the same as the one from the trait
“Signet of might shouldn’t ever be activated unless an enemy is blocking your attacks which very very rarely happens.”
How come? Don’t both of them give you some buffs when you activate it? Why not take advantage of these buffs?
Because 180 power and 180 precision are valuable attribute increases and if you don’t need to make use of active effects, then there’s no point in activating them.
^^ Ahh I never understood what you meant by that, but I recently discovered that the passive stops working once you activate it. Now it’s cleared up.
I also found your GW2 comprehensive guide by you and Element. Very helpful guide and got me to understand a lot of Warrior mechanics.
Any plans on testing Berserker specializations and updating the guide with them?

I will update the guides yeah, it’s just going to take me some time since I don’t really play the game anymore.
If you want, I made these two rotational videos showing the elite specialisation though:

Well I made an attempt at editing the Intothemists guide on the first post but it seems the people in charge of updating the website didn’t update it for HoT, so I can’t really change the traits for it and whatnot.
I’ll have to see what’ll become of the two dulfy guides, but as of right now I am retired from the game guys.
