Fear Me! 80s Recharge time NOT reasonable
quick question, does blind still affect the “fear me!” shout utility?

please fix “fear me!” since it is a point blank area of effect (pbaoe) shout with a radius of 600 thus it should be unaffected by blind.
blind should only affects attacks, not shouts.

Yea, i found it funny that if you are blind, you can “miss” your shout, LOL

Also, I agree with OP – Warriors need more CC.
Necro’s fear can be blocked too ( except the mark if you have the trait ) and can miss if you’re blind.
So you want a better fear than necro, you want it umblockable, fast cooldown and instant and you want to ignore blind ? I know warrior sucks but please… be serious.
That’s exactly why necro are so bad right now, it’s because every other classes can do the same but better. Even rangers have better acces to fear now.. lol.
“Fear Me!” is a shout, my eyes may not see (until i try to hit someone) but your ears are definitely not deaf. YOU CAN HEAR ME SHOUTING !!!!

A blind warrior that shouts “Fear Me” in range can see again. The logical conclusion is that warriors are actually humanoid bats in disguise that use the power of echo location to move around even when blind.
Fear isn’t a warrior class speciality so 80 seconds cooldown is fine.

epidemic has a radius of 600so you are saying,
1. warrior fears me sends victim running into a nearby group, range further than 600
2. fear duration was 4s, 2s remaining when victim reaches nearby group
3. necro epidemic the original victim
4. 5 targets near the original victim gets 2s of remaining fearand … that is OP?
Not only does it spread fear but ALL conditions from the target that was picked for epidemic. so yes that is kinda op.
I main a guardian. I have no sympathy for your ‘long’ cool down.
All fear skills should have their cooldown duration increased. It is not a fun skill to fight against.

Think what the warrior has access to that the other classes with fear on demand don’t. “Fear” is really strong for the class, this is why the high cool down.

This thread is six months old: fear me has already been changed to be on a 60 seconds cooldown, this thread was reanimated because someone complained about fear me being blocked by blindness.
If you are going to complain about something you never tried at least look it up on google or you ll make yourself look like a fool.

as the description of blind condition states

nothing about shouts “missing” so to me this is obviously a bug, non intended feature of the blind condition.

the following would be appreciated:
1. fix fear me! so that unaffected by blind
2. fix fear me! ’s description such that blind warriors are not fearsome
3. fix blind tool tip such that shouts can miss
surely, the 3rd option, editing the tool tip is not very hard, right?
also, the reanimation of this topic serves as an example, that what we say in the forums do matter, though i’m not sure if they (anet) already intended to change the recharge time from 80 seconds to 60 seconds or if my topic really made any difference.

By your logic, about 50% of utility skills that apply conditions/damage to enemies are not attacks, because they have a subtype.

Of course stomp misses when blinded. Also the forum pretty much knows that you are a warrior troll, with all the ridiculous topics you’ve posted in the last time.
I know that this thread is 6 months old, but I just wanted to say that thief’s Skull Fear has a painfully slow animation. If your opponents can evade/interrupt it before it occurs, it’ll often still be canceled because of some random stun from, say, Chaos Storm.

well yeah the thief’s stolen skull fear does have an obvious skill animation.
also, a month after i posted this original topic, fear me recharge time got reduced to 60 seconds from 80 seconds. so what do you think? did they (anet) already intend to reduce the recharge time even before i made this topic? or my topic did influence them a bit when they were going through the skills balances routine etc?

You really Necro’d your OWN thread from 7 months ago, only to suggest that incoming offensive shout attacks should not be blind-able?

There are currently no exceptions to offensive attacks and blind. Blind makes your next attack miss. And it’s not good for the game if Shouts don’t get affected by blind. Why is a big ol’ bomb affected by blind? It’s still gonna blow you the hell up? That’s because blind is working as intended. Please try to see farther than the handle of your hammer, please. It’s bad enough you’ve been lobbying for Warrior buffs since early 2013, regardless of actual game balance.

You’re really reaching here, and splitting hairs. Every ability in the game that affects an enemy is currently affected by blind. Abilities that do no damage, too. There’s dozens of them.

To shut him down once and for all: By his logic if shouts shouldn’t miss when blinded because you’re just shouting, 90% of my elementalist attacks should not be effected by blind because they target the ground and not the opponent, and how can you miss the ground. Hurp durp.

by the way, i have already come to terms with blind affecting non weapon attack skills.
now i’m making a request in a relevant topic in order to revise the in game description of blind so that it matches what it does.
Ehm … maybe you re not a troll ( that is very unlikely :P ) but you are obsessed with
warr and you have not any logic behind what you support (most of the times) , or you have not the right communication tools to express it ( i doubt that ) . For example , if you want to support the idea of blind not affect aoe-ish abilities then start an argument about THAT .
Not about a specific class ability which is at least a bad example. I will give you a good example. Ele earthquake. ele churning earth. The big engi bomb. This skills is truly ridiculous to miss because of a blind.
BUT no one has ever made a thread for any of this skills QQing about blind. So in OUR perspective you are a troll And now i will say something that it will make you be satisfied: From a CASUAL perspective like yours there is not a problem if your “fear me” missed one or two times, after all is a casual game ! Its not like you will lose rating or anything
