Well, today when watching the ESL stream a developer (I can’t use names because I would get infracted again) on chat said that they are watching feedback and the community might try a petition for in-game observer mode for top-rated Team Arena and Solo Arena tournaments and let’s see if there is a desire.

Wouldn’t it be awesome to watch top matches without hunting for stream on twitch? To watch the part of the action you care about? It would be easier to spot top teams/players too and a chance for unknown ones to shine. (ofc with a 10-15 mins delay).

Arenanet can still keep organized tournaments for shoutcasters.

I know the most important things for the community are currently more gamemodes (not too high chances unfortunatelly) / better rewarding (already at work) / skill reveisions, but this is accomplishable at least.

Also, what e-sport doesn’t have it?

League of Legends has this option to observe Ranked games at all times.
StarCraft II does not, but that was because it is limited to the room capacity design

My idea is that add an announcer in HotM that which players can talk to and observe ongoing tPvP matches

Nonetheless, this would be a fine addition to promote Guild Wars 2 viewership.

I do not want this. I only want people watching me on my terms. I don’t always want someone watching me play. It makes me uncomfortable and I wouldn’t enjoy the game if this option was made available for all rated matches.

Top rated, matches, so basically top 100. If there is a match with at least 4-5 guys from the top 100, it would get to the observer. Newcomers should learn from there, not that zergfest mini-wvw hotjoin.
