Somehow beyond logic, GoM can own a tower for 3 hours, not have a single upgrade or piece of siege in it, but still have no supply.

I wanted to go to a low tier server and fight the good fight, so I expected a lot of this, just pointing out a couple of examples on why it isn’t just numbers. GoM is pretty terrible at tactics.
Their only one that seems to work sometimes is the one commander who just screams ‘Brute Force’, has the little zerg, and the other 2 servers happen to be engaged with each other so we can take a few things.

I agree. I get sick and tired of telling people to freaking upgrade once they cap. And I get tired of using my badges to do it myself only to see it lost in a couple of hours.

People either don’t want to upgrade/defend or they are too LAZY to do it. All I hear is when I log on to GOM are people blathering….“Lets take this or Lets take that”

Its EQUALLY IMPORTANT to hold and defend the stuff we have.

Much of this is direct result of pve zerg mentality. We were upgrading our homeworld one day, another guy said why upgrade it, then we cant take it back again later. This is not ring around the rosie, this is battle and holding what you take outweighs taking it back later.

GG borlis. Couldn’t defend that massive assault on ARBL. With no commanders on I’m sorry to say the general AR populace have no clue.

I don’t understand how people can think that it is more important to take (im sorry, attempt to take) a recently flipped tower than defend a fully upgraded keep. I wish more people understood the time effort and money that goes into upgrading a keep to maximum.

Alas, inspite of calling out a countdown till the respawn timer ended we had barely any numbers to fend you guys off due to the importance of dawns lol… (and even by linking the WP and POI for the newer wvw’er people still and no clue where we needed help)

But hey, what do I know, I haven’t paid 100g for a blue icon so in anvil rocks eyes my opinion is null and void.

I can understand that mentality. There is a lot of it on Anvil Rock, and when you come from a higher tier server where defense is seen as the most important aspect of keeping point leads, it is unreal to see people in the lower tier refuse to upgrade keeps.

Things that should happen when you take a tower/keep in my opinion.

Upon taking Towers

1. Smaller guilds should claim them, and apply what buffs they can.
2. Use any supply in the tower, and coming to the tower from the supply depot on siege first, and once you get up a counter treb or catapult, with the right amount of arrow carts, then you start in on upgrades.
3. Help another small guild claim nearby camps, and get them upgraded. If the camps are near the invaders entry way, get a defense to hold the camp, with enough siege for ten people to man, because you’re going to get a lot of action.
4. In the case of towers that are in range of trebbing keeps, get those trebs up after you get a counter/treb or cat up, and only after you get siege up to defend the trebs you’ll be using to hit keeps.

Note: Counter catapults or trebs are placed in position to counter an offensive using those particular siege equipment pieces. One hundred arrow carts do nothing, if the enemy builds catapults and trebs out of range.

Once you start taking over Keeps, larger guilds should claim those, and begin placing siege, and upgrades with a full array of buffs.

As much fun as the Blitzkreig is to take over the entire borderland in a short period of time, I really hate PvDoor style game play, and prefer to slowly fight my way to map domination. It kills me when the zerg enters a map, takes everything until there is opposition, only to watch half, or more than half leave for another map where they are not facing an opposition.

I could go on, and on, but really the post would get crazy long, if it isn’t already. The issue I have is that the alliance on Anvil Rock tells me I’m wrong all the time, and that I don’t understand WvW. These are the same people who will assault a tower, and/or camps and let a fully upgraded keep fall, for whatever reason. It’s almost as if they’re avoiding opposition when at all possible.

I’ll set ya straight one more time, and after that, well that’ll be on you. That treb setup in WC that night, I did alone with running sups outta rogue’s quarry. I also upgraded WC solely that night….when one of your alliance guilds claimed it. You can think you know what’s going on all you like, but you’re another one of those that has been “elected” to receive your icon by the means of individuals buying gold through gold farmers in order to gain said icon, as are many in the alliance. I know some got lucky with the event for the Lost Shores, but I know ahead of time what’s actually going on. THIS is why server’s aren’t allowed to vote for commanders….because large guilds would have a popularity contest about it and automatically vote their guys in just to have a rep for their guild.

LOL I dont have a Commander Tag, but you will see me in team chat, ALOT, helping the commanders, who are all in TS, direct people to what they need to be doing.

As for the treb, I watched you throw it down after the camp was taken back by BP. The reason I know this was I was the one in the camp leading the defense of it so we could upgrade the tower. The only reason I was in the tower was because the Bailsta I was manning in the camp had been destroyed. I watched you take supply from the tower to build the treb!

In all honesty no one would have cared if you had built it out of the tower supply or not, if you would have aimed it at BP’s keep or for Defense. You had to aim it at GOM’s freshly capped Stone Mist. Which managed to bring the GOM Zerg over to Wildcreek. You waypo’d right after I called you out on it, and left the rest of us there to defend Wildcreek with GOM hitting us on one side and BP on the other. That why you built the treb in the first place, to stir up GOM and make us fight both at the same time. Its a shame really, we had a really nice large assult force, not a zerg an Assult Force, all working together getting supply, building seige, taking down enemy seige, defending the camp, speeding up doylaks. Doing all the little things we need to do to be successful. Then one guy comes and messes it all up. On purpose!

I would like to thank you for admitting that you built the treb and was firing it at Stonemist while everyone else was working really hard at doing something else! Proves your not the team player you claim to be here.

Learn how to do multiple frontal attacks, and one person won’t be able to mess it up for the zerg. There is no need for you to insult that person.

Seems like Everybody can 5 vs 30 a Zerg, I’m still waiting for the video.

I can post videos of our group of 4-7 aoeing down 15-40 man BP and AR zergs, but I just haven’t cut them together yet. I regularly record and our guardian records, so we’ll post some videos soon and I’m pretty sure the guardian has already uploaded. We also have some really rather sad video of Borlis Pass having to mesmer bomb our 7 man with 40+ players a couple of weeks ago (and they still somehow manage to lose 8+ players):P, but whatever. Do what you have to do.

Yeah I wasn’t really asking for videos.

It mean to say : Every server have good players that can counter a Zerg. It’s not saying anything about our players abilities.

I don’t travel with the zerg, I travel with a friend of mine. We are outmanned every fight. Even if we win vs a group 3-4x larger then us, it doesn’t mean the other server is bad. It means you felt on a weaker group.

@Bearded, I think you have me confused for someone that cares about your ill fated opinion. You think you saw me portal, but in actuality, I was still very much there when the tower was attacked and rolled through by the zerg. SM was a prime target, but unfortunately for Anvil Rock, the alliance tells…no rather, demands, that everyone stay away from SM because it is “not obtainable” by the many comments on it every night in EB. I don’t know what it’s like for you all not having had the opportunity of taking SM, and keeping it for days on end, I have been a part of that experience and have many defenses of SM to show for it and often against far greater numbers than what you guys face on a nightly basis.

You attempted to call me out….it was a failed attempt. Your time frames are off on captures and defending and of exactly what was going on at the time. Besides, honestly if you were standing on top of me, which you were, how do you really know what was going on. I mean, afterall at your admittance, you were inside the keep watching me and what I was doing…which means that you weren’t even in the “front” of the battle.

Way to stay classy Anvil Rock. Using the same exploit as mentioned before to try and bypass the outer gate and you brought 5+ Golems with you. I think it’s time to make peace with GoM and focus entirely on Anvil Rock. You reap what you sow.

Today was epic on EB. BP constantly tried to take our GoM keep, even with larger numbers they just couldn’t do it. We funneled them and when they finally forced me off that catapult and shortly after breached a wall we pushed them back again…and again…and again.

It felt like someone needed to scream “Spartans! Ready your breakfast and eat hearty…for tonight we dine in HELL!”.

And after that BP gank team we decimated in the puzzle earlier we all had a pretty good time. BP, AR and GoM were all waving each other through and generally just having a good time.

They really are a great guild, I was part of ONXY but there’s too much drama in that guild, while that might be cool for some people it definitely wasn’t cool for me

Those are probably some of the golems I build. I make 15 to 20 a day to let people play around in them. Where they go after they are built doesn’t really matter much to me. People get to use them that never have, and I was trying to draw a few people into our Wv3 that haven’t been in it before. If people are exploiting terrain, I don’t think all of AR sanctions it. I don’t see any of my guildies in the pictures, guild tag [LPC]. However, if it was premeditated and sanctioned, why didn’t they pick a better target? That keep is far too open to try and run golems through, and why the heck didn’t they just hit the water gate with 4 golems to keep the map from flagging? Sorry, can’t see this as being a very coordinated attack, but I will be more cautious about who pilots the golems I build in the future.

Funny you should say this, because good ol’ Ronny came onto my vent to discuss teaming on you guys. Now isn’t this fun!

Thanks for your reply dovgan, I never meant all of AR was part of the problem, but there have been multiple attempts of this over a couple days now of the entire AR force which are in EB at the time all aware of what is happening and taking part in it, therein lies my problem. A collective agreement to openly exploit multiple times.

I never said it was a good strategy, they have failed it 5 times now (and those are only the attempts I have personally been online to see, not sure how many I am offline for and miss) and my screenshots aren’t the best quality, I am playing on a laptop so the culling issue hits me pretty hard, you don’t even see a single golem in the images I posted but between trying to fight off a zerg and the culling/loading issues caused from being between two zergs on a laptop the 5 that were present aren’t even shown in the screenshots.

There was a lot more AR there than the SSs show, commanders present for every attempt and obvious organisation shown when portal bombing inside the keep; but as far as I recall I don’t remember seeing many if any people from your guild taking part in the most recent attempt. I can’t speak for yesterday, I can’t recall.

Well, I hope Borlis and Anvil had a harder time in Gates’ Borderlands today.

I’ve been Awol in WvW packing the last few days, but I can say that most of AR has been against hacking and exploits from the beginning, even when theives hopping walls from the water and other tricks were common place.

That being said, if this is a new change and AR folks are pulling this? Knock it off guys, we’re a better server than that.

Have to agree, I saw something tonight with BP that I thought was an exploit. I’m against that nonsense so I asked the commander. We just had a mesmer hiding inside. I hope people on BP don’t start resorting to this crap because of other servers. It’s like I said before, it becomes an arms race of who can exploit the best. That’s just total crap.

You know there is only one way AR is ever going to learn their lesson.

Because that is a representation of every guild, and player on Anvil Rock, like when Borlis Pass ghosts into Bay, or climbs the mountain, and jumps into Hills. Glad to know the actions of a few, represent the entire servers.

I loved playing against NEWL on reset. Those guys are hardcore. Can we arrange guild vs guild battles somewhere in wvw on Wednesday or Thursday? You guys are awesome and a lot of fun to play against.

Glitching a mesmer inside a tower/keep isn’t exclusive to AR; there’s plenty of cheating to go around. I’m disappointed at the rate bugs are being fixed in this game, and even some bugs that ANet said are fixed are not fixed, like phase retreat (mesmer staff #2).

First off, how kewl are you? I think that’s awesome. Second, can I have your money? Because you obviously have too much. Seriously tho, as one who pretty much only defends BP home turf, I have been wondering what the heck was up with the sudden golem plague. That answers that question.

I have been reading through the posts from this week, and I have to put in my two cents. There’s lots of conspiracy theories about AR and BP, or GoM and BP working together. That’s just not true. There is plenty of woe on our side decrying the never-ending alliance between GoM and AR. Coincidence is a kitten.

Do we have superior numbers? Only in this last week have I seen a sudden surge in strange names and guild tags, and I will second Plok: You can have a good chunk of them back. They are combative, foul-mouthed, and extremely disruptive. You lost no asset, and we do not thank you for them. Aside from that, we have seen a slow and steady growth, not just in player coming from PvE, but in our own players finding where they fit in the structure. Teamwork is what is making Borliss Pass a solid competitor. When AR threw all those golems at our Garry (twice) this week? Our map was mostly unmanned. The fact was, our communication was such that Daiosho only had to spend 15 second spamming a message on his friend list for all of us to descend. It was a hell of a battle, and the numbers were a dead match. The only reasons why we beat 10 golems that had broken into the lord’s room was loyalty and dedication.

Engender that and you will go far.

@Dark Aidget LOL I’m lvl 80 and I play too much. Some people complain about the out manned buff being bad, but I do take full advantage of it (I’ve had exotics drop of road guards). Could have bought commander tag, but really never saw the point in it. As a Wv3 player, all I really do is defense, and after 8-10 hours in one spot, you start getting a little stir crazy and my insanity has devolved into golem nights on AR.

@Wispy, I sent you a PM regarding the issue mentioned above.

EOH was not present for that last night as we were out in Orr doing ore runs and farming the cannon incident in Cursed Shore. The mesmer that got blown through the wall the other night at SM with the 10 golem thing was also out farming near or with us last night as well as I seen the toon multiple times while we were farming different things. What these images above show are the AR alliance guilds using said issue to gain entry to your garrison. EOH is not a part of the alliance…though we have been asked multiple times to join it. However, seeing these images above and our core group’s past with guilds that use these tactics to gain entry to locations or to destroy siege without consequence, EOH will never be a part of an alliance or otherwise that uses such tactics to take something. Most of our people have lots of WvW experience and have no need to use such insulting and petty tactics to get something we want.

Also, from above said images it looks like only the alliance guilds were involved, and only a few of them, so the whole of AR wasn’t involved in said underhanded tactics. I’ve already been down this road before with other guilds leaders and done so in a semi-private manner to deal with the problem at hand….and I’ve seen guildies removed and reported for using said tactics….so I, being me, and we, being my guild/guildies…will never stand for the use of said tactics.

It’s one thing if it was an accident and not intended….it’s another when it is blatently used over and over again.

I usually defend Anvil Rock, but yesterday I’m pretty sure a group did exploit like they said.

I was part of the group attacking OgreWatch ( attacking GoM? Why? don’t know) and while we were attackinh the door, I saw our people inside. I asked how did they get inside? And they started to act like child writing “:)” and one of them even said he wasn’t proud of it.

One of them, Can’t say the name here but I reported him (without proof sadly) sarted to defend is move. He didn’t say directly that he exploited, but after seeing his name I remembered him from 1-2 days ago, when he was asking people about way to exploit wall near the bay.

So this time he was saying thing like : “IT’s only a game” " it’s only for fun" “Each one play his way”. Trying to defend the exploiting. I tried to reason with him, but that was a deadend.

It’s the first week I see him in WvW, might be a transfer. I didn’t get to see his guild tag, but I will try to get it.

I was sad to see that nobodies except me were calling the exploiter. I’ll make sure that player get the ban stick as soon as possible.

There shall be no cheater on this server.

P.S : I’m sure that most people that took the portal didn’t even know it was an exploit. Once I took a portal to go inside the bay. We just lost it so I thought we had a mesmer hidden inside. But when I asked he sounded fishy. I’m pretty sure it was an exploit portal. But I was already inside.

Half the people on AR are PvE player, that just follow the zerg and have no idea what’s happening. They will go thru the portal if asked, without asking question.

P.S 2 : @Drovgan : I’m not lucky enought to fight with you on the battlefield. I think I saw you once or twice. Hope to be at your side someday!

@ Kardia – For all the organized guilds that want to have their name clean the solution to this problem is simple – Do not take any portals if you haven’t hidden one of your mesmers there yourself.

I can guarantee you it’s what our dedicated wvw guilds in Borlis do.

Honestly, when it happened to us the first time at hills I was very sad and pissed off. Right now though, I have come to expect it from AR.

I’m just glad to see that some people on that side know how much these kinds of cheats can actually spoil the game. Ever played Sim City and use a code to get tons of cash? Just not so much fun anymore after that. All those when those things happen.

I’m in a 2 man guild, If I wait until my guild has a portal inside, I will wait a long time.

Actually I think it’s new for AR. They started it 1 or maybe 2 week ago max. I don’t take AR is a cheater server now. It’s only mean some guy transfered there and started expoiting.

I would like to precise that BP expoited our hills last week, but I don’t think we should judge the complet server over it.

Excellent night of…well night capping. We made the BP zergs scramble all over the map, managed to kill off 5-10 players each time they enguaged our 5 man group and then we’d slip away before the zerg got even bigger. Kept doing this over and over.

To be honest, if GoM had more players we’d probably be dominating. We have great commanders, we have good tactical decision making and from what I see most of us are pretty intuitive when it comes to combat.

OK, enough with the negativity. People are going to do what they are going to do, can’t expect to stop them.

That being said, the most fun thing I did this round was a 3 man cap of Bay in AR BL yesterday afternoon. Props to the Warrior and Guardian that share the same “let’s try it” attitude.

Teamwork is what is making Borliss Pass a solid competitor. When AR threw all those golems at our Garry (twice) this week? Our map was mostly unmanned. The fact was, our communication was such that Daiosho only had to spend 15 second spamming a message on his friend list for all of us to descend. It was a hell of a battle, and the numbers were a dead match. The only reasons why we beat 10 golems that had broken into the lord’s room was loyalty and dedication.

I have to reply to this one, but is this a serious post or is this a joke?

Is this another wonderful post about how “awesome” BP organization and skillful playing is again.

You guys didn’t win those two moments because you were “better”, listen dude you won because of rendering issues. If you want to assume real organization and skill, frankly we shouldn’t have even broken into the lords room. The fact we did means we caught you off guard. The fact that you had invisible thieves abusing the rendering issues in the circle preventing us from cap’ing even though we had it twice in a row just means you bought enough time to call your forces. Speaking of forces, notice i’m not calling it a “zerg”, you guys simply run around in circles as a full group. Your more effective like this, because from my experience in fighting your groups, you guys are worthless as separate guilds. BP’s theory of throwing everything they got at the gate because they got bodies to do it may work in this tier but i feel sorry for you when you fight against those with equal population in the wvw map in the next tier.

I had a good laugh when a group of you the other day, came into AR borderlands with 4 or 5 golems to take out our keeps, and we were even outmanned. I mean really?

If everone keeps inflating BP’s head with all this great strategy and tactics they use in game, your setting them up for failure for the next tier.

Had alot of fun in GOM BL last night. We had about 20-25 holding out at greenvale and GOM had at least 30-40 players fighting from bay to front of vale keep. NJ with the 4 trebs? from bay taking our seige out. That was well played. Best part of the night tho was when you guys built balistas and catas by the sentry point and we portal bombed you guys with half the numbers and wiped your group. Half your zerg was so busy trying to push into vale camp they didnt even know 15 were behind killing every1. We managed to portal bomb you guys two times before you eventually over ran us but it was alot of fun. It was good to see a great showing for GOM last night and im sure it felt good to finally out number BP even if it’s only for one night still shows you guys dont give up

As far as exploiting goes, AR and BP are not known for the cheating. We have faced eachother so many times over the months we should know this. OBV both servers have had transfer or people or want to easy way out and try to do these things. Just report them and take screenshots. I’ve alrdy told members of krew if they are caught doing any cheats or taking a portal that was a “cheat portal” they will be kicked from guild and every1 who is on at that time in guild will report that person. With that being said, please make sure you know for a fact that they did indeed cheat and it wasnt a mesmer who actually was hiding and did it a legit way.

I think we had 3.. or maybe 4. The call was to build 2 but then other people got excited. I was the dead mesmer by the ramp calling targets on you guys, so I didn’t see your portal action. From having Bay trebs destroy our ballistas in the Vale camp on Borlis borderlands, we knew that’s how to deal with that nonsense, haha.

The whole thing felt like bizarro world. When you guys were making a stand with ballistas in the northern supply camp, I was just about convinced this was some weird dream.

yea the north camp would have been a good idea but we only had like 10-15 max if that come with us to north camp. Our numbers were too spread out. We had 10 fighting your grp of 10-15 by ur spawn portal or w.e it is while only like 5 or 6 of us were actually at the seige. Then about 15 more GOM came from the side and ran us over. If we would have just stacked on our seige im sure we would have lasted longer.

Probably. I have more love for the simple ballista than any other siege weapon.

First off, how kewl are you? I think that’s awesome. Second, can I have your money? Because you obviously have too much. Seriously tho, as one who pretty much only defends BP home turf, I have been wondering what the heck was up with the sudden golem plague. That answers that question.

I have been reading through the posts from this week, and I have to put in my two cents. There’s lots of conspiracy theories about AR and BP, or GoM and BP working together. That’s just not true. There is plenty of woe on our side decrying the never-ending alliance between GoM and AR. Coincidence is a kitten.

Do we have superior numbers? Only in this last week have I seen a sudden surge in strange names and guild tags, and I will second Plok: You can have a good chunk of them back. They are combative, foul-mouthed, and extremely disruptive. You lost no asset, and we do not thank you for them. Aside from that, we have seen a slow and steady growth, not just in player coming from PvE, but in our own players finding where they fit in the structure. OK, enough with the negativity. People are going to do what they are going to do, can’t expect to stop them.

That being said, the most fun thing I did this round was a 3 man cap of Bay in AR BL yesterday afternoon. Props to the Warrior and Guardian that share the same “let’s try it” attitude.

Not totally true. Do what I did in the last game I was playing. IF YOU SEE IT CALL IT OUT! Post on the forum the names of the people, take screens of them doing it, call them out in chats. Make them for the idiot cheaters they are.

He justs seems to post a lot on the emotion in the forum. But I understand him, as when you fight zerg with a small group, it get really frustrating.

I’m anti-zerg, I hate to be part of the zerg, even if I do it sometime. This is a part of WvW that I wish would be changed over.

I loved playing against NEWL on reset. Those guys are hardcore. Can we arrange guild vs guild battles somewhere in wvw on Wednesday or Thursday? You guys are awesome and a lot of fun to play against.

As for the exploit thing: every server has players that do it, unfortunately. It’s just how people on the internet work :< I applaud everyone that stays steadfast in the face of temptation, though! I think that’s a sign of a really solid game community for it to be as rare of an occurrence as it is, when literally everyone could do it.

it can be fun sometimes if you need Karma/money the 98% for the world map is killing me.
