(Holding Bluelake was pretty kitten fun, except had no idea IOJ had 2 guild catas right at the wall. Several of us jumped down happily from the walls to fight off what seemed like a victory when… the wall fell down. Then we stood our ground at Hills, which was pretty kitten fun. There were like… 2-3 fights going on at the same time within the keep… I never knew how fun fearing people off the cliffs could be…. …… loot bagz!)

But when I /sit and let you revive your friend is it really classy to instantly chase me all the way to spawn with your 6 new friends? Just saying…

I don’t know if it’s been fixed in the last few days or not, but there was a bug you could pretty easily replicate in SAB to keep your camera zoomed out (like in the toad fight). I think that would be enough to see inside the wall, and people could be abusing it.

Yeah, that’s probably what was happening. There’s no way to hit behind that gate unless you zoom way out. The attached screenshots are what he was referring to.

Personally I think things are going rather well for us in IoJ’s borderlands. Pity about the poor Reds, but… Hills looks better in blue, trust me. ^^

Yes unfortunately this seems to be a behavior endorsed by Darkhaven, as I have seen it used just about every time they besiege something. Kind of ridiculous. I would expect something like this from a T1 server, but not here.

Not looking too good for the battered DR in the future. If DH moves up, we’re just going to be going up against BP who also have superior night time coverage than us. And if DH doesn’t move up, well, SF probably will be saying hello next week or the week after, while the vengeful Tier 7 gnaws on IoJ for lunch.

Of course, my money is on Sorrow’s Furnace reaching Tier 5 before Dark Haven.

There are people here and there but very few (no) 5 mans. And without a certain volume no one ever sees each other.

Had a blast in IoJBL late last night. Was fun seeing a few smaller teams running around. Had a group of 3 and we had roaming fights with with a few guilds, cant remember exactly their names. Just a heads up, mesmers are so OP underwater. Enter if you dare! ^.—

Have you seriously learned nothing about how the majority of DR cares nothing for points? You plan on PvDooring out maps down to 0 PPT? Congrats, superior coverage! Skill? not so much.

Below you can see the difference between normal and SAB zoom around the spot shown in the previous screenshots. It looks like it would hard to hit that spot on the stairs, but probably possible. I also am not sure how different it can be with different resolutions for gw2.

I’m not interested in how they do it, I just think its lame that I see it almost every time DH attacks our BL, it gives the server a bad name, including all the legit guilds which I have no problem with.

Even Swinder since he toned down on the lying part has gotten some respect with me after some fun fights.

Personally I wish ANet would just let us pull the camera out that far by default. People placing siege in areas where they can shoot you but you cant’ shoot back is annoying as all hell. I remember how good it felt at Halloween being able to wipe the smiles off their smug faces for a little while. Plus it was nice not having 14% of my screen covered by my warriors big, fat catbutt.

DH I have nothing to say to you guys really, you guys have pretty good commanders but I was lmao last night when [Cast] and a few pugs managed to get back our keep in EB while outmanned and fighting off your zerg. Of course you guys took it back 20 minutes later with your infamous zerging abilities.

Right, so what then would be the point of siege and walls? There’s an obvious design layout to both siege and the castles and what normally can and cannot be seen and what can and cannot be hit. The people in the castle SHOULD have an advantage for a while and the people outside the castle should ultimately win if the people in the castle can’t field enough people to stop you as you cut off supply and whittle the castle down. That’s how it’s supposed to work.

We KNOW you want to bypass the design for an easy win, that’s why we’re taking pictures of you noobs and your exploits. I suggest if you want an easy win go back to modding Skyrim or going extra spaces when your brother isn’t looking while you play Monopoly.

I don’t know why I ever bother reading these threads, its just 2/3 people crying about DH.

When we lost three of our top WvW guilds a few months ago and started our decent in the rankings I didn’t whine about it or blame the winning servers, cause that is just childish. I just hoped that we would get to play a better match up (unfortunately thats still not the case since instead of losing by a large margin we’re winning by a large margin and that still isn’t very fun).

All this talk about bugs and hacks….Getting old, QUICK. If you lose, big deal.
I was in a garrison fight not too long ago, saw an arrow cart up against the wall (wasn’t sure what was going on) and it was taken out in about 30 seconds.

I distinctly remember taking a camp a few times, and seeing a bug that allowed an opposing team to take no damage while on the hillside. You know what we did? We left.

I died more times last night than I have in an entire week, but I just waypointed, didn’t come on here crying that there was some siege on the hill I couldn’t reach to take out, or 5-10 enemies hot on my tail because I was falling behind my group or trying to get out of the spawn.

You win some, you lose some. It’s a game people, not real life. The weapons aren’t real, the armor isn’t real and the gold isn’t real.

I am ready to move up a tier or face some new servers, just so I don’t have to see this whining all the time. (IoJ, you guys are pretty cool though, glad to see you out with more numbers!)

Dear MrFluffy,

I will be the first to admit that the scoring system for WvW is a reflection of how many people are on and for how long. Anet has admitted that they did not consider the coverage issue and they’re looking at ways of changing that. There are definitely times when we take castles of yours when you have no one to defend them. And vice versa. There are times when we outnumber you and times when you outnumber us.

And, I’ll be the first to admit DR could be more organized. We have way too many pugs running around not teaming up and helping get things done.

That said, I think you’re organizational skills or teamwork may be worse than ours at the moment, considering the number of times I’ve seen IoJ people just do kitten stuff like put siege where it can be hit easily and charge at well defended objectives.

The truth is we’re all stuck with anecdotal evidence and a poor scoring system. Until the game makes sure we’re evenly matched and can pitch skill against skill I don’t see much room for bragging besides that which we can take pictures of or make movies of.

I don’t have a problem with anyone beating us fairly. I do have a problem with exploits. You’re straw-manning the real life issue. Nobody here is saying anything more than that you’re cheating at a game. Arrest warrants have not been issued and legislation has not been drawn.

We’re ready for you to move up a tier as well. We’d like to fight you evenly matched and it’s obvious we don’t have the people on this server 24/7 to do that. It’s not our fault Anet’s scoring system is goofy.

If you’re not smart enough to call out an exploit (like the one you mentioned) that’s not really my problem. There’s nothing wrong with a fair game and there’s nothing wrong in asking for one.
