I was there last night, noone else was. Fought a few maguma 1v1, they weren’t really Pvp types so it was pretty lopsided fights
That’s interesting because D\ERP and OG were there last night and I think I counted 2 losses from 30ish matches. The score really doesn’t matter because we want Fight Club to be inclusive, but you should come around in prime time for good fights. If you’re on now, I think a bunch of WaR is there.
No, no. I’ll admit i’m trying out a tricky manta build because i got too many QQs in the last matchup about shatter cat :/
Edit: which btw, if someone doesn’t mind being my test subject over and over again.. please PM <3

I don’t know what all this hub bub of Kaineng is about. They’ve run into no resistance as they are moving up in ranks from their “bandwagoners” xfer’d in. Kaineng’s “gear check” will be in T4 when they face servers that have previously overcome Maguuma’s residents in battle. Just like Maguuma’s “gear check” will be this next matchup to see who’s staying and who’s moving on once we face equal numbers (which I’m hoping for personally so I don’t have to take a good portion of time away from WvW again). While leveling alts is a great time passer and getting more and more into sPVP is nice, I still prefer WvW in this game to many of its other aspects and like when we’re on a more even playing field.
Let Kaineng speak for itself when or if it gets up to our bracket, whatever bracket that may be. We all know that there has been a lot of talk about WM and how they were “THE” guild in GW1, but GW2 and WvW doesn’t rely on only “ONE” guild. This is a team effort and the moment we rely on one guild to “do it for us” then when that guild leaves or moves on, the server gets “devistated” and everyone feels like they’re failsauce, even when they know they aren’t as individuals.
So like many I’ll welcome the challenge if it presents itself, but if it doesn’t then that’ll be fine too. Let us see what’s in the weeks to come rather than speculate on what could be because of a computer and a rating system that is failsauce.
Guess the worse that can happen is Mag does bad in the next matchup, and all the bandwagoners jump to yaks….

No thank you! And curse you for even remotely wishing that terribleness upon us. T4, hell T5-6 are far better (IMO) because it’s more smaller scale skirmishing, coordinated groups making pushes, getting counter pushed, etc. Smaller groups can make a difference, and fights are actually tactical and more fun.
Leave the giant zergball wuvwuv style to the top 3 tiers and just let us enjoy more fun matches instead of blobvsblobvsculling style.

You mean scatter themselves to the rest of the servers evenly like they should have from the start.

We don’t want the bandwagoners, so how is that the worst? That’s the best thing that could ever happen.

Agreed, I hope we get beaten horribly tomorrow. Mag should throw the match, build great monuments to Lord Flame Ram, send our entire zerg to guard a single supply camp at the cost of a tower or keep. Maybe then the transfers would leave.

You don’t want them, and I believe you, but we yak’s sure as hell don’t want them either! Get rid of your trash, but don’t throw it in our yard to do so.

Kitten… what is that? Oh, it’s the culling demon. And look, he brought the blob. So much for that.

Still it was fun small group fights for a few minutes at least. Props to the ele that was waving/dancing with me for a minute outside the ogres. Boo on your thief buddy for trying to gank me while we were sharing a moment of goofing off. But I got his bag, so karma was in action at least.
P.S. And yes, before anyone teases me about it, the blob made it so the graphics had to be turned on lowest settings to avoid stutter there for a little bit. I know it looks like crap, normally it runs on max but with the numbers and aoe that’s been getting slung at us this week… :P whatever, just pretend it’s being played on an N64

Dead matchup, dead servers, etc. Bringing this thread back from the second page.
The Life of an OG, http://youtu.be/Cf4BpfDKtEo.
Some footage from today, in Yak’s BL was fun. Some OG team fights and some solo ranger roaming.
This is a great video. I saw one of your others and didn’t realize you were on Maguuma.
Yeah I moved to Maguuma while ago roamed solo for while, then got recruited by OG.
Love WvW, and Maguuma has great player base.
Sigh. Well time to call it another night. Just can’t do much going <8 randoms trying to make a dent in multiple 25-35 man roaming blobs.
I don’t even know how to setup to defend against that. Running P/V/T armor, P/Pr/T accs with 30 defense tree for 3400 total armor rating and just getting mauled in 2-3 seconds (if I actually get a dodge off when culling shows me there’s the blob around me). Can’t build any tankier on my warrior and it feels like I’m wearing paper.
Bah oh well. Just a demoralizing week vs these numbers. Still for what it’s worth, GG guums…
Perhaps next week will be a more even matchup thought still looks very very lopsided population wise. Ugh
Kaineng’s “gear check” will be in T4 when they face servers that have previously overcome Maguuma’s residents in battle.
I doubt T4 gear checks them much more than it did Mag, but perhaps if CD can somewhat hold during off peak, it should be more contested than this has been.
We knew that Mag and IoJ were working together all along.
Now we have proof!

Five minutes after this picture, there was a third Yak on the map nearby. It was teal.
Just wanted to say great fights tonight against a group of [OG] from Maguuma, we ended up in the north camp dueling a bit. I was the kitten Char Ele, your Ranger was amazing. Would love to know what build he is running, well done. Was the only one I couldn’t handle, GL in the upper tiers Mag!

The ranger would be me, message me in game some time. Your good ele most buckle under my burst and make mistakes under the pressure and good fights.
I’m just afraid that Maguuma is going to be in poor form next matchup since we weren’t able to get much practice this match. We have a lot of new people in our server that don’t push, and don’t seem to know how to combo or play their class correctly. Very little in the way of support and control.
After watching that cool RG video someone posted, we’re a long way off that in organization. I know a lot of our commanders would kill for that kind of tight-formation. This week we can break off to solo and do whatever we want, but that doesn’t help in the prep work. We all need to improve.
For example: Might stacking. When you’re defending right up against a gate or wall, you want to stack that as much as you can before you push outward. I’ve only recently started practicing doing this on my own. I can get about 13 stacks up in my bunker spec so far. I used to just drop the fire field and wait to push out. But now I’m doing ring of fire, earth 4, 5, blast finisher utility, pushing out. I’ve been using a combo all the time now after learning it on the Elementalist forums. Fire 3/4, earth 3 procs a fire shield. I can switch some major traits around for group play that give us all the auras I cast on myself. I can tornado on top of any combo field for various types of aoe procs.
This week I found myself playing more sPVP so I can try out other types of stats and weapon sigils. Playing more with the staff, and sceptre. Basically I wanted to crit as high as I could without getting slaughtered. I found that staff let me do that the best. With the occasional churning earth in D/D.
Berserkers gear does not really allow you to play a roamer d/d (in WvW). I’ve been using knight’s in my bunker spec and it’s okay, but not as much damage as I want. I can solo camps in it without having to break, but it involves a lot of kiting and waiting for resets on water, and utilities.
Diary end.

I’ve been trying to get players to shoal like fish on public mumble for ages now and I’m beginning to sound like a broken record. It is nevertheless really important when fighting open field. If you get in public mumble before reset we’ll practice it a bit if you aren’t familiar with how it works and why you should do it.
Even the natural counters to fast moving, dense formations of players like condition pressure + epidemic, mass chill/cripple/control effects can largely be mitigated with a proper light field rotation. I’ve been trying to get people to call their light fields and whirl finishers for ages. Broken record I know.
I know swiftness doesn’t seem like a glamorous buff, but its incredibly important that everyone is moving at the same speed to prevent a team from stretching out into a long thin line which separates players, making them susceptible to ganks. It prevents players from dumping all their ranged damage at the same time which is important for turning downed targets into dead targets and getting fast rallies.
Broken record I know…
A Final Haiku for this week:
After so much rage,
And screaming we need something.
…..a Muffin Button.
We need proper punctuation in a Haiku.
And we need more hammer-spammers. Never-ending knockdowns is pretty OP right now.
Attention duelists!
The Mumble crew of Maguuma has decided not to defend anything, as is customary of our reset days. You are free to take anything in ANY BL, which means, KARMA TRAINS FOR EVERYBODY.
Sadly, we cannot control the pubs, so you may have resistance. But the core of Maguuma will not stand in your way of anything you want.
Slight adjustment: Mumble crew says you are not allowed to touch the keeps in Mag BL, that’s all.

Playing YB and IoJ is so fun it inspired me to draw a picture of what I saw in EB all week.
Good luck in your future endeavours IOJ and Yaks. Perhaps we will square off under better circumstances in the future.

I don’t watch South Park, but for some reason, your illustration reminded me of Big ghay Al.
Alll on mee~~

Don’t look now but Maguuma is very close to jumping tier 3 altogether. According to the score update site, projected ratings are as follows:
Stormbluff Isle – Tier 2, slot 3 – 1838.9 (3 hours ago)
Maguuma – Tier 3, slot 1 – 1834.6 (36 minutes ago)
You want a beatdown on Maguuma next round, go out there and capture everything possible to make up those four points. We will be sure to lose those fairweather transfers if we manage to accomplish that.

Many of us in TC might be quite excited to see that happen, it’s very difficult to face a superpowered server when the third server is almost empty. The entry of another strong server into T2 will make the matchup extremely interesting.

We’re also quite excited to throw this match and secure Kaineng’s place in tier 2 Hell. We here at Maguuma are always reaching for the stars.

A Thank You to Maguuma for being fantastic hosts to me this week. It was some of the most fun I have had in WvW to date. I wish you luck on getting to settle in t4 or t5 down the road. You deserve all the success you gain and You sure do have a special way of keeping it fun. You have been great competition, You have been stand up people to your new comers despite the fact it’s the opposite you were seeking.
You guys are great.
Considering I have not transferred off yet, I would also like to take this time to legally say, in public..
All Hail the Great Lord Flame Ram!
lol
!..!,
Maguuma will pass SBI by reset time. I PROCLAIM IT!
Think of all the players you get to gank Maguumans. Tier 2 is like an onslaught on people, you can’t spit without hitting someone. You’ll have so much fun.
In the meantime FA will cry foul that they are still in t3 talking of their preparations for t2. It’s like a double troll for Mag. You should be proud.
Moving up 5 spots from a single match up. That’s gotta be a record.
Hopefully it results in us getting stomped.
Blacktide on the EU side is moving down 8 ranks, lol.

wow lol
Don’t get too excited about the rankings on Millenium. Somebody put in fudged numbers for Mag. Their real score is WAY lower. SBI isn’t going to get overtaken.
I’ve submitted the correct ones, and I encourage other people to corroborate it. 100k pt difference there. Whoever did that is kind of a dick, people use that site a lot to check up on matchups if they can’t log in for whatever reason. <_< Too be fair, it might be a legit typo?
Real score:
Mag – 479640, +610
YB – 81204, +70
IOJ – 32547, +15
(edited by Zyk.3597)
That’s interesting because I thought the reason updates were delayed on that site was for a quick confirmation, but if it can just be kittened with randomly…
Last time I tried to submit a score correction that lowered it, it didn’t let me, so I had to e-mail them.
I think I see what happened. Whoever typed in the numbers mistakenly hit the 5 key instead of 4. They most likely meant to report 475210 not 575210. Guess we’ll be seeing FA and DB!
It let me submit it, but perhaps I did it wrong or something. “Confirmation” is pretty hard, unless the Millennium folks have an account on half of the servers. That said, what tipped me off to login and check was the massive disparity between the total points in Kain’s matchup and this one. I really hope ANet releases some web tools for displaying the score and on-the-fly rankings easily in the future…
Yeah, probably an honest mistake.

I figured millenium just had 1-2 people on each server, they checked the submissions periodically, and confirmed the update. It’s a much easier process than one guy with 50 accounts.
All Hail the Great Lord Flame Ram!
lol!..!,
You’re practically a Maguuman. As the official “unofficial motto” states, you are an important member of the community.
A Thank You to Maguuma for being fantastic hosts to me this week.
I imagine you didn’t learn much because we were being dumb 18 hours of the day from boredom.
Good luck in your future endeavours IOJ and Yaks. Perhaps we will square off under better circumstances in the future.
We really enjoyed the fights with Mag prior to the transfers, now not so much. Quite possible we are in for another week of the same with Kaineng, oh well. It will be nice when the dust finally settles from the free transfers and the tiers even back out again.

People should enjoy a match based on how much fun they have fighting with their servers community rather then who they’re fighting against. A solid server community, even when get wrecked in a match, is addictive. More people trickle in when they hear their guildies talking about the crazy stuff that happened in w3, and eventually word spreads across servers.

OG are overrated, hopefully when we get stomped next week these fair-weather blow-ins will leave the server instea dof hanging around thumping their chest about spawning some waypoint or other.

Wooosh! Way to miss the point entirely.

I got your point, I responded to it, it may be you confused yourself. You didn’t enjoy fighting Maguuma after the transfers, indicating you’re upset about the appearance of being outnumbered every fight. I explained why you shouldn’t be upset, if you meant something else, try more context and less smiley faces.
