I’m not sure if you’ve made your choice already but as a representative of Sanctum of Rall I would have to say, please don’t come here. We’ve turned away guilds already because we don’t want to destabilize our community or become overly stacked.

If I were you I would move to a Tier 2 server. Every server in Tier 2 seems to be pretty stable, and all of them have some great WvW players. I’m not sure what TC thinks about transfers, but if you could get in (what with them being a “Full” server) they would be a great choice.

Of course that could just be me being selfish because if SoR ever fights another server with a really great NA I get to have more fun

I would recommend Rethesis looks carefully at JQ or FA, but the water is always nice and sand always warm on the Tarnished Coast

It’s a shame our beach real estate is so exclusive; we might have to make some more beach because the current one is full.

TC would be more than welcome to have you guys if you choose to come here. Mind you that joining any of the constantly full servers in T2 (TC, BG, DB, JQ) will require some patience.

Wow, so much FA love in this thread, and a lot from TC (our former arch rival). I say former because relations have improved 10000000x fold. Respect TC, you are good folks.

I think FA is the only server I could think of that truly needs RE, with BT gone I think they could use more NA players. SoR while they have room don’t seem to be hurting for NA, but they’d know better than I how their queues look at those times. I wouldn’t touch DB for 30k gold, and since you’re from the kaineng bandwagon I doubt you’re looking for Kain 2.0 anyways.

Being currently on DB I can agree in a way, but DB has always been pretty stable and not rising up from a low tier. I doubt DB will suddenly drop down. Skill lag in t2 is pretty annoying. If you can’t handle massive skill lag on raid nights, I do not suggest t2, I would go anywhere from t3-t5.

Wow… O.o this has to be about the most popular “where should we go?” thread I’ve seen in a long time. Either RE has a really good rep and a lot of servers are trying to recruit them, or a lot of servers are in need of some bodies around NA time (or probably a bit of both actually).

Anyway, JQ would love to have you. Today, at around 7:00 CST, we had no queue on any map including EB. I hope that gives you a little insight in to the real population drought we are experiencing at the moment. There was a time when JQ might have queues on every BL by early prime time, but those days are gone.

As far as the actual character of WvW on the server, just know that JQ has basically 1 large NA prime guild (my guild SF). All the others field much smaller numbers, but are still tenacious and powerful in their own right. As a guild fielding around 40 per night, you would be among the largest guilds on the server. The upside to having all these small guilds is that you have some excellent small groups to help do ninja attacks, Havok work, anything that you might have to delegate to members of your guild, we already pretty much have going. What we actually lack as a server are larger guilds who can field nearly an entire map. SoR has always had these guilds during NA prime, and it makes them an incredibly strong opponent because they are usually acting as one cohesive unit.

I think you guys probably know what you are looking for as far as what flavor of server, so i’m just trying to give you the lowdown on what is happening down there on the ground on JQ. Either way, best of luck to RE, and i’m sure that any server you decide to settle on will be better for it .

I would ignore anyone who makes assumptions about DB who is not on DB.

I can tell you that being on DB since I started this game that our WvW community is strong and resilient. Those who have been here forever know what I am talking about. We have been through a meat grinder and back again. The natives here are loyal this includes guilds like NNK, TFV, and EA. We were offered everything to move to other servers but we will never go. We are the same guilds you fought on Darkhaven, remember us? Many of the guilds who joined on our slow rise in the tier are still with us like TG and BP. The newer guilds like Agg, RE, rB, and CO joined us because they saw more potential in our server as we were headed to T2. Many of these guilds joined us because they wanted something new, a place to start fresh. In T2 without those guilds we would have been slaughtered only to bounce back and forth. With their joining DB brought about very stable T2. We have never had any drama between any guilds with no alliances. There is no shift work here, there are just guilds and people working together to enjoy the game. Everyone on our server is free to do as they please. If you enjoyed T2 the last time you were here, come back. I’m not saying join DB ... choose what is best for your guild but do not base it on these forums and the trolls. ;D

If you are wondering about queues, during reset onwards three maps are fully queued for an extended period of time usually about 15-30mins while there is alwAys one map with no queue or a very short queue. Afterwards on weekends during NA prime only two maps are queued. During weekdays generally only one map is queued sometimes two. More maps can be queued depending on different guild raid night.

If you guys still remember us [Omen] way back from Darkhaven, we’ve been fighting with you guys since GW2 Opens. Before we left DH and Transferred to JQ we know you guys [RE] and Ethersin are leavin too.

Considering DB as a new home is the best idea.
We were at JQ and transferred over to DB and we can say that DB has the best community. Each guilds do communicate and strategize for every move we are doin.
And DB really needs more NA presence for the oceanics/sea guilds in DB can focus on our prime.

Honestly, it depends what your guild is looking for.

If you want to be a balancer come to JQ.
If you want to be a builder go to DB.

I would not suggest SoR, BG, or TC. All those servers have full NA maps across the board.

Just to comment on this b/c your comment about DB was a little silly. You can’t compare any server to Kaineng. Kaineng was a Tier 8 server that was propelled by 3-4 big guilds that transfers there up 6 tiers in 1 month. Lol, you can’t compare ANY server to that. Dragonbrand survived a max exodus and made it up to Tier 2 on their own. They deserve mad props and credits. Most other exodus servers are between T3-7.

So give Core-DB the respect they deserve. It is not a project or fan club to come here. You come here if you enjoy the community and want good competitive WvW with dedicated guilds around the clock. Unless you are an EU guild on DB, you are never alone and always have other guilds running with you.

In PvE you’ll have community guilds that offer all the guild missions to all members of the community almost daily. You have guilds that will farm and help you out. Do training sessions and theory crafting (not that Rethesis needs it). You have a server that is not fair weathered and comes out to fight everyday simply because we love to fight. Old DB is tough and will pound at you even if your force is bigger and new DB doesn’t care who is infront of them (at least when I’m on the field) and we will fight for fun/PPT.

Winning and losing doesn’t mean kitten to stable servers. Hype up or hype down, you want a server that can offer a good fight and will fight for a good fight everyday until the next reset. You want a server that doesn’t get demoralized by losing by 5k or by having their BL trolled on. You want a server that is resilient and strong. I think most people talk smack about DB because they can and hey why not its am easy target.

With the changing matchup, the new competition will always excite the WvW community. On DB you don’t see tagless players running around. Everyone (most people in WvW) are in an organized raiding guild , big or small. Mainstream or behind the scenes. It is a really good server. It does have down sides which you know. Those are weak early NA and lack of Oceanic. Dragonbrand members are polite to each other in map/team chat MOST of the time and there is no inter-guild drama or drama between Core DB an the new guilds. Anything said otherwise is BS. In the few weeks i’ve been here i haven’t seen any troll talk or cursing at each other in Lions Arch which was a relief after being on Kaineng. Everything else is on par.

Dragonbrand should be on your list of options and strongly recommended as others on this thread have suggested.

Here’s my take: Rethesis, feel free to come to DB. While on DB, please farm loot bags from our opponents, but save some of that loot money in case you want to transfer again. If you decide to do so, core DB will wish you well. Of course we prefer the “DB spirit”, which means no intraserver trash talk and other such drama.

It can be done quite easily it just requires manuveuring on all sides. I.E blackouts, coordinated efforts and just observations of when things open up.

Meaning if a large group of players decide to stop gaming gw2, then your server is full till active players transfers off. There will be this problem when ppl transfers becos of WvW and players who are heavy PvE will not bother to transfer to give these slots away because of the guest feature.

Blackouts don’t really work anymore. They can be organised to happen but it can take up to several hours before it’s registered that a large body of players have logged out, by which time others on the same server would have logged in. Ask any guild transferred recently to a full server, blackouts wouldn’t have worked. There are small pockets of 3-5 mins occasionally throughout the week where a full server becomes very high, but then trying to get 350+ people through that small time frame is impossible, the only way to get a guild of that size transferred to a full server is over the period of a few weeks.

As of right now, we are honestly unsure of which server/tier that we want to go. Obviously because of how passionate many of our members are about WvW, we want to maximize our enjoyment of WvW, but it does not mean we are looking into t1/t2 only. However, I personally believe that competitive & fun WvW matches can occur in other tiers as well, especially, with this new matchup system which we are very excited to see.

Like I said in the first post, we currently have more than 350 members. The daily RE WvW time we would have ~40 players in our zerg, more on reset. We always have players in WvW during the rest of the day, although it gets slower outside of our primetime. It is hard to estimate but I would say at least 80% of our active members play WvW. Of course some are more WvW oriented than others. I can’t predict how many are transferring but our main goal is to do everything we can to maintain the unity of our guild. None of us want to lose our friends during this process.

Tbh, forum posting makes me anxious :P (I think this is my 3rd post ever on the forum). I made this post for RE but Ethersin and other officers are checking it more regularly than I am. I personally do not want to discuss why we are transferring on this post because I would really like everyone to focus on the main purpose: informing others about who we are and what we want in the future. However, since now we have invited leaders from several severs to our TS today to get to know us better, any questions regarding our decisions will be answered then. If you are interested in joining us during that meeting, please contact Ethersin or myself in game to get more details.

I suggest you narrow your server search down to 2-5 servers. Then get one of your senior members or officers to transfer to the server and check it out for a couple of days. I want to make a point as well to be careful about taking monetary offers with transferring. Most servers with a decent community can organize a form of fundraiser to help with transfer costs.

We would like to hear from a variety of servers that reached out to us today during the meetings.
Once that concludes and we have a better idea of how the new matchup system works, it will be easier to narrow down our choices.
Also ty for the advice I think it is important to focus our priority on the long term benefits for our guild.

Good luck original RE. If you decide to come to DB, I think you will quickly find that the server just feels like home. Though the excellent wvw prospects are what first got many guilds looking at transferring here, it is definitely the stellar community that always seals the deal.

I know you’re only looking out for your server, but don’t you think Mayoken/Noodles etc. are being a little overzealous in their attempts to recruit any and every person/guild they can lay their hands on? I used to cringe when I saw JQ copy-paste their recruitment thread as a response to any guild looking to transfer. Don’t be that guy.

And we filled out our SEA slot which was severely lacking, whereas people on your server are attempting to stack timeslots which already have a respectable presence.

Go to FA or JQ. DB/TC are full and strong in their respective timezones. They don’t need anymore transfers to imbalance that in my opinion. JQ could use NA though, and so could FA.

Tbh, forum posting makes me anxious :P (I think this is my 3rd post ever on the forum). I made this post for RE but Ethersin and other officers are checking it more regularly than I am. I personally do not want to discuss why we are transferring on this post because I would really like everyone to focus on the main purpose: informing others about who we are and what we want in the future. However, since now we have invited leaders from several severs to our TS today to get to know us better, any questions regarding our decisions will be answered then. If you are interested in joining us during that meeting, please contact Ethersin or myself in game to get more details.

How are you not looking for t1/t2? In a server-wide meeting Ethersin gave the Kaineng community an ultimatum… “if we move to tier 4 we are transferring” (paraphrased)

@ OP. I have a couple of questions. I do not speak for my server. My questions and comments are my own.

What kind of server are you looking for? T1/ T2, mid tier, or low tier?

How many WvW players are we talking about? 15, 30, 50? And how many would actually transfer?

In FA we have a stable community, but we need more coverage. Lets say RE comes to FA. Considering you have already transferred servers, and are now considering transferring again, what would keep you from transferring out of FA if we drop to tier 3? That is, why are you transferring?

As of right now, we are honestly unsure of which server/tier that we want to go. Obviously because of how passionate many of our members are about WvW, we want to maximize our enjoyment of WvW, but it does not mean we are looking into t1/t2 only. However, I personally believe that competitive & fun WvW matches can occur in other tiers as well, especially, with this new matchup system which we are very excited to see.

Like I said in the first post, we currently have more than 350 members. The daily RE WvW time we would have ~40 players in our zerg, more on reset. We always have players in WvW during the rest of the day, although it gets slower outside of our primetime. It is hard to estimate but I would say at least 80% of our active members play WvW. Of course some are more WvW oriented than others. I can’t predict how many are transferring but our main goal is to do everything we can to maintain the unity of our guild. None of us want to lose our friends during this process.

As if DB isn’t stacked enough already; if you care about balanced tier, FA should be the only server in Tier 2 that you’d consider. Stop asking people to move to DB. Meanwhile, FA has lost two of its more prominent guilds, both of which played during the NA timeslot.

3) TC tries to recruit too so stop being a hypocrite

I believe TC has stopped actively recruiting in the manner DB has once it hit full status.
