Hey I’m trying to build some WvW builds with a number of classes starting with a guardian Mace/Sh and Hammer, bunker build.
So Iam wondering what stats are worth the investment for WvW and what stats aren’t.
From what I’ve seen the stats of importance is
Power
Toughness
Vit
Crit DMg
Prec
Cond dmg
Heal power
plz help WvW guru’s
If you want to “bunker,” (honestly rather useless in WvW,) I would basically do full cleric armor/jewelry with Soldier’s Weapons.
So
Healing Power > Power = Toughness > Vit.
Precision/Condi Dmg/Crit Dmg are all rather useless for a bunker guardian because they do not help it fulfill the role of sustaining.

hm, what is good for WvW then?
im using sentinel + knight gear.
but if u truly want to a bunker, i guess mix of sentinel cleric with melandru rune will do wonder.
rather than mace/sh, staff is better i think

Good for doing what in WvW? There are many good trait and gear setups for WvW. Its more important to know WHAT you want to do in WvW and build for it.

just want to be able to take dmg and staying alive long enough for enemies to fall, or run.

In what situation. A bunker guardian in 1v1 isn’t going to be able to cause “enemies to fall or run,” at all simply because of the lack of any sort of damage output.
If you mean zerging then any build will do it doesn’t matter, because all you do is spam #1 anyway.
what stats are worth the investment for WvW that is the main question. with the same amount of toughness or power one still out weights another. This question isn’t exclusive to a particular class or situation. Use your experience of WvW to answer the question; what most people do in WvW? and within those people, what moves, or class do they use most? Use your own way to answer this question~ from your experience.
Well it all depends on what you want to do AND what you are good in.
I see plenty of players that invest everything in pure power/prec/crit and don’t care what happens to their mates cause they have no mates. I often do WvW runs with players in my guild and the new ones are always the ones with self-sustaining builds but without any real importance. If you want to be succesful, be a team player: that is support your fellows.
Now, I run a support build, but it is recommended you have a team for that, cause you only get any profit out of it by helping others. Guardian is the perfect class for this so that’s why I bring this up.
Basically the purpose of this is to have high tanking values and high healing. I run full cleric’s armour + sapphire orbs and sapphire jewelry + orbs. Weapons have soldiers: staff and hammer.
Why these weapons? It’s a support build and these are the best support weapons:
Staff:
n°2 skill has a area heal of 2k, just double tap it to detonate it, healing yourself and people around you.
n°3 skill has the swiftness buff, which is very useful in wvw
n°4 skill is a channel skill with a final aoe heal: every pulse of the skill (there are about 5) will heal you for 1k and the final will aoe heal for 2,5k.
n°5 skill is good for stopping zergs (a not crossable line), this often requires you to be the last man, because you want the zerg to attack you and not your dps mates. You can outheal and block them.
Hammer
n°2: combo finisher, when paired with a water field gives a 1k+ heal again
n°3: a nice immobilize
n°4: throw back an enemy that wants to stomp your ally
n°5: a ring that can’t be crossed: again stop zergs and protect allies
Heal: any, but not the signet
Utilities: free choice, but shouts preferred (hold the line, stand your ground, save yourselves) and the elite should be the tome of courage (30K+ aoe heal)
so Guardians can only support and tank? I thought this game is advertised all roles can do whatever O_o.
Anyways if I want support I would of gone Altruistic build =/
From what I experienced 19- 22k hp and rest should be on toughness to avoid lucky stacked Burst crits. toughness is worth stacking and healing is only good to around 300. power around 3100 mark and balnced CD and prec.
having atleast 2 break stuns, and a semi effective condition removal is enough.

if u talk guardian u need like 16k hp rest toughness and healpower. saying 300 healing good is false. your dodge heal benefits a lot from high healing power. Guardian is not as dps, it scales horribly with critdmg.also precision is very important on guardiain
so -healing power toughness precision are main guardian stats

From what I remember a healing formula was shown and proved that healing isn’t worth the investment over around 300; infact 300 should be more than enough perfect benchmark is around 250. unless they’ve changed something in the last 4 n 1/2months it should still be the same.

Max healing power.
full cleric gear 0/0/30/20/20 AH build
sigil of stamina
and u do fine
It really depends on what you want to do with your guardian. I run in groups of around 10 mostly and play a boon support guardian (0/0/10/30/30). I focus on providing boons, staying alive and tossing out decent heals. I make sure my crit is around 30% so it’s 50% with fury in order for me to achieve permanent vigor and provide might for my party on pretty much every hit.
I keep my healing power high enough to achieve 1k heal dodge rolls (think it’s around 900 healing power or so) and the rest goes to vitality and toughness so I have 20k health and decent armor. Runes and food go towards providing me with an extra 60% boon duration for 90% total.
I run staff for all the support skills and greatsword or hammer depending on the needs of the group. Usually greatsword for the pulls and mobility, but sometimes hammer for the blast finisher, immobilize and circle of warding. My guardian is decently tanky and my stat priority for gear was as follows:
1) precision -> 30% crit
2) healing power -> 1k dodge rolls
3) vit (I rank vit higher than toughness because necros are usually most dangerous)
4) toughness
5) power
6) crit damage
7) condi damage
