6 – I like Ninelives, but Grimlock sounds too much like Rytlock for me.

Lesus Goldmane is mine, (wanted the first name to sound Roman so ends in -us [masculine] and he is gold coloured)

I gives you a 8 because I’m nice. Now mine is Cornelius Softpaws. The Soft warband is named as such because we boast to have the softest fur in all the Legions.

I will give Cornelious Softpaw a 10 on the adorable meter but a 2 on the Charr meter, does not strike fear into the hearts of your foes.

Garm Rageclaw, named as such because well he is angry with big old claws

9/10. Would’ve been a 10 but “Garm” makes me think of the adorable pet of Eir Stegalkin.

Bahn the Reaver. A Gladium necromancer, armed with the Scythe staff skin, and a skull masque, that he seems to never take off.

9/10 on Bahn the Reaver. 10/10 For costume

Silvermane id give a 8/10. Sounds really cool but not that scary for charrs

Feral because when he enters battle he goes bloodthirsty with his sword (hes a warrior)

Khallum Feralblade, i rate at an 8/10. Good solid legionnaire name, but nothing especially stand out about it.

Nine Devils. He is an independant Charr engineer, released from formal service within the Ash Legion in order to pursue global goals related to the defeating of Zhaitan’s horde as they march across Tyria. Sounds like a boring job? Yes, but it involves multicultural intrigues and napalming undead in all their forms! Muahaha!

Nine devils sounds more like a title than a name, but it is intimidating 7/10.
Florgus Windshroud, ranger.

( not to derail this thread, but I realize the error on my part. Nine Devils is actually his nickname. )

Florgus Windshroud, of the “Wind” or of the “Shroud” warband? I am guessing “Shroud” warband of the Ash Legion (sounds like a typical Ash warband name). “Wind” alluding more to the Ranger profession (either the natural magic, speed, or the flight of your arrows). I’ll give it an 8.

Surbrus Mindfang: “Mind” alludes to profession and position in the warband (Mesmer and leader), as well as alluding to the more cerebral nature of the character (interested in history/secrets/forgotten [gods]). Fang being the warband name, an Ash Legion warband specializing in small scale, and precise operations (often tours of duty in the Mist war, mainly focusing on cutting enemy supplies).

The first name is so, because that is my convention for ease of recognition.

The name flows off the tongue nicely, and a somewhat interesting back story, so I’ll give it a 7.9/10.

Riltmos: A former member of the Iron Legion and Stone warband who was forced to flee as a result of being suspected as a Flame Legion spy. He now works as a General of the Shield for the human noble family of Lasarilia. Riltmos is very weary of everyone he works with and really only chose the job so he could kill human thieves without getting in trouble, and money. Unfortunately, he lives in Beetletun, as a result Riltmos rarely meets other charr and he knows he is unable to join another warband since the risk of someone knowing him are too high. This causes a mental turmoil within him knowing he has to be with a race that he doesn’t like very much but has to tolerate for the sake of his job.

Edit since I don’t want to make a new post: He doesn’t have a full name because he doesn’t have a warband. So technically it is his full name, but it was once Stonebreaker.

Karron Cinderfang is my name, engineering is my game and for a while my playground was the Black Citadel and its Iron Legion workshops. Matters of ghost extermination, shaman parentage and ultimately necromantic mischief tore me away from my beloved workshops and the many many MANY explosive “toys” i had there but oh well… In the end i was swayed by the Vigil and the promise of lands far away in need of exploration and… cleansing and after many months of travel i managed to get to the lands of Orr and have fun (it’s became clear to me that a well placed grenade can be just as good in eliminating undead as any big, heavy sword).. my only regret is my atrocious sense of direction, which caused me to trek all over Tyria before finally reaching Orr…. no thanks to Treharne, or as i like to call him, Twiggy. My next target is the mysterious Mists, and their endless battleground.. now do i take a left at Lion’s Arch or a right at Ebonhawke….

I’ll give you a 10/10 for name and backstory. You do know that there’s a map in the bottom right hand corner of your bag?

Shazyx Shadowdawn. I’m the legionnaire of the Shadow warband. The dawn part of my name comes from my reputation as a thief who strikes at dawn, an the first battle of my warband took place at dawn, in which I played a crucial part. I’ve rebuilt my warband after all but my sparring partner Clawspur still alive. But now, with a full warband (it has 4 Charr in it, which is apparently full?), I have learnt that my sire has stolen an artifact of great importance and has become a gladium. I will hunt him down and discover the truth, whatever the cost.

A gluttonous and intelligent smooth talking Charr warrior from the Gorge Warband. The Blade comes from his weapon of choice, preferring to use a sword and board in combat.

Most charr names I see on npcs sound alot more guttural.

Garrik Smokeshot: Charr eng.

Garrik Smokeshot. 10/10. You get mad points for being named after my favourite character in Star Trek DS9, and Smokeshot is a good solid surname for an engineer.

I have lots of Charr, but i’m only going to do this one more time.

Kurn Ghostblade. He’s my blood legion ranger, from the Blade warband. I didn’t pick that warband name, but I went with it. Kurn chose Ghost as his warband surname because its his job to run supply trains through treacherous territory, and are not meant to be found. Ironically, he’s also named after a Star Trek character (Worf’s brother, played by Tony Todd)

My Charr’s name is Nyoka Gorefell.
I got the name “Nyoka” from an online list of names with sinister meanings. Nyoka means “snake”. This fits her personality because she is ruthless and clever, with no loyalties. Her only goal is to rise to power, and she’ll turn on you as soon as you cease to be of use. Her treachery would have gotten a lesser soldier branded traitor long ago, but she is clever enough to escape the consequences of her actions, while reaping rewards.
Her surname, Gorefell, was chosen because “Gore” warband is fitting for a Blood Legion charr. “Fell” sometimes means evil, which fits Nyoka’s nature, but it also fits her back story because she was promoted from fahrar to soldier after winning a battle over “the gore-splattered fells (plains)”

To the person above me, 9/10. I really like his first name—it’s simple, but it works very well for a charr. I also like the fact that Kurn chose his surname based on his duties as a soldier—that was a creative decision on your part as his maker. I took one point off because it seems like “blade” is a really common word for charr surnames, but overall great job.

^Nyoka 9/10. Cool name, rolls of the tounge nicely.

Felix Beefguard – 9/10 – I lol’d. Beefguard needs a backstory!

Grim Jagerkin, leader of the Jager Warband under the Iron Legion. While in the fahrar, his warband was trained specifically to think like the Norn in the ways of hunting big game and using Charrzookas, artillery strikes, and good ol’ fashioned bullets to finish off their prey. Grim is a warrior who favors high-precision rifles built straight from the Black Citadel to shoot targets from out of sight, but knows there’s a time to use sword and shield for work that’s up close and personal. These habits are further instilled when he joins the Vigil to combat the Risen from Zhaitan and subsequently becomes Commander of all Pact forces.

Rend Ashbourne – Ash Legion Thief.
His favorite sparring partner? Dinky. His Order? The Order of the Whispering Kittens, ofcourse !

Rend Ashbourne – 7/10 Sounds like a pretty short and generic name. A little lacking on the background info too.

Haztion Withermane, Guardian of the Mane Warband, formerly of the Steel Warband. “Wither” because that’s what he does in battle; outlasting stronger warriors, withering them down with his defensive and curative skills before delivering a quick decisive blow to the head. Much like Dinky, he too was quite the runt, and as a Guardian, was picked upon quite a bit, seemingly being branded as “weaker” by the other Blood Legion charr. Haztion was both his best friend and sparring partner since their fahrar days, taking care of Dinky whenever he could, making sure those who picked on him never did so again. While Dinky was defensive with a mace and a shield, Haztion was more on the offensive side, wielding hammers and greatswords. As such, Dinky looked up to Haztion as more of a blood brother, rather than a friend or as a leader.

A good soldier fit to be a Legionnaire; he had to serve under Urvan Steelbane, whom he openly defies for picking on Dinky. As such, at Dinky’s behest as to not to start any trouble, he keeps most of his anger in check, although he had no issues beating any of Urvan’s goons to near-death when they tried to detain Dinky for something trivial.

When Rytlock gave him the opportunity for the promotion, he relished it and took full use of it, doing what Urvan would’ve done in his shoes; ending his life once and for all.

As a Legionnaire, he is known for his rational behavior and for giving results, despite the small, yet specialist nature of his Warband, using each member’s skills to its maximum, and even as force multipliers whenever possible. It was because of this reputation, in addition to Rytlock’s insistence, that he was let off the hook when he assisted his sire to escape from his prison cell. To this day, he still waits for the inevitable message, sent to explain his sire’s actions once and for all.

He later joined the Order of Whispers, preferring it over the overly Militant Vigil and the ever-studious Priory, as it had a similar style to how he would fight, not head on, yet striking critical points without taking too long to think about them.

He still drinks apple cider at the end of each day, as a sign of respect and remembrance to Tybalt Leftpaw.

PS: If anything, doesn’t his name sound like a mixture of “Hairy Bastion”? If anything, he is, but totally not on purpose.

6/10 – On the one hand, obviously not a great Lore name. On the other hand, the idea of penguins with big crazy horns and teeth charging into battle with Charrpenguinzookas is too excellent to overlook.

My Charr: An Iron Legion Engineer with sufficient “esoteric” engineering skills to earn a semi-official place on the Asura Weather Control Krewe that’s in his Guild – Griever Stormlion.

8 – Griever is sufficiently guttural and brutal, similar to words such as cleaver, reaver. Stormlion I really like.

My Charr is a female elementalist called Kara Stormhex.

Kara Stormhex is a nice name 7/10, I like it.

Warrior = Brutalustaka : Her eyes are red because one its an appealing color for the lust part for battle. Her fur is yellow with black stripes and she’s a charmer. So when she fights ya you’ll her charming words coming from her. Her armor is Black and Red which makes her Crimson Black Warrior.

Guardian = Azura Coldpaw : Her eyes are blue and her fur is white with black stripes. She wears Blue armor because it suppose to match her first name as loving the blue color while her last name fits the Coldpaw part for having white fur. She fights with dignity as well.

Elementalist = Pyra Firapaw: Her eyes are light orange and fur is orange with black stripes. Her armor color is orange and black to go with her theme. She’s also another charmer like Brutalustaka, but she her lust comes from being a pyromaniac.

Mesmer = Lavenda Rosepaw: Her eyes are light pink and she has black fur mix with white fur. Her armor colors are black and pink to give her a dark lovely sweet theme. She’s an aggressive type which makes it funny because you would expect someone sweet a name like this as a charmer or peaceful type.

Doctor Meowingtons.. even though I am not feeling the name, but I can rate it 7/10.

Brutalustaka: It feels to long for a name. Usually a Charr’s name is two-three syllabus, and the way I read this I get 5. Maybe tone it down to “Brutala” (Brute-al-ah) with a “the [Blank]”. But as it stands 3/10

Azura Coldpaw – I like the first name but not so much the 2nd. A guardian isn’t really cold-related unless you mean the armor, in which case something more metallic would fit better. Even if it’s for her fur, white fur doesn’t necessarily mean “cold”. Meh, I’m being nit-picky. 6/10

Pyra Firapaw – Nearly perfect. First name is fine, but the “Fira” part is killing it. “Flamepaw” or “Hotpaw” or anything would have been better then Fira. 9/10

Lavenda Rosepaw – Bad first name, okay last name. 5/10. I can see what you were going with, the whole “flower” theme, but Lavenda doesn’t cut it (I honestly read it as “Lavender” at first). It just doesn’t feel organic at all. Rosepaw is fine though since, as I said, it’s clear you’re going for the rose theme.

Now for mine:

Warrior: Reega Shadowfang – Blood Legion and Order of Whispers. Black fur with bright yellow/gold hair. Wears Black colored armor with Ice Lemon trimming. Has a brutal charm to her nature for a “stealthy tin can” as she put sit. Don’t let her caught you with your pants down or you’ll she might just axed why this is “he life for me”?

(NO RELATION TO REEVA <_< I realized that after I made her but I like the name to much and I used a Black Dye on her kitten

Engi: (For when I can rename him) Slaug Steelskin, Iron Legion and Vigil. Brown orange-ish fur with matching hair, using a wide variety of colors for whatever he wears to throw people off. Slaug is a Soldier thru and thru though with a tactical mind and a set of hands for holding guns, grenades, bombs, flamethrowers and whatever the hell else can kill stuff.

In this order:
7/10, becuase I like the sound of Reega.
6/10, because it is good, but doesn’t sound too Charr-ish.

Here is mine:
Gerroth Bladesbane, member of the Blood Legion and the Vigil. Right now I am between what armor colors to use (currently Tarnished Steel with some Deep Maple and Deep Pine), but his distinguishing feature is his fur color. It features a generic tiger orange and panther black and is arranged in a tiger stipe fashion, but in reverse; instead of being orange with black stripes, he is black with orange stripes (I’m thinking that with the backstory I gave him, it might have something to do with his father being a Flame Legion Shaman, or at least that what the rumor is).

MadDemon – 7/10. I like the last name, but something about names with ‘oth’ in them I’ve never liked for some reason.

Eh, I’ll give it a 5. Its an alright name on its own, sounds alright, but its not very Charr-like. First name fits well enough though I can’t really put my finger on how to pronounce it. The last, though… Charr last names are 2-word combinations, one for the warband and one usually a description of the individual in some way, so that last name doesn’t fit at all. If it were a title (EG Hiafax the Tyrant) then it would fit, but as it is not so much.

I’ve got 2 Charr characters, so I guess I’ll put ’em in the same post.

First one is Geirikk. My first character in the game period so I didn’t even think to look up the “proper” naming conventions, just picked something that sounded good and went with it. I’ve kind of RP’d it off as a situation where he was formerly Flame Legion (conveniently I happened to pick the Flame Legion sire background), and when he left Flame Legion he chose to ditch the surname because of what it represented. And his Legionaire in Blood Legion didn’t think a former flame legion deserved to adopt the name of the warband, so he never took a new one. Really, though, I’d love to get a proper surname on there and will if they ever introduce a name change system (unless its too expensive to be worth it).

Second is Cazza Gearburst of Iron Legion. Proper Charr name this time. Gear warband (no relation to the ones with the same warband name earlier in the thread, though I’ve actually seen at least 1 other Gear* named Charr in-game so it’d be funny to get them all together and form an RP guild), not the most creative of warband names but fits an Iron warband well enough, with the warband being all about creating and using machinery / gear (hence also her being an Engineer). Burst because she’s quick and has a preference for explosions.

Cazza Gearburst 9/10 – My Imagination has me thinking you run around with exploding gears and just chuck them at things like Frisbees that explode into fiery balls of death. :-)

Mine is:
Daxil Embershot – He is a proud member and Engineer for the Iron Legion. I would tell you his order but then I would have to kill you. :-) Moving on….He gets his surname based on the fact that he impressed his warband by using his flamethrower to reduces his enemies to nothing but embers on the battlefield.

I offer the name above mine a 9/10 – Daxil Embershot it fits in accordance of the character being within the Iron legion. In addition the description fits with the name. I do however dislike the name Daxil but good name overall

Now for mine. Decimus Maxima A lone Charr warrior cub of a gladium and the tenth of which to be born. No need for any band. A member of the Blood Legion accustomed to life on the field.

7/10, the story is cool, but the name doesn’t feel very ‘charr’. Mine is called: Tarr Geargrind, a brute Engineer representing the Iron Legion that is commanding the battlefield!
