Appeal for second restoration?
I guess you allready asked support for this (and got a negative reply), so you have a 12-digit ticket number. please update your post with that one.

The reason why Arenanet is in general way not giving a second restoration is that an hacked account always comes from people being careless with their details or online security. I know I have easy talking, I’m an IT-specialist with degrees in computer security. This means I’m better protected then most people (and I don’t even use a virusscanner). A hacker usually goes for the weakest targets. So you really have to question yourself how and why they got to you.
The reason why they don’t throw around restorations is that it is harmfull for the in game economy. All your belongings are likely being put back into the economy by the hacker (in an attempt to make profit, likely to sell to others for real money). This is not changed by a restoration, but the items are actually duplicated. So a restoration is very harmfull for the economy, specially if people need one e.g. every week.
If you want this appeal to be successful you should find out how you got hacked again, be honest bout it and explain what measures you are taking to prevent it. Support knows that a 100% security is impossible, but they certainly don’t want lightning to struck 3 times.

Thank you for your reply. Im aware that one of the reasons i got hacked is due to the fact that i disabled my authenticator when i swapped out my iphones. After noticing that i got hacked i ran a full system scan on my PC and it came up with no threats. This could mean i could have either fallen victim to a phishing site or there is a key logger on my computer.
The GM which i contacted in my support ticket has helped me switch up my login ID and confirimed that i have set up a Two Factor Authentication PIN. If my account is able to get restored i will swear to keep it up at all times. I will even pick up the habit of changing passwords every month. And i suppose a system reformat is a good idea aswell.
I had 50 gold on my character which was the only thing i had that would have been profitable for the hacker. It made me think this was not a just a hack to take gold but a personal attack on my account since he exhausted all my other currency and equipment and could have been a personal attack by the same person that hacked me before? i may just be paranoid.

From what other people have said, it’s common for hackers to strip characters of armor and weapons, salvage it and delete the characters. It’s not personal, it’s business. If they get only one ecto or ori from salvaging all your gear, they come out ahead.
As to a second rollback, it’s policy for ANet to only offer one per account per the lifetime of the account. Corporations don’t make exceptions on policy rules. You’re going to have to start over again.

I have read, very rarely, of accounts with more than one restoration. I have no idea why they were granted more than one, but you can look through the posts here, and maybe get some clue as to what the requirements are for a second restoration. Good luck. =)

The ones I have read where they got a second one is where the date of the first one was done incorrectly. It was way before the hack, like weeks to months, or it was after then hack. In that case they give a second one because support messed up. I’ve never seen one where there was a second hack and someone got a second rollback.
For example, one guildie was hacked in early August and the account rollback was to April or May.

I wish the search function was better. It gets down to something remembered reading sometime back. Is hard to be definitive one way or another without a working forum search function. >.>
I agree. I did a search, the function didn’t even give me ‘0’ results. It did nothing, at all. I had to manually go through each page of posts. Sigh.
I personally use google above the search function, just add ‘site:forum-en.guildwars2.com’ (no quotes) to your search command at the end

Thank you all for taking the time to look into this for me and your feedbacks. i fully understand that if i am not able to get a second restoration it is entirely my fault and Anet has done what they can to help me. i was given a second chance to protect my account but i was careless and took it for granted. I’ll wait for a reply from Galie and i’ll listen to what she has to say.
Nobody is saying you shouldn’t have a 2th restoration. We are just expressing our thoughts bout how support generally responds.
I personally would consider it (if I would be support). given the amount off time between the hacks, that they are individual cases and it seems you have learned your lesson. I would react though to your ticket directly and ask you to not tell it in public cause otherwise a flow of simular demands would arise.
But hey that’s me, and Arenanet might very well disagree with me or choose a different approach. So while informative, that personal opinion doesn’t help you a lot.

They don’t want people opening up multiple tickets. It slows them down and all they do with it is close it anyway.
As to getting a response on the forum, it’s the weekend. Gaile probably won’t be back on the forum before Monday.
