My account is one of those was that was swept in the massive account banning this weekend for botting – but my husband just saw my account logged in to the game. Is this due to the support team investigating or has my account been hacked? I’ve updated my ticket, but I’m confused and frustrated.

I literally had been playing the game for my first hour ever when my account was banned on Saturday. This is not a great first impression.

Same thing is happening to my account… I was banned on Saturday at 4:00pm~ and my friend logged in yesterday and noticed my account was logged in, in the same exact area that I received the “black screen of death”.

Also, did you experience rubber banding / teleporting before you were banned?

I don’t know what rubber banding/teleporting is. I’m seriously brand new. I did get the black screen of death though! I thought my computer was crashing.

Rubber banding is similar to lag. In other words, did you notice your character moving somewhere and then swapping places back to where it originally was a few moments before?

Happened to me on Monday about 3-4pm. I was warping (rubber banding) all over the place. Died twice because of it. After the second death i did a speed test for internet and that came back perfect so I exited and did a restart on my system. When I logged back in I got the bad news.

Someone keeps logging on to my account, and when my husband tries to interact with him or her they log out. ’Tis very fishy…

Please, if someone says they see you online, change your password immediately. Consider doing a full system check to remove any trojans or keyloggers, too. That’s just a scary thing, and changing the password is free and easy and gives you an extra level of security!

Gaile, I think the problem is that we were banned for “botting”, but our characters are stuck in the area that they were banned in.

For example, my character was finishing the Eye of Zaiten Story Quest and she is still in that same instance, 2 days later.

Yea I was also one of the unlucky people that were wrongfully banned for botting. After I was kicked out, one of my guildmates said I was logged on.

Same here, kicked out but was still logged.

It sounds like these are issues where the account holder’s machine may be compromised by some malware or a keylogger, and the accounts have been accessed by someone else. In these cases, it is very important that you carefully have the machine inspected and remove any malware or keyloggers as well as change the password on your account. It is also highly suggested that you apply one of the Mobile Authenticators to your account if you can.

No, I guarantee this is not the problem these people are facing.

Think about it if the account is banned no one has access to the account other than Arena.net. So even if burnc posted his/her account name and password on this forum nobody could access the account because it’s banned.

^ this, if the account is banned, nobody on the player base can access it.

My account isn’t hacked otherwise i could not even login here! Please stop striking this kind of fear into peoples heart.

Several people reported being seen after they got banned from game with the false botting claim. My husband also saw me online. Also many people report the rubber banding and the black screen.
When banned from game indeed nobody should be able to log in and that includes the claimed hackers they come up with when people report being seen.

Something is wrong and the list of people complaining is growing. No longer can they help within 24hours. The minimum time seems 3 days now according to the reported reinstated accounts. This shows how much backlog they have which shows the extremity of the complaints in relations to the normal servicelevel.

Too many people are banned. Take note, most of them are innocent

I find this hard to believe. I have been playing 12 to 16 hours per day for at least 2 weeks long. Do you really think i wouldn’t have noticed if someone else is trying to get into my account?

My Password is unique and even so, do you really think a hacker is gonne use my account for botting when i’m just sleeping for 6 hours?

Lani .. read what i say .. I say the claim of hacking is strange cause not even a hacker can get in if you are banned from the game
If you are banned only the game company itself can get in

Still, too many people got banned. Most of them are innocent
