Guild Wars 2

In light of the recent announcement of Ascended gear to the game, I am no longer interested in playing the game. I don’t feel particularly optimistic that hashing things out and making arguments on a forum will result in a change that will make me feel more comfortable playing the game.

While I don’t want to come across as overly angry, petulant, or anything other than respectful, I would also like to register my intense dissatisfaction with the direction of the update in a more meaningful and concrete way than simply saying that I’m done and logging off into the ether. I would like to close my Guild Wars 2 account(s).

My questions are:
1) Can I do this by request, via a Support ticket? This is, I think, preferable for everybody than intentionally seeking a ban via infraction.
2) Two of the three Guild Wars 2 accounts that I own are linked to Guild Wars 1 accounts that I don’t want to get rid of. Can I ensure that I’ll still be able to play on both of them, after I no longer have access to Guild Wars 2?

The game is F2P, there is nothing to close. Uninstall and be done with it just like I hope most people will do and when the player count drops, maybe they’ll revisit their manifesto. Too bad by then it will be too late.

I was planning on messing around with Darkfall 2.0, but I guess I’ll have time to play it full-time.

I’m still in complete disbelief they would go against the core design so quickly.

well, there is no way to close the account that i am aware of, just uninstall the game if you dont want to play it anymore, and dont worry about it.

I would likewise like to know if account closure of this type is possible, for exactly the same reasons.

I have already uninstalled the game client and have no intention of ever reinstalling it (or any other Arenanet product, for that matter), so loading up on racial slurs and publically melting my account in Lion’s Arch is no longer an option.

It’s not really about making sure that I never play the game again – that’s not really an issue. It’s got more to do with making a statement about (what is, in my perception) a clear shift in design philosophy that I disagree with, in a way that is both respectful to ArenaNet as a business and as human beings, and that can’t entirely be dismissed as sound and fury, signifying that I will log back on in a week after “cooling down”.

well, i can respect that, everybody has their own views and such, oh well, come back in a year and that might jsut have an “account closure” button ey

edit: well, now that i am at a complete loss to do since i have already posted everywhere around here and cannot play the kitten game >> :’(, i guess its back to watching more anime ^^

Is this one of those tricks, when you hack someone and try close the account afterwards?

If people are doing this they have some serious issues

No, these are my own accounts. I’m simply looking for a way to register my objection.
