We have concluded our investigation into the lost item that you reported. We were not able to verify this particular item loss in our records. It is not possible for the Guild Wars 2 Support Team to replace such an item without independent verification of its loss and the circumstances surrounding a loss incident.

This is a joke? I lost 7 karma booster, 4 magic find booster. Disappear from my inventory and support say “sorry this is not our problem”!

No offense, but support just can’t take word of mouth that you had the items, I could put in a ticket saying I had 2 dusks and they just “disappeared” and expect them to replace them. They have ways to check that you had them. If it’s not showing, it’s not showing. Has nothing to do with bad support. Sometimes, you just don’t get what you want. Doesn’t make the support bad.

Sometimes, the customer is wrong.

I had a Gem Store purchase vanish from my bank. 10 euro down the drain. I contacted support, filed a ticket, and received no response. Posted in the ticket refresh thread, got referred to a response I never got, and I still don’t have the item back. So I posted a thread in General Discussion, which was moved to Account Issues and then quietly locked.

They seem to like my money just fine, though. Maybe you’ll have more luck with the “support team.” Good luck.

I had an ascended leggings disappear recently and they restored them within a few hours. They did well by me. Next time try providing more info, Character name, Time and date of the disappearance (or when it was noticed missing plus when it was last seen). Everything you can tell them gives them a better chance to see whatwent wrong and where.

I had a Gem Store purchase vanish from my bank. 10 euro down the drain. I contacted support, filed a ticket, and received no response. Posted in the ticket refresh thread, got referred to a response I never got, and I still don’t have the item back. So I posted a thread in General Discussion, which was moved to Account Issues and then quietly locked.

They seem to like my money just fine, though. Maybe you’ll have more luck with the “support team.” Good luck.

From all my many issues handled by support they have NEVER ignored my request. If you did not receive an almost immediate (with a ten minutes) auto response of “we got your ticket…here’s your number”, then you are having some sort of blocking delivery issue with support. Check your spam / junk mail folder and there is a known issue with yahoo.com blocking certain emails including ones form Anet support.

From all my (over half a dozen) contacts with Support, they do NOT intentionally ignore requests, there is some other explanation for your issues.

Respond to the last ticket you received saying that you did not get the email with the response and ask them if they would resend the email. ANet support is aware that sometimes emails get lost in the web somewhere and should be willing to resend their response. They aren’t intentionally ignoring you. On their end, they sent you a response. They don’t have a system that gives them an alert that you never received it.

I would however check out the link Inculpatus posted just to make sure the reason isn’t due to anything listed there before responding to the ticket.

There is ALWAYS a reason. I’ve run email administration for 10 years and I’ve never seen an email just “not get there”. Yes, emails sometimes do not make it to a destination, but there is ALWAYS a reason of some sort that can be corrected if the proper authorized administrators care enough to fix it (or established policies allow for it to be fixed).

Like I said, no apparent reason. As in not known. Didn’t mean to make anyone think that there was no reason. I’m knowledgeable enough in tech to know that everything computer related has a reason it occurs. Computers can’t just make stuff up on the fly without any programming telling it to do so.

Like I said, no apparent reason. As in not known. Didn’t mean to make anyone think that there was no reason. I’m knowledgeable enough in tech to know that everything computer related has a reason it occurs. Computers can’t just make stuff up on the fly without any programming telling it to do so.

Actually, the reason is always apparent. I work with our company’s email system, Doing a trace on an email that has gotten ‘lost’ will tell you exactly where it went and why it was stopped.

Correct, but you have to have admin access to the actual server (or the return/bounce message itself) to hunt down the problem. While the reason can always be found, often that information is unavailable to the end user.

Didn’t mean to imply anyone was not tech savy, but your comment sure sounded to me like you believed some emails just “fade away into the ether”. Sorry for that misunderstanding.

There obviously is more to the original post situation than is shown in the comments. We wouldn’t say “Oh things disappeared, too bad!” Never would we adopt that attitude! When someone says something “disappeared” we look at game logs, and game logs are very detailed and very accurate. We ask questions like “Did this person have the item? When? What happened — was it traded, binned (destroyed), sold, used, used by someone who accessed the account (with or without permission), lost in a forgotten bag…?”

If the team looked for the items claimed as lost and cannot find evidence that they were lost, then of course they cannot be replaced. If the team finds the items never were owned — and that’s not uncommon — clearly they cannot be handed out. Game logs are detailed and, while there are occasional glitches, they are extremely accurate.

I’m sorry for your frustration, but the answer you got is both appropriate and responsible.
