Hi! my account was just forced to change name, cause somebody apparently reported me for having a offensive name.. it was imonmyperiod, which really was just supposed to be funny cause i stacked bleeds.. how is that even offensive in any way, shape or form? do people who name themselves like, puberty get forced to change too? i get foul language and offensive stuff, but seriously…lol :|

Although not directly stated, this means offensive against any part of the population. I have had two grilfriends that had a very very disturbing PMS, wich cause them both a lot of pain and misery during that period. They are glad it is only a few days per month and do not want to be reminded of that period in other situations. Besides that in most cultures it is considered inappropaite to discuss a woman’s period. So your name breaks this rule.

To tell you the truth, Anet is very strict when it comes to rules and in some cases to strict, but in this case they are 100% right. You have no clue at all what a hell this is for woman every month. You should be ashamed for making this name and you should be even more ashamed to even complaining bout it.

Same here. You would think people would be mature enough to not fuss over that kind of thing, but sadly Anet must cater to all types of people.

When you start a forum thread about something, you are “making a big deal about it”. If you invite other people’s opinions, that’s what you are going to get, both positive and negative. If its something that’s against the TOS, then most people are going to be negative.

I didn’t see any “hate”, all I saw was several people pointing out that it did in fact violate the naming policy. Unless you’re saying that me guessing you’re not female is “hate”, in which case I apologize, madam.

In some cultures, women are considered unclean when they are having their period.
For example, in Jewish Law, still held to by the ultra orthodox.

And this isn’t an isolated case. Many traditional cultures consider menstruating women unclean.

Until fairly recently in America, that time of the month was refered to as The Curse. God cursed women with menstruation because of Eve’s sin. Because of lingering feelings of dirtiness and because of old religious reasons, many people are still uncomfortable with this subject.
