I’m about to pick a Shiverpeaks weapon skin from a PvP track reward box.

• The spear skin is called Etched Harpoon Skin and is using an icon with a blue background, unlike that reddish ones for all other weapons.
• The harpoon gun skin is called Etched Spear Skin (and uses the correct icon).

As far as the names go, Spears (names) are also known as Harpoons (weapon-type), and Harpoon Guns (names) are also known as Spears (weapon-type). I know, it’s odd, but used throughout the game.

I know spear = harpoon and speargun = harpoon gun (which is confusing enough) but calling the harpoon gun skin “spear” is ridiculous.

I would imagine it is because they are both ‘projectile’ type weapons. You would ‘throw’ a spear, and a harpoon gun ‘throws’ out a spear-type projectile.

So? Hammers and maces are both blunt weapons, and they don’t get mixed up in their descriptions.

Yes, you are probably right. There should be Etched Spear and Etched Speargun, no Etched Harpoon gun. Perhaps all the ‘Harpoon = Spear’ confused the artist, or whoever assigns the names.

I think some other weapons have this harpoon/spear/harpoon gun/spear gun problem, as well.
