So I’ve been farming to death recently because I love how the Draconic Armor looks. Finally get enough gold to purchase the EXOTIC Box of Berserker’s Draconic Armor off the TP, me being excited because I just hit 80 like 10 hour ago and now will have some pretty cool looking gear. I open the box and out comes 6 pieces of RARE Berserker’s Gladiator Armor, definitely not what I purchased for almost 7g 50s, I’m now down to a measly 1g with 6 pieces of armor that sell for less than 3g on the AH. There goes days of farming out the window.

May sound a bit drastic but this kind of kills the mood of playing the game, that’s the most amount of gold I had throughout my entire adventure and to lose it to a bug just annoys me.

I’m super sad and disappointed =(

as far as i kno that box is made by an armorsmith/tailor or the leatherworking one it contains a full set of armor and depending on what level it is, it could have been very costly to make so the maker prob put it up on the trading post hoping to recover some gold he/she spent lvling his/her craft. nothing anet can do about it only thing u can do is put the armor on the trading post and hope to make some gold back if u dont want the armor

I already opened it and it gives me 6 pieces of rare armor that only cost less than 3g total. All my guildmates told me that they thought “box of berserker’s draconian armor” definitely contains a set of berserker’s draconian armor. I have the evidence as it is shown in my bought list in TP.

10g is seriously hours of hardwork and I really feel that I am not totally at fault here…and even if I have not opened I am not going to “ripoff” others by putting it back in the TP. I really respect this game and community alot, please can give some sympathy for me here..

What is worst is that I filtered in TP based on “lv80” and “exotic” items, then i typed in “Draconian” in the search box. I was looking to buy some 80 exotic pieces, then the TP showed me a bunch of draconian exotic pieces together with this box, so naturally I would think that this box contains a set of those exotic pieces !

I couldn’t help you as I’m a no body, but misleading information like that in real life is considered a crime, and you could be fined, and go to court for things like this. In the game however, it’s not quite the same, but it would be nice to know some sort of justice is felt when you are being ripped off by such things, I think.

If a game is giving you suicidal urges you should seriously consider seeing a doctor or seeking help. Depending on what country you are in there are numerous support groups for people suffering from depression.

I am sorry but yes that may be too strong a word to use, but I am feeling really terrible right now and I have never felt such feeling before after playing so many MMOs.. I definitely cant sleep tonight and I am going to have a ****** weekend…

They say it’s always darkest before the dawn. Perhaps something wonderful will happen this weekend, try to keep positive and who knows what opportunities you’ll find.

I think it is a bug…you see the berserker’s draconic armor need silk insignias to be made. Not gossamer. I can’t put the exotic chest piece of the armor on the mystic forget to get the recipe as well. Check it here

Today I bought from the tp for 10g this box which is supposed to contain the exotic draconic set. Nice surprise when I opened it to notice I was given a set of berserker gladiator armor (the rare one).
So I actually lost 10 golds to a bug. Any way to recover the golds or get arenanet to change the set?
PS DO NOT buy the Box of Berserker’s Draconic Armor or you’ll lose 10g.

man, i highly suspect that it might be the same guy that keeps selling this and trying to “scam” us all..

whoever is selling them isn’t to blame. its clearly the box item either named incorrectly or the contents are not correct after double clicking. hopefully anet gets caught up with tickets and fixes stuff like this. a month from now people will have just replaced the armor they got ripped off on through bugs like this.

Actually i checked on gw2db and the items used to make the box are mithril etc. (not oricalchum).
So the guy selling this is clearly scamming (why sell the box at 10g when you can unpack and sell them for 3g each?).

The same thing happened to me. I barely have any gold left, and only a useless armor set to show for it.

The box’s name clearly implies the armor and grade of armor expected from opening the box. Someone HAS to be scamming what looks like a decent portion of the 80 community through this serious exploit. The reasoning behind it is simple, each of us thought we were either getting a terrific value for the boxes (because the unloaded armor could be sold for at least 20g). The seller of these boxes prices them around 10g each, so either he can’t do basic math as a 400 craftsman with exotic recipes or he realizes the boxes don’t work as intended and is making huge amounts of gold from the level 80 community. Hopefully the major exploitable bug is fixed within the next few days, because it doesn’t appear that the exploiter(s) have any intention of stopping.

same thing happened to me as well. I hope they do something about the bug because loosing 10g was rather disappointing.

The same happened to me, I got a reply saying their team is unable to give any restorations or refunds. So it looks like we’re going to have to suffer for an error which was the developers fault, which kinda sucks. The people listing them for 10G clearly know that it’s not draconic in the box, which is an exploit and they should get punished for screwing over so many people just to make easy cash.

Yeah, I got the same exact reply, seems real unfair that we have to suffer and lose money we worked for because ArenaNet made an error. Hopefully they get their act together and refund the people who got screwed but I’m not too sure.

Honestly I don’t really care if I don’t get refunded for the loss. I do care about the players obviously exploiting and getting away with it.

saying the guy is trying to scam ppl is wrong tho, anyone can put an item into the TP for whatever amount they want just dont mean ppl will buy it.
In other mmo’s it is normal pratice to put up crafted gear near end game at a huge price hoping somone will pay it. as long as the items are made in the right way without expolit i dont see what anet can do here besides 10g for a full set isnt much when teir 3 recial armor is 20-30g per bit !

If you check gw2db the box is made with mithril. The guy knows he’s putting an item supposed to be an exotic for an high price exploiting the fact players believe they’ll get an exotic set.

Selling a cake for 1000 euros is different from selling a cake advertised as a jewel for 1000 euros. The first one is legit, the second one is not.

Can you read or what? The box contains a DIFFERENT set of armor, the box is exotic and it’s supposed to contain an exotic set.
The fact it contains a rare set is a BUG, and the guy is exploiting the fact we believe there’s an exotic set in the box (as it should be).

I recently purchased an exotic Box of Berserker’s Draconic Armor for close to 10 gold from the auction house , I was expecting to get the full set of the Berserker’s Draconic Armor but instead I got a full set of Berserker’s Gladiator armor for some reason ? What is going ? This has got to be a bug ….

Finally reached level 80; Guild mates also told me it’s a good buy; a bit skeptical at first because individual Draconic armors cost ~ 3 gold +; but I thought there was some savings involved with getting a whole box of ‘em. I’m not really into Crafting; and so would have avoided this if I had actually done more “research”; but can you really blame me for such a complete and blatantly misleading item?

Well, I am almost completely broke after this, and I got a similar reply from ANet that they are not yet able to restore items and it almost makes me want to lodge some kind of report… this is after all THEIR BUG which has effectively EXPLOITED PLAYERS (and also has other players obviously exploiting the bug by scamming buyers on the trading post into buying them). However, seeing as to how it’s understandable that they do not yet have an official fix on this, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they will compensate us once a fix is finalized for that.

But seriously; if ANet support currently cannot issue refunds / restorations to players individually, have some sort of workaround. Like put up a full set of ACTUAL Draconic Armors on the Gem Store, and let ONLY AFFECTED PLAYERS purchase them, once, for free. Or heck, instead of free, they could even require us to purchase those by “exchanging” the Gladiator armor equivalent that we got from the “Berserker’s Draconic armor box of scamming”; they kill 2 birds with 1 stone that way. We get the correct armor and we ‘destroy’ the other wrong set of armor we got. (If they could track down exploiters of the karma cultural armor thing, they can very well track down and verify players who got tricked into buying the “draconic” armor box as well). Not a ridiculously unreasonable / impossible workaround solution, yes?

I really hate the idea of running around completely broke with a set of “inferior” level 80 armor I paid lots for that I cannot use for pouring through the high level areas.

Within 24 hours people who exploited the karma weapons thing got all the items deleted and got suspensions but people who suffered from the mistake which was completely ArenaNets fault still have no compensation or even any promise of a fix in the future. And this item has been being sold on the trading post for a few days now so there will be a lot of people affected. I too have virtually no gold left and it really affects my desire to play. But fingers crossed they will sort it out for us soon.

Take note of the “at this time” part. It might not sound like it but it means what it says.

Gaile Gray said over on the Account Issues forum that they’re working on the ability to restore items and characters, and when they can, they’ll be able to do restorations on old losses, not just things that happen after they get restorations working.

Do you guys think they are going to refund us ? Can you imagine those that used REAL CASH to buy the gems and then they convert it to gold, just for that box ..

Exactly, they need to get a team on item restoring ASAP. I’ve spent $70 on gems and most of that got changed to gold and I have lost a good bit of money in a failed transaction on the TP. All they said to me was there was nothing they could do, even though there’s logs of the transaction ><

Do you have the email they sent you telling you they won’t fix it? I find it hard to believe they blatantly said no.

If thats the case, I quit. Forget Anet they won’t get any more of my money.

For now, their official reply (as per tech support personnel) is ambiguous at best.

So it definitely WILL be fixed; but they do not say exactly HOW. For one thing, I’m sure they will be ‘updating’ the in-game box to correctly reflect ‘Box of Berserker’s GLADIATOR armor’ with a yellow aura instead of orange, but as to all the players who got scammed into purchasing them from the Trading Post, we are going to be left hanging because “At this time,” there is nothing they can do for us to restore our items / gold.

I believe what I have suggested is well within their power to implement seeing as to how they so quickly and (accurately?) locked down on players who did the karma exploit and even got perps to “restore” their accounts by deleting their “ill gotten gains”.

This just happened to me. Sent in a support ticket with a screenshot of my purchase history and the yellow set of armor that came out of it.

Why haven’t we heard from a GM on this? This is a HUGE problem!

Bump this thread because same issue happened to me.

I submitted a ticket demanding action taken to fix the issue and the bugged items otherwise I would request a refund.

It’s silly to see a bunch of people buying items from an NPC listed as an exploit worthy of updating the servers immediately, but when others are being exploited for so much more Arenanet is turning their head the other way hoping the ones who got “scammed” by bugged items get swept under the rug.

Seeing there are other similiar “exotic” packages, does the same happen when you open one of those? Like “Satchel of Rampager’s Emblazoned Armor”?

Can we please have an offical response ? 10g is not a small sum to most of us !
