Yesterday i got 100% complete on the map [M], but the achievement for it is stuck on 97% i thought it might just be slow but i have just logged on and is still on 97%.
Is this a know bug or is it because you need to do even more than then 100% complete ?

I couldn’t find any topic on this, i used the search function, so sorry if it have been brought up before

I’m having the same problem, does it just take a while to update or what?

A lot of people posting about it in this thread, but we are fairly sure you need 100% of all areas uncovered too for the achievement.
Though it seems most areas are impossible to find everything, people keep getting stuck on the same amount, like 175/178 in Kryta for example.

Well after the Patch you can complete the explorer achievements. The achievement “Been There, Done That” is still stuck on 97%. Any idea how to fix that?

You have to explore all areas in dungeons also, which means doing all explore paths. (I think)

I’m afraid that’s not true Seth. I have personally proven that dungeons do not count toward the “Been There Done That” achievement track, as have others on the Wiki.

I believe I have found the answer to the 97% issue on “Been There Done That”.

The achievement track appears to look at 2 things:
(a) World Completion:
301 Tasks
507 Waypoints
717 Points of Interest
202 Skillpoints
266 Vistas

(b) All 5 Explorer achievement tracks
175 areas for Krytan Explorer
60 areas for Orr Explorer
165 areas for Maguuma Explorer
172 areas for Shiverpeak Explorer
175 areas for Ascalon Explorer

So why do you have only 97% of Been There Done That, when you achieve all of the above? Simplistically, it is a bug with the mathematics caused by a previous patch.

Some time ago, Arenanet implemented a patch which changed the number of “Areas” within the Explorer title tracks. Originally there were a total of 776 areas to discover, not a total of 747 as there are now. However, the maths for the “Been There Done That” appears to be still calculating from the original base of “776”. Also, it is being rounded down from 98% as you see in the character load screen, to 97% in game.

And thus, I believe we are stuck with this incomplete title until Arenanet fix it, to re-align this achievement with the changes they made to the Explorer tracks.

I hope this helps some folks to understand what’s going on here

Please help me i miss only one area in far shiverpeaks, i have most of the “secret area” you mentioned before, my problem is that there is still a normal area with no poi, vista, or else i don’t find… I got 100% on every map…i didn’t find a blurry spot or something, dunno where to search please if you have in map something you think it’s a bit difficult to find like a little cave, a tiny spot on far shiverpeak’s map please tell me, i just go crazy! Just list what you think it may be, so i can check…also i can say apart of this one that there aren’t any bugs, if you didn’t have the achievement meand you didn’t find the spot, so far i got everithing else…

Oh and by the way…this thread is about the “Been There Done That” achievement, not World Completion. There are other good threads about World Completion, including the one I linked.

I have the same problem too. When I finished the world completion (PoIs, Vistas, etc.) I thought that it was done, but saw that I was stuck at %97 on achievement and %98 on character select screen. Then I saw the explorer achievements, did them too, and still stuck at %97. Any info on this from Devs would be appreciated.

@HomelessAvatar I have said it before, I think it is because of their patch which changed the total number of Explorable Areas to 747. It was originally 776. But I think the “Been There Done That” title, and the character load screens, are being driven by the original total of 776 areas (which was wrong!).

Arenanet really needs to fix this, or tell us if it works another way.

yeah, i just checked today and it was on 100%

For me its still on 97%.

That’s not true.

I’m going to bump this thread because the problem is still there. I completed 100% map completion yesterday. I have all rewards, and the gold star. I also have achieved all of the explorer achievements on my account.

That said, "been there done that " is still showing only 99%. I have reported this to support, but honestly, If I have completed all zones and have all the titles, there is no excuse for why I don’t have “been there done that.”

I am attaching one of the two screen shots that show that I did complete the prerequest titles and don’t understand what I could be missing.

Okay editing this post. Thanks to guildies, informing me of the two new wps that were added in the last patch, (I should have remembered the last time they did this) I was finally able to finish the title. You won’t get the chest reward again, but if you do not have the title to start with when they add these things, you will be set back until you complete the zone again.

I am still glad I necro’ed this thread because I am sure others are wondering the same thing and will be continued to be confused whenever they update and add wp’s and zones like this.
