[Bug] Malrona projectile attack
This seems to be heavily inconsistent. Sometimes the projectiles went through, sometimes they were reflected.
If this is fully intended, it is effectively a guardian/mesmer nerf for that path, if no projectiles can be reflected. If it can actually reflect say half, it would be fairer.
Dungeon changes never make the patch notes, cause patch notes for dungeons are too hard to include. Assume its intended and move on. Welcome to dungeon running in GW2.
This is happening for triple trouble too, can no longer reflect the eggs spit by the wurm.
If this is intended for many enemies, that no projectile can be reflected, it is definitely a nerf to guardian’s wall and mesmer feedback. If not negating the classes in certain situations, it at least necessitates a change in utility skills used. Even reflecting only half may accomplish the same, but at least then the skill wouldn’t be useless if taken.
I don’t understand what is the point of having skills like Magnetic Aura, that are meant to REFLECT projectiles, then change a boss’ skills where their projectiles cannot be reflected. It defeats the whole purpose. That change just makes no sense. Its essentially the game using exploits, but if a player uses them, its a no-no. Thank you Anet.
Most of the “ninja” dungeon changes were made to fix exploits, and exploit fixes are never listed in the patch notes. This one was very clearly not – simply using a skill and expecting it to perform as described is not an exploit. There’s a problem with reflect skills and it’s not just localized to this encounter – certain other mobs (most notably the triple trouble wurm) are also affected after this patch. That this is still absent from the patch notes leads me to believe that this is an unintended change.
Would love to hear some official word on this, even if it’s just “something’s wrong, we’re looking into it.”
Whoever made the change to reflects this patch didn’t do their homework properly. My guess is that this has something to do with the Mesmer’s Feedback skill which could be extremely effective with the Great Jungle Wurm in Caledon Forest. I haven’t tried it after the patch but it wouldn’t surprise me if the developers tried to fix the Feedback damage on the Great Jungle Wurm and in the process had some collateral damage on how reflect works on other bosses such as Malrona and the Triple wurm in Bloodtide Coast.
I would be very disappointed if the Arenanet would leave reflects in it’s current state as it would even further dumb down the game towards “100 blades”.
The spider queen in Ascalonian Catacombs can no longer be reflected. The typical “stack behind the column” method is no longer viable, forcing people to fight out in the area the spider spawns in. I have a feeling that in order to fix the issue of the spider’s venoms not hitting through the column in this particular dungeon, or to make it more challenging, they’ve broken all similar dungeon enemies.
Fix one thing, break 10 more. That’s how it works at this company.
The feedback change on the dungeon enemies is more recent than the jungle wurm change, and is unrelated. Besides, the wurm you can still reflect some of the projectiles, and what I’m hearing is that no projectiles can be reflected on these.
As I believe that was an intended change (even though a bad one), I created a pro-reflect thread in the general Discussions forum. Would appreciate some feedback (pun intented) there.
