Can't select initial world

I am having this issue as well. I’m haven’t even created my first character yet. I am trying to connect to Ferguson’s Crossing. No luck so far.
If you discover anything, please post an update. I will as well.
I think I’m going to wait a half hour, try again and if it still doesn’t work request a refund.

Feels like Diablo 3 all over again.
Just sent in my refund request. Time to find another game to play today I suppose. :/
I haven’t had any luck logging in. Here is what I’ve tried so far:
1. Made sure WiFi connection was set as Home/Private Network
Opened ports 80, 443, 6112 and port 6600.
3. Even tried turning off Windows Firewall completely.
4. Remembered I use Vipre Internet security. Opened ports 80 and 443 (couldn’t figure out the other two). Then disabled protection completely.
5. Since I have Windows, I tried running the game as Administrator (even though I am logged in as administrator)
6. And yes, I tried resetting my computer multiple times.

I’m having the same issue, I can’t find anything about it on the internet. This is not a very good start to my guild wars experience.
I’m having this exact same problem. Here is what my error looks like:
Network error
Please check your internet connection
[Error code: 3032:1002:3:4372:101]
That isn’t exactly the message, but for the most part it is (I only bothered to copy down the error code)
It seems to be affecting only newbies. My guess is that there may something wrong with this part of their server.
I am also having the same issue. My buddy logged in from my computer to his account and was able to login just fine. It is not an internet issue.
Does gw2 often have unplanned/announced outages like this?
Thank you Popper for confirming that it is an account issue. I was curious to know if it was computer/internet issue.
Is tech support open this weekend or should i just move on to watching netflix, since my internet is working properly.

Having the same problem. Pretty frustrating after waiting hours to download the digital copy of the game.

i tested with my friend account and no problem to log in .. i test with mine (i bought it today) and i cant select the world …..

Update: I got an email from support and they said the issue is fixed. I tried multiple times since then, and I’m still facing the same issue. I replied to let them know the issue is not fixed.
Still got the same error message. Tried DMZ in my router and same network error!

Yeah, I bought the game yesterday, downloaded it overnight, then tried to log in. Yayyyyy. “Check your internet connection”. Also, a ten month old 50$ game has issues still, but I can log in to the F2P Neverwinter within hours of their open beta going live…Hmmm. Definitely a bad first impression.

Well, good news is that GW2 Support is aware of the issue and is currently looking into it. We’ll see how long it takes, but keeping head up at the moment and hoping it’s just a minor bump.

It’s definitely not an internet issue (meaning no matter what you do with your router won’t help), and it’s also not a general game error. It seems the problem is only with New Accounts.
