Never had this problem…maybe a screen or two might help?

I am having the same problem with transmuted T3 Norn Cultural armor and transmuted Inquest boots. I am so sad about this bug.

Cannot dye in the transmuted chest armor (right bottom)

Pic1: It is a transmuted chest armor

Pic2:The colour of right bottom chest armor is “stone”

Pic3:Tried to dye another colour

Pic4:It changed back to stone after pressing the dye button, and dyed fail

Notes:
1) I tried all colours from the left hand side of the equipment menu I have, but all colour dyed fail and back to “stone”
2) Error log and closing game when I tried to unequip the fail dyed chest armor

Yes – I’ve had the same problem. But has anyone else noticed the Heritage Pauldrons are displaying too large since the Feb 26 patch?

My human warrior now has norn-sized pauldrons which look silly and clip with the chest armor as soon as you wield anything.

This is happening to me as well. And it’s been this way quite som time now…

Bought a Pit Fighter’s Shoulder Armor, transmuted it with stats from the Ascalonian Shoulder piece. Now I cant dye the shoulders, and if I dye and than unequip then the game crashes…

I also tried equipping another shoulder armor, dye it the way I want and re-equip the pit fighters. But the colors still wont stick :/ Please fix this!

Just curious did you ever fix this problem?
I have been having an issue with my armor too, but only my pants, I can’t dye them and if I try to after awhile my game crashes. I’ve sent in a ticket and they still havent figured anything out…. So just wondering if maybe yours was fixed

I have had this problem myself the fix for it is to dye every piece of armor a color you have unlocked on every slot. You cannot leave any color a default color when trying to dye armor because you don’t have it.

I have this with an armor piece of mine…
Can’t dye it, when I want to unequip it, the game crashes. ;_;

I also got this bug, i cannot change the colors of my T3 chest piece (transmuted).
If i take it off the game crashes.
Also transmuting it into another item did not work either.

Removing all dyes with the dye remover and then closing the window solved it.

@Vermundr.7428: OMG! Thank you! I’ve been running around with these purple shoes I could not change, and finally I ran across this, which worked for me also. You have to undye everything! Exit char panel and then go back and re-dye.

So the Cachistic Gloves, which have the same model as the Tarstar Gloves from Fireheart Rise, are not able to be dyed after using a Fine Transmutation Stone.

All the other pieces of armor from Fireheart can be dyed and I had no problem with dying prior to transmutation.

PS: This is ruining my look of ultimate doom warrior

The staff is very much aware about trans’ed items not being able to be dyed. They’ll let you know when they have a fix. Expect this thread to be merged with it.

I haven’t crashed from it, but when I purchased the krytan armor skin from the gem store and transmuted it onto my armor, it would randomly remove the dye colors I put on (mostly spots on the hands and feet armor) and leave the default dye remover brown color. If I recolor it a short while later it would happen again.

Im having a similar problem. I transmuted an Exalted head armor with the Feathered headpiece. When I went to change the dyes it wouldnt update out of the character/hero menu. If I went to unequipt the head armor, my game crashes. How does that work anyways?

This is still a thing and is now affecting human cultural armour and my shiny new Magitech armour out the gemstore. This really needs fixing esp. as it’s adversely affecting paid for equipment (which in this case you -have- to transmute to use)and generally sapping all the fun out of getting new kit :/

EDIT to say a work-around I just found is to use dye remover on two or more dye slots on a piece, then dye over that!

It’s affecting my t3 light asura trousers. I’m able to dye the top just fine.

It’s incredibly annoying to have bought such an expensive piece and not be able to dye it.

Will someone tell us when this can be fixed?

I pay twice for my level 80 armor. One for the stats the other for the look and now I can not dye.
I merged the Norgu’s armor to look like masquerade.

The boots and gloves dye but not the Chest and legs. They look brown and cream and that looks like poo. Or give me away to get all the money back and I will buy armor and not merge it.

I had this problem with my Magitech chest piece today.

Vermundr’s advice worked. Hope more people will read up and try his fix to reclaim their armor’s ability to be dyed!

however this solved the bug for some/most people, this didn’t solve mine : Feet armor was stuck in same color whatever I did. I noticed in previous posts that the bug might come from transfering piece of armor between characters. This is something I did. So I tried to solve the issue using the same method :
My ranger got the bug. I crafted some basic boots with my thief, dyed them, passed them to my ranger thru my chest. I put the new simple boots on my ranger then apply the above bug fix : undye all and close windows.
Now I am able to dye my boots on my ranger as I like !

Are you saving the Dye change before closing the window?

Having this exact same
Problem myself last days with a new human guardian just made also using transmuted t3 cult it just affects the leggings. Apply dye but after closing uu or changing maps reverts back to sky dye( which I don’t even have unlocked)

And yes is defiantly saved before closed. Something in latest patch messed something up?
