The game doesn’t redirect me to Paypal website after I clicked “Proceed to Paypal” button. Please fix this.

I am also having the same problem. I am trying to purchase gems via Paypal and it is not redirecting me to the site to complete the purchase.
I would be grateful if any information could be given.

Same here, unable to complete any gem purchases through paypal.

I’m having the same issues as the OP. If it makes any difference, Chrome is the browser I am running. Thanks!

Even after the patch I am still unable to purchase gems using paypal. I am not redirected to the Paypal website after clicking “Proceed to Paypal”.

There are plenty of bugs that have been around since launch, but THIS is one that I’m positive Anet quickly placed at the top of the priority list.

confirmed, neither opens a tab in browser or opens a page, not when no windows were open and not when they’re open.

same here though the last release notes say they have fixed a bug regarding paypal

well all i notice is the lack of reply from anet other games get a post about them fixing it or something.

Same for me. Pain in the tail. I really need to stop spending all this money anyway. …. One more day and I will take it as a sign to stop buying gems. ;-)

I tried to report this problem to the support team a couple days ago and they told me the problem is on Paypal end that my purchase attempts “was declined by PayPal”. I’m pretty sure that I have enough fund in the Paypal account to purchase a $20 worth of gems.

However, I’m still pretty sure that the problem is on the game side. Because it didn’t redirect me to Paypal page at all, not that I’ve an error after the transaction is made. The button “Proceed to Paypal” just disappeared and nothing happened.

I’ll try contact Paypal for more information regards this problem and will update again.

The paypal method now works for me, seems to be fixed. I posted yesterday about it not continuing to work even after the update, but just tried and was successful.

I just tried after i saw your post and still on going issue for me.

Well I still do not get a opening browser windows like before.

And making a support ticket as was suggested by the page opening ingame “paying with paypal” results in a non loading support page on guildwars2.com… stating:

You are so weird at A-net… It’s like a supermarket with all the checkout isles closed with guards to make sure you do not take your food, but with shady ppl selling food for less cash in dark corners.

I hope you’re trying to catch the gold sellers. or you are doing something else which is truly usefull, because I want to buy my upgrades and boosters.

-added: I do have some money on my paypal account, enough to buy your gems… I can acces paypal without problems, I can add money to it, I can transfer money with it and I can pay money with it. SO NOT PAYPALS FAULT!

Get it together ppl @ A-Net, this weekend will be a long weekend for many folks in parts of Europe. If you put in some effort you could actually make some decent money. Else you’ll get nothing but kittened of ppl. Like me… -

I tried to buy stuff from other games and paypal works fine like always. so i dont think the error is from paypal. and tons of ppl having same prob after the last update. hope any dev will just comment on whats going on are they fixing it or something lots of post are being ignored.

ok i tried something else and i can now buy gems but from my wifes computer. I think the problem is within our gw2 client. i know its a risk to uninstall the game and install it again cos it takes time but if ur willing to try it and it works for u pls leave a comment so others can do it. ty

Did you re-download the whole game or backup gw2.dat and copy to your wife computer?
