I completed Sanctum sprint 2 times. One of those times was from start to finish. However the achievement did not progress. Is anyone else having this issue?

It only seems to be counting towards the achievement if you finish in the top three, despite the wording suggesting you only have to complete the race. So one way or the other, it’s bugged – either the wording on the achievement needs fixing, or the achievement itself needs fixing to count if you finish 4th or lower.

I finished 3rd and still no credit for living story.

I’ve run this three times now, from start to complete, and no credit. BUGGED!

I finished within 3rd twice, and only 1/10. Also, I don’t think they should make it so that you have to place in 1st-3rd place. Considering that it allows you to join after so many have started already (and are halfway through), it puts players at a total disadvantage because there is truly no way for them to catch up. It should just be 10 races in total, not dependent on where you place.

I am also having this issue – no credit

I had the same problem. Came in 3rd and 5th, neither time gave credit for the achievement.

OK, so let’s try and narrow this down to give ANet more information to fix this bug. For people who DID manage to get credit, did you:

1. Finish in the top 3 positions?

2. Participate in the race from start to finish (i.e. you didn’t join into a race already in progress)?

3. Anything else you can think of that might cause problems (e.g. back when the bug was still active, you got killed in the Sprint via sigil on-swap effects)?

Not a bad idea

1) I finished in the top 3 twice. Once first place and the other 2nd place. – Among 4 races.

2) My first race (where I finished first and got credit toward the achievement), I started late. The race had been going, though only for around a minute and majority of us had joined at around the same time.

In my first race I started late, 2nd and 3rd race I had waited there for it to reset and begin again, and the 4th race I’d left and gone back in via the Sanctum Sprint person in Labyrinthine to see if I needed to speak to them every time since I was getting no credit after my 1st race which counted toward the achievement.

3) Nothing that would have caused any problems. No bugs or glitches in any of the races.

I do hope that we don’t need to come in 1st place for it to count toward the achievement. Coming in 1st is difficult on its own, so coming in 1st ten times would be too much. People would need to do double or triple the races (at least) before likely coming in 1st ten times. Top 3 is hard enough as it is, especially for people with slower computers.

Just adding that the achievement is not working for me either, with ~6-10 races finished.

Looks like the Achievements did not fully reset from last living story. Aspect Arena shows 1 completed but I never ran the Aspect Arena this patch.

Completed this four times now; still only showing one of five. I can’t think of anything obvious or out-of-the ordinary that happened every missing time.

Ok, I’ll pitch back in – so far, in the ones that have given me credit, I’ve run the entire race start to finish, and finished 3rd or better (1st once, 3rd twice).
The first race (where I joined part way through) gave me no credit, but did give me a warning up saying that this would be considered a practice run and that I would get no rewards – so I wasn’t really expecting that one to count for the achievement anyway.
For all the other full races I’ve completed, (4-5 now, I forget exactly as it was last night) I’ve definitely finished 4th or lower, and not gotten any credit for the achievement.

Well I managed to actually finish in second place and it counted for the achievement. However, the info on the achievement now says “Tier: 2 of 3 – 1/5 Sanctum Sprints completed”. I ran the race a few more times and didn’t finish in the top 3 on any of them and no more races counted for the achievement.

As others have pointed out the achievement only says you need to complete a race to get it for the festival meta achievement.

Sanctum Sprint has its own achievement in the Activities category for placing in the top 3 so many times.

It really isn’t fair to force us to have to place in the top 3 for the festival meta achievement.

I’m starting to get tired of the issues with this event. Every time I go to enter the race event from Labrynthine Cliffs I wind up at the very start of the race with everybody else at the finish line with 1 minute or less to go which isn’t enough time to finish it.

Another thing I noticed today that seems to happen every time I actually do complete the race is after I reach the finish line and use the chest to get my festival tokens, I stand around waiting for the event to finish and reset so I can run another race. During this time I keep getting a game message that says “Unless you resume active play you will be kicked in 50 seconds.”. It seems to stop if I start moving and jumping around until the timer runs out. Sometimes I finish the race with 2 or 3 minutes left on the timer.

I have ran this at least 5-6 times, finishing in the top 3 several times, and it’s only counting it 3 times. If we have to do something specific just let us know! Finished 4th and it counted then finished 1st and it didn’t..makes absolutely NO SENSE! FIX BUG!

You’re just having a run of bad luck on how far through the race you enter. But if it happens, just stay in the event once it’s over and the timer runs to zero, and after a few seconds you’ll be put back at the start for the next race with full time left to run.

Yes, it’s always done that. Several of the activities have something similar. I presume it’s intended to stop you zoning in and just going AFK to leech credit – but it’s really annoying that you can finish the race, then still have to keep paying attention once you’ve genuinely got nothing to do but wait for the timer to run out. I’ve missed out on credit for several runs, even when it’s not been bugged, because I forgot about that and walked off to make a coffee or similar.

Just did all 10 wins today. When I placed in the top 3, I did get credit each time. I placed 4th once and did not get credit

Either the achievement is bugged or the tooltip is incorrect

Adding my info to this:

The Festival of the Four winds achievement: Dedicated Sprinter hasn’t updated for me. Wording implies that you should get credit even if you come last like I did.

However in the Activities achievements, the Sanctum Sprint: Frequent Sprinter achievement has registered a completion.

From the similar wording I assumed these two achievements should have pegged at the same point.

I’ve only run one full race. I spawned into an in progress race but I don’t think that counted as completed.

No credit.

Same issue here. I ran a sanctum sprintathon from beginning to teleport and no credit at all. I didn’t make it in the top 3, but as others said it shouldn’t matter since that’s not what the achievement applies. If we have to make the top three then Anet needs to correct the description. In the meantime I shall stop wasting my time.

OK, I ran two races last night. Both times I was present from start to finish, and both times I came first. Both attempts counted towards the Dedicated Sprinter achievement (2/10).

So it seems that you do indeed need to be in the top 3 (based on reported experiences) for it to count, and if you join in late enough (you get the message saying “this is a practice run. No rewards will be given”), you won’t get credit towards the achievement either.

Of course, this means that either the achievement is bugged, or the achievement’s tooltip is wrong. We’ll need more info from ANet as to which is which.

If finishing in top 3 is required to even get this, I am out then. I have never been able to do this fast enough to place that high. They should specify that if that is a requirement, then. Otherwise just running the full course and finishing should count. I ran it twice and got no credit.

I can confirm this is broken, done 20 but it says 8/10

1. Finish in the top 3 positions? No, and I certainly hope that is not a requirement.

2. Participate in the race from start to finish (i.e. you didn’t join into a race already in progress)? Twice, yes. Once, had 5+minutes on the clock when I started, got some tokens at the end anyway.

3. Anything else you can think of that might cause problems (e.g. back when the bug was still active, you got killed in the Sprint via sigil on-swap effects)? Nope.

I haven’t received any LS credit for the runs I’ve made. If it is only good for top three, then the tip needs to be changed and I will give up. I’m really not very good at it.

Also, I’m on EU servers.

This sucks, I’ve done this a few times and still on 1/10, please fix.

• Placed #2, counter went up
• Placed #7, counter didn’t go up

The good news I found is that this achievement isn’t actually required. It does qualify for the meta achievement, but for the meta you can complete any 14 achievements in the list. I obtained most of the boss blitz achievements, on top of the sky crystal ones and others, and got the meta achievement reward for the festival of four winds, and still haven’t completed the Dedicated Sprinter achievement.

I placed last in one race and didn’t get credit. I placed second in another race and also didn’t get credit. Please fix this.

I’ve placed 5th (after a join in progress, but got a reward at the end chest) and 8th (during a complete race) and have had no progress on this achievement.

latest patch fixed it.
