Down the Hatch BROKEN (Personal Story, Whispers mission)
Bumping this thread, since I see that today’s game update didn’t fix this mission, which has apparently been completely broken since launch.

The person on the quest is a Sylvari.
On Monday Sept 24 we were ale to get into the quest as a party. We failed. After a few days away from the game we wanted to try it again tonight, Thursday Sept 27. It is no longer letting me into the instance with her.
I was finally able to complete this mission Wednesday night, and the only problem I encountered was Tybalt’s movement rate being still extremely slow. None of the other issues listed above manifested, and the mission was challenging but not impossible. I’d say they fixed it, but if you can’t enter the instance then that can’t be true. Maybe this is a per-instance intermittent thing where if your instance loads the bug then you’re screwed, but otherwise it’s fine except for that slowpoke Charr? Very strange.
This is still broken. I’m playing a human necromancer. I do the drinking game, follow the Charr and get the girl, kill all the bad pirates, and even kill the turrets, but it never completes. EVER. Please please fix this. I really want to continue my initiation in the Order of Whispers.
I tried to do the “Down the Hatch” quest today on my sylvari character and it won’t complete. After the drinking game, I killed all the pirates that were visible and 1 turret but the game tells me to defeat the the last pirates so that Demmi and Tybalt can escape. The already escaped, Tybalt says to meet them at the safehouse in Lion’s Arch. I did this quest 3x, same problem at the end.
I did this quest about 1.5 months ago with my ele and I didn’t have any problems. There was 1 pirate who got stuck up in the hill but I was able to find him and kill him to end the quest.
I just can’t get past the last group of pirates. The rate that those seadogs regenerate health is riduculous – esp when my two ‘friends’ in the quest are stopping in weird places and avoiding fights….
Can’t contine personal story until this gets fixed
3/13/2013, still broken. I managed to take out 2 pirates and 1 turret, but I’m down to fighting in my underwear and the last 2 pirates still have just insane regeneration. I’ve died many, many times trying to complete this. I’m a bit under level at 28, but still, they’re practically unkillable.
As of 4/11/13 still broken. Like others, I have rescued Demmi, she and Tybalt have fled the instance, and I killed every pirate after several attempts. The next waypoint is just outside the instance, and the mission will not progress. I even killed the fresh water crabs and wandered the pirate camp to see if there were enemies there. All I could find were the pirate NPCs where the drinking game took place. I just completed my second run through the mission, with the same results.

I just played through this, and didn’t see any of the issues mentioned in this thread. What’s your current objective? None of the pirates have any regeneration, so unless you’re trying to get them stuck on a prop so they’re leashing, I don’t see how they’re “unkillable.”
I did this with a friend a few days ago. Worked fine for us. Though I think people might be getting stuck on the mission end—you just run out of the instance area to end it. At least, that worked for us.
I encountered this bug today. I did it w/a friend. I am a Sylvari guardian. We killed all the pirates (not easy!) and then Tybalt said he’d meet me back at Lion’s Arch. The mission log up at the top right still said I needed to kill all the pirates. I assumed like a previous poster, that the turrets needed to go. Got rid of the turrets, it still said I had to kill all the pirates. Looked everywhere, found the NPC pirates but they could not be killed. Went back to the green star area, but there was no waypoint to get out and go back to Lion’s Arch. Looked at this thread and the person above me suggested just running out of the instance…well I did that…which caused my entire mission to reset. I am demoralized at this point.
I’m having the same problem. I killed all the stupid pirates. Everything I can kill, I killed! The big guy and the chick run away and I’m just left standing there. It’s the worst. I am never told to meet that guy at the tavern. I want to progress my story!
