Since the patch I have encountered several enemies which don’t appear to exist. Mainly I will see them, and can target them, but then when I go to attack, it says the target is too far away even tho it could be standing in front of me.

I will also see enemies vanish in front of me.

This doesn’t happen all the time, just every once in a while. But it doesn’t seem tied to a specific location. I’ve noticed this in Sparkfly Fen (specifically the bloated creepers at Teq don’t seem to be real), Harathi Hinterlands and Dredgehaunt Cliffs. The one at DC was especially bizarre as I saw branches sticking out of the snow moving along – but when selected it was a Veteran Pinesoul submerged under the snow. That one disappeared after a few seconds.

My best guest is enemy pathing is out of sync with what I’m actually seeing on my side vs server side? At least that is the best way I can describe it.

We tried both poobadoo and brekabek tonight. Poobadoo was spotted, then vanished… Brek did the same multiple times, but we were able to track his bear…

Was doing guild bounty and prisoner is bugged, it won’t activate no matter how many of us talked to it. It even stop providing any prompts after it enters the water.

We’ve chased down 2 separate Bounty NPCs (Brekkabekk and Poobadoo) and both have been behaving very strangely.
At first Brekkabekk was nowhere to be found, but Maully could be seen walking the normal path. Then Brekkabekk would appear briefly about 300 yards behind the bear, only to disappear again before we managed to engage him.
And we were 3 separate guilds looking for Poobadoo circling the map more than once before one group managed to spot him. Upon getting there he was not visible at all to me, then just appeared out of thin air when they engaged him.

My guild tried doing the Guild Bounty today.
We initially got Brekabek, we found him – inside a wall, once he left the wall he was walking his path in mid air, once he got back to solid ground, we couldn’t talk to him, the ‘Press f to talk’ (or whatever it is) comes up, but we can’t actually talk to him, so we couldn’t complete the mission.
We failed the mission and resarted, at which point he despawned. He was not in the map at all, even though we had seen him literally 20 seconds earlier.
We failed and restarted, then got trilia.
She seemed so annoyed about the ‘Wash the Pain Away!’ nerf that she walked through th earth, ignoring the terrain entirely, as described in

That thread.
When she reappeared, we couldn’t talk to her either, she was right next to us, and the option to ‘Press f to talk’ (or whatever) was there, it just didn’t do anything.

We failed and restarted, and got Brekabak again.
This time we found Maully (the bear that accompanies him) alone, without Brekabak next to him (he had clearly respawned in a new place, based upon where Breakakab was the first time we found him)
Since Brekabak and Maully always travel together, I don’t think the issue was the one described in that thread, or I think they would have glitch under the map together?

A Fail/Restart got us Poobadoo, who wasn’t in the map either, we did multiple circuits of his route with multiple people, but he wasn’t anywhere to be found, since I doubt he would bug underneath the ground under water, as that is a huge vertical drop, I assume he didn’t spawn as well.
We gave up at this point, I presume all bounty targets are bugged.
(We got Brekabak 3/5 times as well, poor us)

I used to like to scout in WvW before the participation changes.

something seams bug with the dolyack the graphic position of the dolyack and the real position of the dolyack does not match. you hit the dolyack it takes no damage you it 5 dolyack distance in front and you see damage being done.

notice this on the south west part of the ebg map. rogues camps to wildcreek and golenta to klovan.

not sure about the other one the dev could check it also just in case that it is more then 2 bug dolyack.

All the dolyaks in all the maps are “teleporting” . It looks like they are near the camp…but then they suddenly jump 1200-1600 distance away and continue walking… if you hit the ghost you won’t get numbers. This is occasionally happen for players too, and is causing confusion with some of the guardian marks and such that people should run into and get knocked over…instead, it’s like the mark doesn’t exist.

Hmm I saw one of the veteran trolls during night time Verdant Brink do the same. I guess it is the same bug? Actually isn’t this the same bug that has affected returning dolayks in WvW since the beginning of time?

We are tracking an issue right now where npcs on long paths can end up out of sync between the server and the game client. Some clients will see them in the right place, while others will not.

We ran into this last night with Tricksy Trekksa – the person who had the ‘real’ Moa on their screen said on TS they didn’t have permissions to start the bounty on the Talk prompt. As co-leader I had a ‘fake’ which wouldn’t respond to the Talk prompt. As a result, we had to give up on all bounties for the night.

We also had a couple of bounties spawn in mid air for some reason which was concerning. Yanonka’s rats also teleport to where you revive at a waypoint if you go down, if you guys weren’t aware of that bug already. It’s caused some people to die instantly on reviving which can be a real PITA if you’re nowhere near a repair anvil given the timer for Hard tier bounties.

Does that mean not before the next quaterly update? In that case the bounties should be removed from guild mission rotation until it’s fixed. We tried for ages with 4 different bounties and never even found one of them. We shouldn’t be given missions to do that we can’t complete.

The dolyaks have been super buggy since yesterday.

Sometimes I’ll see a dolyak moving along the road, but I won’t be able to interact with it [ghost dolyak!]. And the mini map will show the dolyak in a different location.

Other times, a dolyak would spawn from nowhere. Literally just crawl out of the ground in the middle of the road like some sort of demented hell-spawn dolyak and go on its merry way.

A moment ago I was chasing a dolyak from Faithleap Quarry towards bay, trying to prevent the enemy from upgrading “our” bay to T2. But when the dolyak reached the sentry between Garrison and bay it suddendly disappeared and on the minimap reappeared in Faithleap Quarry, then seemed to be walking right through the cliff (were the minotaurs are). After a few seconds it reappered right in front of the portal of bay…

My raid group noticed yesterday after the patch that the Wargs which chase after glenna in the escort mission of Stronghold of the Faithful have weird teleporting issues which makes it much harder to predict exactly where the warg really is. The warg coming from the front of the escort appears to teleport when it goes around some of the corners, and at one point its icon shows way at the end of the escort where it spawns, and then it teleports right back almost on top of glenna, which makes the event very frustrating. This did not happen before the recent Out of the Shadows update.

Same, today we tried Bounties but we couldn’t find any, Poobadoo, Brekkabek or Trillia Midwell…one of my guildie saw Brekkabek but he said he was going inside the ground and couldn’t interact with it so we had to give up.

As someone noted above, a temporary fix would be to remove bounties from the possibilities until you get it fixed.

Guild missions are very important to a lot of people in this game, even though they haven’t been updated in 3 years.

Greetings!

Currently we are working on a handful of issues right now where npcs on long paths can end up out of sync between the server and the game client. Some clients will see them in the right place, while others will not. This issue is affecting multiple areas in the game: such as dolyaks in wvw, guild bounty npcs, raid encounters, and the open world events we’ve been putting out the last few releases (to give a few examples).

As a work around for some of the issues: sometimes clients and the server will sync back up when the creature or npc in question is registered as hit, snared or interacted with. So if you see something and can’t hit it – sometimes if you run ahead of them a bit while swinging a sword and busting out some AoE you will tag them and the client will force update their location for you (unfortunately creatures requiring an interact to trigger fighting will not work).

Concerning a fix: any fix that touches so many parts of the game has to be made carefully (as when we rush fixes we sometimes introduce new issues that make things even worse for you guys). So I cannot give an ETA on a fix – the best I can give those encountering this is that we are still working on this issue and folks will be updated when more information is available.

I just tried doing some easy bounties with my guild and it seems like most of the targets are either missing completely or are somehow bugged.

First we couldn’t find Trillia Midwell, which in itself is kind of weird as she’s usually pretty easy to find. We abandoned the mission and started a new one – Brekkabek. We couldn’t find him either, but what we did find was his buddy Maully wandering around all by himself.
We tried a third target and got Poobadoo. After 5 minutes one of our guildies found him – but he was the only one able to see him. He tried talking to Poobadoo but couldn’t. At one point I thought I saw him and it looked like he was walking beneath the terrain. I only catched a glimpse of his Bounty marker though.

I already reported Brekkabek via the ingame /bug feature but figured I’d post on here as well.

Anyone else experienced similiar issues?!

1 hour ago, our guild played the bounty mission. When we found the bounty NPC and followed, he/she/it suddenly disappeared and cannot found again in that map. I cannot understand.

In addition, I asked other guilds, and told me they also just met this condition. Therefore, I wish that it can fix. Thanks.

It’s all the guild bounties at this time, from what I’m hearing. Trillia herself is running into rocks, only to reappear briefly and then disappear again. On the bright side, two of us found a workaround for the Trillia Midwell bounty (see the workaround post here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Guild-Bounty-WORK-AROUND-for-Trillia-Midwell).

While I enjoy the shiny new content, the Guild Hall has been my focus and epic quest this year (we are a small guild of primarily two people), and it is extremely disappointing to have our already meager mission options further curtailed by the current bug. Please seriously consider giving us alternate missions for this week and taking bounties out of rotation until they are repaired. The Guild Hall has stood in stead of ascended armor and legendary weapons for me, and this SNAFU is like hitting a wall in that final leg of a marathon. We acquired the hall New Year’s Eve, and we are level 61 with a fully completed treasury; I can see the finish line, but it has been moved further from my grasp.

Please seriously consider giving us alternate missions for this week and taking bounties out of rotation until they are repaired.

It’s a lot of work to create a way to remove bounties from the rotation (without any unintended consequences). In other words, we’d still be waiting (patiently or impatiently), so it’s better in the long run for ANet to focus on getting this fixed.

Can confirm, just tried doing BOTH Poobadoo and Brekkabek with the guild tonight. Very frustrating, many guilds were looking for them and they’re still bugged. Would be nice to at least get the bugged missions temporarily hidden until they’re fixed.

Tried two bounties tonight. the 5 target, could find and see only 1 of them, Yanonka.
Other bounty was 1 target bounty, Brekkabek, only his pet was visible, Brekka himself was not.

I am really disappointed that in a patch that focused on quality this bug occurred. You guys did a great job on the story, the quality of the new content in this patch is really good. But I can’t understand that a bug like this is in the patch. It influences so many aspects of the game. I assume solving it has the highest priority and a solution will be live very soon (in today).

We are currently working on putting out a fix that should fix some of the desync issues affecting the different game modes. This fix will address the issue where npcs and creatures were appearing in places they should not have been due to the desync.

Issues with the crazy spike damage seen by players, and issues seen in player vs player are still being investigated.

As a followup to the hotfix being officially out – the hotfix today will have addressed:

  • Guild Bounty targets
  • WvW Dolyaks
  • Wargs in Raid Wing 3
  • Creatures from the recently added events in the open world

Further investigative work will still be going on for:

  • Raid Wing 3 – Bosses are being invulnerable when they should not.
  • PvP – Player vs Player is seeing desyncing where players are not where they seem to be.
  • Open World – The icons indicating have been downed do not always appear where the downed player is – or remain on the player after they have been revived.

If folks encounter issues they suspect are caused by the desync issues we’re working on investigating, please let us know. Thank you all again!

while you are looking at the downstate icon, would it be possible to remove it from dead people in WvW while you are in combat ? it´s really annoying when you see the rezz icon run to him only to get the message you cant rezz while in combat
in bigger fights it is often not possible to see if someone is already dead or still in downstate
oh and while you are it please make rez traits combat only
as a guardian its useless to have your shieldrezbubble popup while you are out of combat going on cooldown so you will not have it ready for when you are infight again
