Still have dropped fps. Before patch had 30-60fps. Now 15-30 and get some freezes, when move a camera. Just can’t play
My hardware settings is:
ATI Radeon HD6470M
Intel Celeron B800 @ 1,5Ghz
2GB RAM
Before patch it was good on lowest settings.
I usually have around 30-60fps but when I logged in today, my fps became 10-17. It was completely fine just yesterday. I tried turning off the UI but it seems its not related to the UI. I also tried other games but it seems my fps seems to be fine there.
The patch didn’t work for me. Dropped from 40-50fps to 10-15fps. It’s certainly not fun, makes the game close to unplayable. Hiding the UI increases fps to 30 but still doesn’t go back to normal. Why did it work for you guys but not me? No fair.. :\
I’ve just returned to the game today after not playing for the past year or so.
Looked forward to playing and doing some PvP to find my FPS hovering around 18-23 FPS in towns or anywhere remotely busy. I can hit 40FPS out in the countryside where there isn’t so much clutter, but I still consider that low for my rig. I darn’t go near World v World.
Last time I played I ran GW2 with no issues at all on a less powerful machine. It’s really disappointing. I hope it is just temporary with due to recent patches.
I’ve lost about 10fps since the latest patch, and even before it wasn’t great. On the Frozen Maw I drop to 15fps, other World Bosses between 25fps & 45fps depending on which one and it’s just not fun playing at such low frame rates.
I’m running mostly low / medium settings on a high end rig so I shouldn’t have such massive drops, if there’s anything you can do to improve the performance, ANET, please do so.
I’m getting huge FPS drops which seem to happen whenever im close to an enemy player/npc (it drops from 70-60 to 30-20)… this has been happening since march 31’s patch.
I am sad to say I still have low FPS from the march 16th patch.
I have already worked my way through support and have done all the tests ect requested of me. The outcome:

I’m afraid to say that we’ve exhausted all possible troubleshooting steps for this issue and can see nothing that would explain why you are unable to get higher FPS that your system is clearly capable of handling. Hi, I’m experiencing this same fps drops, before that the game was fine, but now it plays ok then bam, fps lag spike for some secs, than back to normal, it’s really annoying…
I play on a notebook, i7 third generation, 6gb ram and gtx 740m. It’s not hardcore or anything, but can run stuff pretty well in general… And it did run GW2 pretty well, but not anymore. :/
This last two weeks it got worse and more frequent.
Can we please get an official word about the frame rate drop since the 31st patch? Dropping 15 – 20fps over night has made world bosses a little choppy to very choppy.
At this time it looks as though we’ve gone through all possible troubleshooting steps in investigating this issue and unfortunately we’re unable to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue. After the last patch this issue should have been resolved as we have been investigating this issue on our end, and I can only advise contributing to this thread in regards to the issue as this issue was being looking into by one of our lead programmers:

Pre March 31st patch I was averaging 90 – 110fps. Last night I was getting fps drops in the low 20’s
My FPS issue got fixed in the patch, but I have noticed whenever my FOV gets automatically adjusted after porting into a new map I get the same FPS drop as pre-patch until it has finished adjusting. Could be related.
Just wanted to toss in my weight to the mix. Same problem.
Decent to high-end rig, used to pulling 40-50fps in T1 WvW zergs (on performance settings), and now I’m down to 20fps every time the enemy is on my screen… I turn away and the fps spikes back up to silky smooth.
Sounds like maybe your CPU is overheating and throttling. I would load up HWInfo, Coretemp, or some Temp monitoring Program and see if your Temps spike up to 90C+ when your FPS drops like that.
Only just discovered this thread, I’ve been wondering for some time why my fps went from 70-100 down to 20-30 (and <10 on Teq unless I turn model limit to low)
I’ve just stumbled into this problem. I’ve only been playing Guild Wars 2 for a couple of weeks but I’ve had no issues. Usually running at 70 FPS even on world bosses. Then today I update the new patch and now 20 FPS even when staring at the floor without a soul around. Typical when I have time off work! Come on guys, what is going on?!

yea. I dropped (again) in FPS shortly after the day when the pvp beta map was open. The last 2 days I’ve been playing the highest I got was 14 FPS, I normally get a modest upper 30s FPS for running med-high graphic settings.
Granted this was fixed for a time, but it seems to be back with vengeance

ok, I thought, maybe by chance that a repair would fix it, nope.
here’s screen show within the character screen… that means no other players or even a map to load and it’s still horrible FPS. Never changed my settings from last week when I was running just fine with 30-40 while, even with Jormag zerg (although sound was acting funny that the time).

If it doesn’t work, then just type razer cortex on google and it should bring it up. It’s a free program that boosts games, etc

To the player that recommended some help. There was a little improvement, but just a tad. I forgot to get new screenshots, but after the actions of the following:
I repaired GW2.exe
I defrag my computer
I installed the program (razer whatever)
and I found something very interesting. When I did the razor boost, and popped open the game, the character selection screen showed the FPS over 60. Which was so so sweet. But then my heart was dashed once I loaded up in a map with no running world boss and only mildly populated…. dropped to 10-17 FPS. I tried other maps as well. Same thing.
Conclusion: It’s not my computer, it’s not my settings. It’s the update from whenever last time (guess that would be when they removed that pvp beta map, that’s when I first noticed it). It’s only been acting like this the last few days. It was perfectly fine last week.

I’ve had this problem for a month now, since the beginning of this thread. Atm the only solution I’ve found is to check your disk for errors (I wouldn’t dare to defrag an SSD..), For me, it makes the game normal for one launch. (although changing maps in game can bring the problem back)
The cause of bad fps is 99% GPU usage in game. The character selection doesn’t make unusual load, though. Maybe there’s a memory leak or a bad loop, I don’t know, but it’s been a month since I could last enjoy the game normally.

Do you overclock your CPU? and what model is it?
Try reseating your GPU. Looks like you’re getting x1 bus interface even under load when it should be x16. That’s probably the issue.
FPS drop from 60 to 50~30 at lowest graphic settings.
Laptop Specs: CPU Intel i7-4710MQ @ 2.50 GHz, RAM 16 GB, GPU GeForce GTX 860M (driver version 350.12 – latest), OS Windows 7.
Already tried to repair GW2 and installed latest GPU driver version, but still have FPS issue. Previously I am able to get mostly 60 FPS (I set frame limiter to 60).

I used to play at high at 35-60fps, my problem come after i updated driver nvidia. it dropped the fps till 15-20 even at low just got 20-30 fps. I still can play well if i downgrade my driver nvidia. but still it feels abnormal to me
