My brother and I have been doing all of our missions together. Today after completing a lavel 30 mission Kellach's Attack. with him it skipped me right to a level 48 Mission Forewarned is Forearmed.. His storyline is still fine but i really want the xp and items from the missions I skipped over. Has anyone else had this problem? My Characters name is Tbröther

I hope this problem can be fixed. It is alot of missed story and Xp

EXACTLY the same thing happened to me!
I was playing with my brother and I automatically skipped from a level 30 quest to a level 48 quest. Tried to do the instance with him thinking it might revert back, also tried re-logging in, still nothing.

yes me and my gf had the same problem on the asura side.

When did it happen to you? It just happened to us today about and hr ago.

it happened about 30-40 minutes ago. mine is fine, hers is messed up

I have the same problem, after chosing the order from my boyfriend storyline, mine jumped right to “On red alert” (asura), level 48.

Hope they fix this, I want to experience all the story plus the xp and rewards…

Hopefully it can be fixed or it will take us a while to catch back up. haha

It’s not the end of the world if it can’t be fixed for our characters. I just want to know if this is going to effect anything else in the game. Such as achievements and stuff.

its not the end of the world, but its anoying not being able to see the options you could have taken, not to mention the rewards.

Ya, that’s true, its a total of seven missions that got skipped I believe. Hopefully it doesn’t hinder us from fishing the game. I just don’t want to have to start over, that’s what I’m more concerned about.

This happened to me tonight too. We were on the same steps last night. My friend had already done a step or two without me when I logged in. I am on the level 48 quest. I don’t want to skip the storyline and xp either.

My Charr Warrior had the same thing happen. My wife’s Charr Guardian picked up the next stage fine but my Warrior was bumped up to the level 48 quest.

The same thing happened with me. I just finished the lvl 30 mission Stealing Secrets, and it jumped to a lvl 48 mission called Suspicious Activity. I’m trying to do this with my boyfriend, and we went through with the mission (since it was fine on his) but it didn’t allow me to advance. I hope this gets fixed, because I’d like to continue.

I have also had this happen to me. I am a Norn Warrior and my friend is a Norn Guardian.

I went from the level 30 quest to the level 48 quest; Forearmed is Forewarned. My character name is Odin Thunderstorm and my friends name is Ulfric Thunderstorm.

Our plan is to wait, and maybe finish a couple of maps before we decide to continue with that option though. We’re just hoping this gets fixed soon. We’ve been having a blast with this game so far and have really had no real complaints, so even if this doesn’t end up resolved on my end, I can still experience the storyline from assisting him up to my stage.

We are going to do the same thing Merk finish a few worlds and hopfuly it gets fixed in a day or two

My biggest concern is that the quest-line won’t be able to be rolled back.

Could we please get an official response on this? Just to let us know whether or not to wait. It seems like this could be a serious bug.

Same exact thing happened to me tonight as everyone else. Me and my gf were logging in, and I noticed my personal story quest skipped 18 levels. Hers did not skip it is still level 30. We are both Humans. I remember traveling to Lions Arch through Divinitys reach portal and then noticing the personal story was different. Dont know if that has anything to do with it. Any help would be appreciated, can someone at Anet confirm this bug please?

Yes! This is the exact same way mine changed, however, I was traveling to Lions Arch through Hoelbrak.

Same thing happened to me today, ME and my girlfriend are at the quest stealing secrets (asura quest lvl 30) and now it skipped to a lvl 48 quest called suspicious activity for me, I hope this will be fixed soon, it would be really lame to have to wait untill that quest to get the rewards and there is probably achievements and stuff linked to the completion of the main quests.

My main concern that it will mess up the whole story. I can live without doing the quests.

Same thing happened to my husband and I. Both playing Norn rangers — my quest is fine, his skipped ahead to lvl 48. Really don’t want to miss out on the story inbetween so we’ll have to shelve the quests till this is fixed.

Just happened to me and my girlfriend a couple hours ago too! Playing the quests together and BAM! She ended up on a level 48 quest. I laughed and told her to just log off and try again but lo and behold nothing worked.

It sounds like this just happened to everyone tonight? I would like a response to so we know if we should wait for the problem to be fixed or if everyone needs to start over. Other than that the game is awesome and it alot of fun to play.

I played with a friend yesterday. His Quest is fine, mine got skipped to lvl 48

The same thing happened to me tonight as well. It seems like the common thread between all of us is that we were doing our personal story with someone else along, and our stories skipped to level 48 despite different starting points for the skip. Interestingly enough, I was going through this with my brother and the last quest we completed was within my personal story. We both got credit for the completion but upon exiting the instance his story progressed normally whereas mine had skipped to level 48.

Just skipped from “Kellach’s Attack” to “Forewarned is Forearmed.”

Please fix this.

I have just finished the human starting story and joined the order of whispers i listened to the quest where all the races come together and disagree then my next quest was a level 48 quest that i had done nothing to lead up to ect. please help ? i was enjoying the story …….

after I completed Kellach’s Attack, a level 28 quest, with a buddy the thing bugged and it skipped all the quests after that to the Forewarned is forearmed a level 48 quest.

This is my identical situation. I can’t get quest rewards either for each completed step (as it’s no longer on my storyline, but it is on my boyfriends).

Character name is Saff.

I had just joined the Vigil, and my quest were at lvl 30(I had just completed “Kellach’s Attack”, I was lvl 37, human warrior) They referred to me as recruit.

I was about to enter Lion’s Arch to continue with my quest, but once the loading screen was done the quest suddenly jumped to lvl 48, sending me off in a totally different direction.
I went to the new direction which was Vigil Keep, the quest: “Forewarned is Forearmed” (Report to Vigil Keep for new orders (lvl48))
Once inside they spoiled some of the story for me(Which had proceeded for 18 levels without me doing anything), referred to me as crusador, and promoted me to Warmaster(?).

I am leveling with a friend, he did not have the same issue (He’s the same race, and have taken the same choices as me)

This really sucks, and has made me less motivated to keep on playing… Which is really sad because I’ve been oozing with motivation the last weeks.

hope that it gets sorted out my story quest on my thief only skipped like 2 quest in the 30 area’s but was sorted out by support. So I’m sure they will fix it.

Well it’s not a call for attention, but it really troubles me. The last few weeks I’ve been really hyped about playing, but after what happened last night, I woke up today not really wanting to play at all.
I want to play the game, and I want to enjoy it. Of all the mmo’s I’ve played I have not had this much fun continuously ever, so it’d be sad if I lost the will to play for my own part. (They wouldn’t care if they lost one player either, so)

This happened to me last night as well except on the Priory side (humans). From the start I’ve been doing the personal story with my boyfriend who has the same story as me. When we teleported to a waypoint in Lion’s Arch my personal story suddenly skipped straight to the level 48 quest; “On Red Alert”. His story is fine so we went through that in the hope it would fix mine but it didn’t.

I wish we could get a simple “we are looking into it” from some official source here on the forum, this seems to be happening to a lot of people, not only the ones that are posting it.

I really hope they do look into it, this doesnt seems like a minor bug like it did yesterday.

Just had this happen to me, Kellach’s attack to Forewarned is Forearmed. It was well after their emergency patch so i don’t think that had anything to do with it.

Has something to do with doing it co-op maybe?

Same problem here, also skipped to forewarned&forearmed after doing some co-ops (the quest I actually had to do before was called minister defence I think)

Yep, same thing happened to me.. my story has the following listing

Test Subject (OK)
A Meeting of the Minds (OK)
On Red Alert (NOK)

This got triggered after I was secondary character in the same questline as my gf.

After triggering the first waypoint in Loins arch my questline jumped to “On Red Alert”. My gf’s questline was OK.

Hope they notice this soon, too scared to play right now

Same thing happened to my Human guardian. Was grouped with my friend’s Mesmer on the same quest… After completing “The Trap” it skipped right to “Suspicious Activity” a level 48 quest. I am lvl 30. Heres hoping for a fix and rollback to this. It’s rather frustrating.

happened to me last night as well. i went from divinity to lions arch after finally doing enough to get level 30 with my fiancee and the storyline jumps. hers is fine but is messing up in other areas, like not displaying guild emblem, and it was after midnight and was so tired and mad that i just restarted to try and fix it and when it didnt i just logged off. is there any updates on why its happening? with this many posting, theres not a dev monitoring? ive counted 4 different threads pertaining to this

I was playing as asura engineer and joined the order of whispers, after that it gave me a lvl 48 mission named suspicious activity, sooo WTF it should’ve been the lvl 30 mission where I go to lions arch to have the meeting with destinys edge
