I’m getting the guild chat bug, tried un-repping/repping changing guilds and dropping, nothings working :/ Please fix.

I’m also getting the bug. Tried logging out and going back in, unrepping then repping again, got kicked and reinvited, and tried the whole going invisible and then going online again, but nothing works.

Had this happen to someone trying to join a guild I was in, It seems that if its your 5th guild that you are joining the chat bug happens. They had to leave a guild they were in forever to be able to talk to a new guild they have joined..

So it seems the 5th guild you are invited too causes the bug to happen. The solution was to leave one of the 4 other guilds and get re invited and that seems to fix it

This is what you have to do. I have 4 guilds, the 5th one is my personal stash guild. I left all 4 guilds, gave my friend Leader to my personal stash guild and left it. Got reinvited to all 4 guilds again and my personal stash guild.

The last guild you join is the bug guild, therefore, I joined all the 4 guilds i had people in and my personal guild i joined last.

Now i can talk in all the guilds with people in it and my personal guild i cant talk (buged). but i dont care bc im the only one in that guild.

It really stinks that you have to do that, but its the last guild you join that is bugged. If only ANET WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE INTRODUCING HOT that would be awesome. I FEEL SORRY FOR THE NEW PEOPLE JOINING and PLAYING for the 1st time.

ANET COME ON NOW.. ITS 1 1/2 MONTHS NOW.. fix it

Still waiting for a red response, I have done all of the work around, I left all the guilds and my personal guild. but no dice. So anytime now anet. I just love really game breaking bugs. I will keep posting to keep this thread alive, because many of my new guild mates are kittened and confused by this bug. They believe they are being left out from missions and other events.

Good job anet for your lack of response and enjoy your exspansion. I am not buying till this bug gets fixed. Because whats the point of a guild if your playing alone. I mean I know im just one person but at this point its the principle.

I tried everything even leaving all my guilds (btw i only have 3 and guild chat only works on one so the fifth guild thing is not accurate). Just please Anet fix this soon because it’s ruining the game for me :/

just for the record, since others were saying it’s only happening when having full guild lists, my member I invited had only 1 other guild. So I don’t think that’s the underlying issue. It might be something exasperating the problem, but I don’t think that’s what is causing it. I also tried inviting another tonight and same thing happened and he had 3 guilds. Just putting this up for record purposes, should this thread ever get looked at by some tech devs.

Besides using these forums, keep emailing them with your personal email Ive written them 18 emails and got the response “Please be patient this problem is more complex, they are working on the situation, continue to check the forums.”

Anet im tired of checking the forums because there is no response from ANYONE by checking the forums.

We all are on page 8 now with the same complaint and the same problem, how many more pages do we need to get satisfaction, Yes im getting advertisements on my facebook for HoT."

I agree, it’s incredibly frustrating. Also quite frustrating to see a patch today with this issue still not addressed. Support emails are vague, stating “soon” it will be addressed but that the issue is complex and no ETA can be provided. My first support email sent a lengthy explanation of how to solve the issues with my minis (huh? umm, no), the second suggested fixes I clearly stated in the initial email that I had already tried, and the third essentially said that support can be of no assistance as this is a dev issue. They suggested we continue to watch and post in the forums, as apparently “developers read the forums daily.”

SO. Devs? Hi. Returning player here, pretty new to the game period. A very frustrated lady. I’ve quit and rejoined the two guilds I have (note, not fifth slot), invis’ed on and off a dozen times, logged, left the app off while invisible and guildless for two hours, changed the order of the guilds, asked to be invited to random guilds to add to the mix, swapped characters and factors of all the above, I’ve tried everything.

As my old guild from when I first started to play disbanded, I’m pretty much just wandering around solo at this point. I’m also not certain there’s any incentive for me to continue playing, if a development issue can linger for months on end and not be properly addressed.

Since the airplane patch released april 1st, guild chat no longer works. I’m not alone and have recently found out it is the same for others in my guild. We can’t communicate as a whole and if it wasn’t for our guild leader playing middle man between us that are isolated, we’d never be a part of anything.

I’ve sent my ticket in and watched the idiocy of replies. Every two days I get an automated email asking me if the situation is resolved and that if I do not reply, they will assume it is. With an email chain over 28 messages long, you think they will get confused? The answer: Yes.

Now I’m getting asked questions I’ve already answered as the GM’s aren’t bothering to read the whole chain anymore, asking me to try things I’ve stated that I’ve done in my very first message. As a result I’ve asked them to delay the automated 2 day message and they can’t even do that to help themselves.

I was really hopeful that the big patch today would fix guild chat but nope. I’m still following the GM’s directions and watching the forums for an update. Such actions fill me with hope since I have yet to see one Anet Dev comment on the issue which I know has gone on for well over a month when considering other’s cases.

Anet is not going to fix this issue and it makes me very sad. The community is what MAKES this game and no matter how many costumes and gimmicks you put up, they will never outweigh the importance of guild chat.

Players participate in content because of guild chat, because other’s incise them in or just let them know what’s going on. Its because of that you can make money off players in the game, so think things through here.

Essentially I can’t do anything in game until guild chat is fixed and it royally sucks.

Seems to be a rather weird issue.
It was fixed for most people after the first patch.
With the patch after that a bunch of other also had it fixed, and today some of my guildies got it fixed as well.

Sorry for the frustrations, can be really annoying when there is a bug that is not wide spread since it will take longer to find and will seem more like its something on the user side.

My guild encountered this issue when it first appeared but the patches along the way removed the issue. I hate to propose a band-aid but its that or keep waiting. Just some thoughts:

Have you tried:

• Invisible/visible?
• Leave guild/rejoin?
• Changing guild rank?
• Remove old chat tab and create new one?
• Do you get any messages when posting?
• Is there any pattern to the people that can/can’t see the text?
• Can people see each other’s text while partied up? Does guild chat work then?
• Is anyone using a customized chat options or the default?
• Is this issue in just one guild or all guilds that you/they are part of?
• Are there any chat options off in the chat tab(s) with the issue?
• Are any other chat options impacted? say/party/map/whisper….

Hope they can get it resolved for you, you are quite corrected not being able to chat in an MMO defeats the point and ruins the social experience.

• Changing guild rank? Nope, actually yes. So that’s a yes to that, we have active and non-active rank system in guild.
• Remove old chat tab and create new one? Yes

• Can people see each other’s text while partied up? Does guild chat work then? Party, local, Map and Team all work. Only guild chat is affected.

No, it is not fixed for me.

Couple of my guildies fixed this issue by leaving all of their guilds and then rejoining them.

OMG! It’s fixed! I was in disbelief when I saw yellow text in my guild chat. I thought I had broke the game (or fixed it, I guess?) somehow lol. I even logged out and back in several times just to see if it was a fluke.

Thank you, Devs, for fixing this issue. I realize a lot of people might have said some very bad things out of frustration, but hopefully this will be put behind us. It’s so nice to be able to talk to my friends and Guild community again. I feel like I just got something rare unlocked on my game. XD

I looked through your posts to see what you’ve said you’ve tried. You say you’ve tried going Away/online, but did you try invisible/online.

You’ve not mentioned what the error message you’re getting is on the forums either. I realize you’re frustrated but folks here can’t try to help you without knowing what your particular error message is.

Never had this bug before, but during last few days I can’t chat or see chats from others in my guild. I am a member in two guilds (one being my personal stash). Tried everything and nothing helped so far…

I just got this bug lat night- is there any work around?

Same for me, seems to happen after i went invisible :/
