First of all, sorry for my english

Since HoT launched i have experienced low fps problems, especially in HoT areas but also in core game areas. until now i`d get 40-60 fps and now i get 6 fps in hot areas and about 20 fps in core game. this problem started after i upgraded to windows 10 so i think that can also be a problem, although GW2 is the only game in which i encounter this problem.

i have tried to reinstall all my drivers and delete local.dat file from Appdata and it solved my problem for some time, but it reapeared recently.

my pc components are: ASRock 960GM-VGS3 FX, Amd fx 6300, 4 gb ram and amd HD6670. my temps are good and with this pc i managed to play recent games without a problem.

Have you updated your chipset and video drivers to 15.7 yet? If not, this should resolve some issues. Also, if you are running 64 bit Windows 10, you may want to increase your RAM.

First off, always check for driver updates. Next, check to see if you are running a 64-bit or 32-bit operating system (Start > Settings > System > About). If you are running 64-bit, ensure that you are using the new 64-bit client (instructions to download here: http://dulfy.net/2015/11/04/gw2-64-bit-client-now-available/). Finally, try toning down shadows, reflections, character model limit, character model quality, and the environment settings in your game settings menu. I have noticed that these make the largest changes in my performance, without sacrificing on the overall appearance of the game.

EDIT: One last tip… Windows 10 likes to take up way too much disk space which can affect your PC’s performance. Go to Start > Settings > System > Notifications & actions, then turn “Show me tips about Windows” off.

Are you running the game with the same video settings as you
did before you upgraded to W10?
Sounds like a GPU memory bottleneck.
The new maps require more from your GPU than the old ones.
If the specs I read are correct,HD6670 has 1GB of memory.
Try lowering the video settings and/or the resolution.
RAM wise,I don’t think you can run the 64bit client on just
4GBs of RAM without slowing everything down. The client alone
will consume more than that from time to time, let alone the OS
and any other processes that might be running in the background.
Definitely use the 32 bit client.

You have to realize that until a week ago i was able TO PLAY THIS GAME PERFECTLY so it isn`t a gpu problem nor a memory one. and it seems that i`m not the only one with this problem.

anet support is incompetent, didn`t helped me at all.

I had the same issue and today I fixed it, by refreshing the cpu cooling paste! From 4-11 fps, now I get 90 fps at high settings.

soon I will upload a video as well (already uploading)… here is my topic also…

This is possible.

To OP, everyone here (including the Anet staff, if you contacted support) is trying to help you.

Try downloading this to check the temps your PC is running at – even if it isn’t the direct cause of your problems, it is always good to keep your PC clean and running cool: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

i`ve changed my cooling paste two months ago, i don`t think that is the problem, what were your temps until now?

today i cleaned my gpu from dust, changed my ram slot and reconnect every component in my pc and somehow it worked, now i can play as before, with 40-50 fps, i don`t know how much it will last, though. it can also be from the patch that lauched today, the raid patch.
