My female human runs as she always has, nothing like the male human I have.

Well, my female ele certainly doesn’t run like she used to.

Yes, after the last patch females adopted the male running animation. I will report it as bug after every single patch unitl it’s fixed.

I’m with you Envy, I’ll report it as a bug every time I log onto my human female character until it is fixed.
I did notice that my engineer was running different, but i wasn’t sure. When you have a kit she runs like male characters, but when you have a stowed rifle, she used to run like any other female human, now she is running the same way as with kits.
I prefer the new animation. I don’t care for a “jog down the runway”. My engi is ready for action.

I see your argument as being invalid and this is the last thing I’ll say about it. Everyone has his own aesthetics and I know we both see ourselves as righteous in this matter. Back to the topic, I still hope that a dev will comment on it and put an end to all the “It’s wrong/It’s right”, “I like the current one/I want the old one back” etc And untill this happens I will keep reporting it as a bug.

I prefer the old animation. Im sure they could of fixed any clipping issues while maintaining the same general animation if they really tried. If not, then screw a few clipping problems. Id rather have the better animation, which was fine for clipping most of the time.

I’ve figured along with certain sylvari armor bugs, with them not being as bright or female asuran sound bugs; this is just one of those that may be fixed next patch.
It would be nice to choose between animations or this just to be fixed/ read by a DEV atleast.
Candy corn tonics have a female gait regardless of who uses it. I wouldn’t call that a bug.
My mesmer looks absurd when she runs now the gait is so stiff, out of all the things to change why this? I sincrely hope it is a bug because the change is for the worse imo.
Any videos of the old animation? I’m not seeing a change, but I don’t have any female chars that have seen more than level 2.
I don’t have a video but I noticed it really when I was in AC P3 explore; I was on my warrior who is a human female. The part where you’re turned into ghosts to follow the ghost npcs to kill Colossus- the runs were entirely different from human to ghost, when I know for a fact they used to be the same. That’s when I reported it as a bug; Screens won’t do any justice- what’s really the difference you’ll notice is now from then: Then, female humans arms swayed when they ran, was nice & feminine & distinguishable. As a female myself I appreciated it. Now: Their arms raise higher when they run almost like they’re sprinting but not really moving that fast & looks abit silly.
Hopefully this will get a response soon – For my asura’s weird sounds I just turned my GW2 volume down as well & still check to see if she still makes the weird noise & report that as a sound bug

I was told it was a bug by someone at support, who claimed they asked the development team for me (at my request). If they are making fixes to 2-handed sword clipping issues while we run, rather than just reverting the animation change back, I can only surmise I was lied to.
If it’s not a bug, why isn’t it in the patch notes? Why don’t they tell us ‘why’ it was changed? If it was intentional, and merely some sort of ‘values’ change, I’d like to know that so I can make other entertainment arrangements.
It was working for 13+ months in one manner, and it was changed, for no apparent game functioning related reason, with no indication as to why.

That’s not the point.
The point is to report it as a bug, as there was no indication of the change as intentional in any patch note.
If the change is intentional, then please provide information as to why, after 13+ months, the change was made, be it the resolution of a long standing game breaking bug that has eluded them for over a year, and was finally tracked to the human female running animation, or a quiet enforcement of a set of values on the community, again, after 13+ months or working just fine.
I’m personally willing to drop the whole thing and move on my merry way with an official response from the company one way or the other. I find it completely unacceptable to have this change and no reason behind it.
Without a statement, it is a bug, and should be fixed.
yeah the running animation seems off and i dont think it was intended to be this way. i have not seen anyone complaining about the previous animation so anet felt like they had to change it. i personally dont like the new style as it makes my character look a little awkward.
