Today before reset, I didn’t get the daily reward chest. (I didn’t get to see any of the new fancy dialogues either – neither the “advent calendar” nor the daily achievements.)

No, I had not logged in at any point during the day before the patch update – in fact, I hadn’t logged in for a week.

I would, but there is no “Area” / “Subarea” categories that fit, and it won’t let me send the bug report without selecting those.

I had the same happen too…no log in bonus after the new updates happened..
I did get one hours later though when an update happened and the reset happened for the day.

Yeah, I got the second bonus (after reset today) and also saw the new dialogues. According to the advent calendar my logging in before reset did in fact count (it was greyed out and I am now on “day two”) but as I said, I didn’t get the chest to go with that.

Nobody should be on day two, right? I mean, I played last night, logged in after the patch today and did my dailies, and then logged in after the reset today, but it was only after the reset that I got my “day one” login reward. I’d hate to think that I’m permanently behind on the system because of some bug.

Yesterday I already logged in before the patch. Patch hit, I update and log in again. No login bonus. A friend of mine only logged in after the patch, and she did get a login bonus…

Is this intended? If so why are people being punnished for loging in before the patch?

:( I have the same problem i logged in the morning and at night after the update, all my friends were able to get it except me….. its just unfair!

Add me to the list. I only got a log in bonus as Tequatl arrived. I believe I should’ve received one at 4PM PDT (1h before daily reset, If Google didn’t deceive me), which I didn’t.

Also didn’t receive it yesterday (16th). Got my first today morning (17th).
Was logged in when the patch came.

Same here. Do not get reward UI on login or in game. Did not get any reward for the 16th or for today. This is quite annoying.

Same issue here I think. I just got the day 1 chest after reset, but I had already logged in on the 16th before and after the patch. I assumed this was intended until reading this forum lol.

Ditto. I reported this in game under the most relevant thing I could find, (item behavior??), but that’s still not really relevant.

I also didn’t get the reward for the first day after the patch. I was online before the patch kicked in, so I guess that could be the issue..?

I got my first reward just now, what should actually be the 2nd already.

Neither did I. I also made a support ticket, but the response I got told me to make a bug report.

I still want my reward thoug. :/

I also did not receive the login reward for yesterday (Tues 16th Dec) but my wife did. Humph!

Same for me, I usually play past 00:00am GMT, and that happened on 15th →16th, no login when I came on after 4:00 pm later on, I got my 1st chest on 17th at 00:00, and it said I only got the 1st day only. And I know I was on 16th since i got the 11/11 on 16th… and I have a screenshot of the minipet skritt thing I got on 16th. I am also a Day behind by this fact, and am sad because this would have been a nice change since i come on every day. but now I am as I say, a day behind, so people shall get things before the people including myself this was bugged for.

As you can see in my screenshot, I received the 17th day chest, at 00:00, and the calendar shows only day 1 unlocked, HOWEVER I am infact in Tixx’s Infinirarium with 3 friends meaning that I could not base don times get into the area from not loggin on at all, and only logging on at 00:00 to enter the instance and complete it withing 1 minute, it infact took us like an hour to do so.

Just to be clear.. I’ll try to adjust to this PST timezone here… >.<
Patch dropped like 10:00 am dec 16. Rewards for log-in was released.
If I did log in too early, between 4:00 p.m. december 15 and 10:00 a.m december 16 – I’ll be punished and not get the first chest.

How does that even make sense?

EXACTLY!, why should we not get our 1st day chest for playing long durations past the time limit or for logging in befor eothers, I suggest that anet just make it so everyone receives their 3rd calendar reward on the 18th, SUGGEST meaning it does not have to be this way, but it may help because then everyone would be at the same point, and I hope this doesn’t happen again, should I just take a picture of each day I play gw2 incase of a discrepancy? xD

my way is still a bug because I did not receive my log in at all on ther 16th, I logged out after 4:00 pm 15th, and did not get my log in reward past the 4:00pm time on 16th or at all on the 16th, and it didn’t count me as having been on the 16th despite me having witnesses and screenshots proving my existence on the 16th< it was bugged for me, and I do hope that it will be fixed.

Edit: I should make a point that I did not log out until like 02:00 am or later on the 16th ( from the 15th), making it a very weird predicament for me since I was bother after 4:00 pm, but also on the day the patch came out, yet it didn’t count as me playing AT ALL on that day, my calendar literally only gave me recognition on the 17th at 00:00 am (all GMT), either way regarding times, I did not at all receive a daily log in reward on the 16th, ONLY on the 17th at 00:00 when daily reset.

What I would like to know, is the following. I’m in Europe, so I will use my timezone (GMT +1). The patch came live at 18:00 here, daily reset is at 01:00. Will a player who has only logged in on the 16th between this timeframe, and today after reset be on day 2 of the rewards?
And are players who logged in before and after the patch on day 1 (like I am because of this).

If so players like me who have logged in before and after 18:00 on the 16th are being punished for playing more, and that seems a bit unfair to me while the whole point of this system is rewarding loyalty. If not, then all is fine by me.

So just to clarify, players that played the game the night before the patch, and then played the game after the patch, should always be a day behind every other player on the log-in rotation, for reasons?

I can confirm these parameters for my situation. I should be on daily 2 going on 3, instead of 1 going on 2 (at the time of posting).

Something seems off about this daily log-in. I got my first reward at yesterdays reset. I logged on a few times today before the daily reset, i just got on 5 minutes ago after daily reset. So i should of got the second reward. Do we have to be on at 6:59/11:59(server time) to get our reward the next minute? so far i’m not liking this new daily log-in system..

Neither am I, although I now have definitive proof I was on during 16th,17th and 18th because I have the wintersday gift tree in my home instance, meaning that I needed to be on for 3 days in a row, since this is the 3rd day, I should have it however I only have my 2nd login reward! again I have PROOF via a screenshot and confirmation of the date

First of all I want to take my case in account. I was logged on since early on 16th, hours before the patch came live. They the patch hit and I was wondering about the log-in reward. Then someone said about that on patch notes and from my calculations I saw I was expected to receive it at 4pm PDT on 16th (12am GMT, in fact, when reset hit). At that moment I got the reward and it said day 1. HOWEVER, hours later I heard about people saying they were on day 2. It has puzzled me as a lot others here.

Alright, that was my case and it happened, saying I’m on day 1…

Now this is confusing… does it mean that it applies to someone who haven’t been in game between before 4pm on 15th and after 4pm on 16th? What if they logged in before 4pm on 16th but AFTER the patch came out (10am PDT/5pm GMT)? Would they get the reward?

Ok, let’s create a few situations to analyze this:

1) Someone was in game but logged out BEFORE 4pm PDT on 15th and only logged in until AFTER 4pm PDT on 16th. Would they receive it AFTER 4pm PDT on 16th or immediately and what day would it be?

2) Someone was in game but logged out BEFORE 4pm PDT on 15th then logged in AFTER patch at 10am PDT but BEFORE 4pm PDT on 16th. Would they receive it AFTER 4pm PDT on 16th or immediately and what day would it be?

3) Someone logged out anytime AFTER 4pm PDT on 15th and then logged in on 16th BEFORE the patch (10am PDT), relogged after patch and stayed in game until AFTER 4pm PDT on 16th? Would they receive it AFTER 4pm PDT on 16th or immediately and what day would it be? (<— my case)

I hope I can clarify something with these situations.

Anyhow, no matter what times people logged in, if someone is on day 1 and logged on at the same time with others on day 2, it sounds like something is wrong huh?

My case was I logged on after 4:00pm 15th dec, stayed on until like 02:00 am 16th, then logged out, I logged back on after 4:00 pm 16th no daily yet my friend who had logge dout before 00:00 am got a day 1 (( all this is GMT), in PDT I am unsure the times but I assume 4 hours behind? 4 pm ther eis 8pm here? anyway). then at 00:00 ( entering the 17th) I got the day 1 chest where others got day 2 chest, and same for today day 3, wher ei got day 2. HOWEVER Itr seems the game does recognize me on at all during the 16th since that is not only no loot but also on the calendar that popped up, only 2 of the days were recognized one ( day 1 ) darkened, and one (day 2) lit. but I wa son 16th because I did the thing that took 3 days to get. 16 → 17→ 18 = 3 days ( technically, 16th being 1st, 17th beign 2nd, 18th beign 3rd)

So to put it succinctly, people who were playing the game during a normal gameplay window on the West Coast on Monday got penalized. People who didn’t play during a normal West Coast gameplay window prior to the next day’s patch are now 1 day ahead in their calendar.

How exactly can Arenanet rationalize this kind of distribution model? I get that if you played in Prime Time on Monday, you might have gotten an extra daily done prior to patching. However, you’ve reset dalies and monthlies prior to this, with no warning, and did nothing with regard to how players were impacted.

I think you need to go back and revert anyone who has been logged in for the last three days, so that everyone has 3 days’ of login rewards, regardless of your “special distribution model.” You’ve caused a lot of hard feelings and confusion among your playerbase, for no real gain whatsoever.

She said most, but in your case, you (as Gaile responded) should submit an in-game Bug report, and I imagine you could submit a request to the CS Team, explaining you did not meet the criteria for receiving your 1st reward after reset on patch day.

Just give the reward to everybody that was logged on the 15th after the patch. Why do you do such things ? You just complicate the thing for no purpose. It only creates frustration for people, like me, who just play the game every day. And now people doesn’t get their rewards even if they complete all the stupid conditions. And think about the new players : they logged in and they didn’t get the reward for logging in… It’s really confusing ! :o

Or, at least, can you give us the reason instead of spamming the patch note ?

I honestly don’t see any reason for not getting a daily login reward if you were indeed online every day.

I was online before as well as after the patch that day but didn’t get a reward. I got my first “daily” reward a day after the patch and therefore am behind one day compared to people who were online less than me (just because they happened to not be online before the patch)…

Regardless of how irrelevant the rewards might be, I would define it as a bug, if a daily reward is not handed out on a daily basis. But maybe that’s just my logic…?

My initial understanding when reading the patch notes regarding the login rewards was that, for whatever technical reason, folks who hadn’t been online for that stated timeframe would be lucky enough to get the 1st daily login reward early (right after patch), and then folks who had been playing in that pre-patch timeframe would then get their 1st daily login reward after the daily reset, where then the players who had received their 1st reward early would then NOT get another upon that reset, so all players would be on the same footing from then on out.

Apparently I (and many others) misunderstood. I would have stayed away from the game for a day if I had known it would perpetually put me behind in this new rewards system.

My S.O. is definitely a day ahead of me in regards to rewards, and has been since the main patch on the 16th. Bit frustrating to say the least.

I don’t think there is anything to fix – it worked fine from the second day on.

I don’t expect ANet will send me the first bonus chest via special delivery…
