I lost three characters in area crashes
By “asked support”, do you mean in the Tech Support Forum, the Account Issues Forum or through the Support Ticket system?
The “stuck character” issue is one of a few issues that only Support can resolve.

I filed a ticket a day or two ago and I was told to post in forums. but thanks for the reply, I’ll try there.
The post I linked has Gaile instructing another player with a stuck character to file a support ticket as that is the only way to resolve the issue of a character being stuck and unable to be logged into.
Did they mention anything in your support ticket about it not being something they can resolve, and that it is actually a local hardware or software issue on your end?
If this is actually a hardware or software issue, then I suppose this should be moved to the Tech Support forum. (moderator, would you please?)
I can only think that they determined that it was actually related to a graphics driver issue, a damaged client issue, or something else.
Well, let’s start off with info gathering:
- When your game crashes, do you get an Error Code? If so, what is it?
- What is your Graphics Card Brand/Model (ex. AMD Radeon HD 5750)
- What driver version are you currently using for your Graphics Card and have you recently updated this driver?
- What Windows version/bit are you running? (ex. Windows 7, 64-bit)
- Would you please attach your ArenaNet.log file to a response comment, this is your crash log. (found at “C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Guild Wars 2”)

yep its a error message and I copy the details text and sent it to them and I was told to post in the forums…so its counted as technical right?
It’s possible the map on your copy of the game got bugged out somehow. Try repairing and seeing if that solves the issue?
I would try if i could maybe login when guesting on another server.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
The OP posted this same thread into Tech Support and their problem was resolved there. Repairing their client fixed the issue.
