I just wanted to bring it to the attention of the developers there is currently a BIG BUG which allows people to get 39 HoM near instantly. I dont want to give specifics in case people try and abuse it, but will be happy to provide more info if contacted. Being a long time guild wars player I found this upsetting and hope to see anet roll back peoples accounts.

If they don’t revert this asap i’ll be very mad…
I worked so hard in GW1 to get GWAMM, now everyone got it for no effort spent?

They only ever had One gw1 rollback (due to an exploit lost a weeks progress)- I tHink this one needs rolling back sooner rather than later.

Put the servers on freeze – rollback and boom.. Big apology – but at least it would fix this issue.

It’s only the title and achievement points, it’s not like people are getting the HoM skins which is what really matters.

my guildy got a zap from SW 1hr after patch so hes praying fro no rollback.

Only because the game crashes when using the portal stone. I am sure you could buy them if you could enter the HoM. And the titles from GW1 are the best titles of the game even almost 3 years in. So its a very big deal.

People are not getting the HoM skins because HoM is magically unaccessable as another byproduct of the latest patch. There’s a big chance that if the problem was left unattended and access to Hall of Monuments restablished, people would be able to get these skins anyway.

I think this absolutely calls for a rollback as the only alternative I can see is banning people. Which would be a disaster given how many innocent people would get caught in the crossfire. The bug is so easily triggered I cannot imagine anything but a rollback happening.

They need to stop the glitch from working, and then visiting all cases one by one. Its the only ‘TRUE END’ to this.

Wish this didnt happen midway to the expansion. They might be overrun with work already.

I think the keeping the integrity of the game and long term achievements is more important than a few lucky drops.
But maybe Anet can write some kind of script to fix the achievements (similar to bugged black lion collections), but I suggest disabling the hall of monuments portal stone until then, to prevent people to unlock the skins.

It should be rolled back, for sure, at the very least. People are knowingly exploiting this.
I mean, how many of us COULD do it, but won’t because we know its wrong, and our accounts are worth more than a cheap title.

I’ll feel pretty upset as a GW1 player if anyone can get the title and items while all the older players busted butt for em.

I was making characters over and over before (previewing Revenant armor on different races) when around daily reset, I received the daily chest and another chest. I was surprised to see I had a new achievement chest (wasn’t sure how).

I didn’t think anything of it at first, too busy previewing after all, but decided to check my hero tab later to see what I had just finished. Very confused to see GWAMM thrown in there- and yes it can be displayed :/

Hoping it all gets sorted out soon without disrupting anyone’s progress too much.

They don’t have to do a rollback to fix issues with HoM or achievement points/titles.

Well. It took me like 5000 hours in GW1 to achieve GWAMM….. so…. uhm…. not reverting this bug would get me kinda mad…. yup :/

I tested this and didn’t happen the first time, but made another character and did it again. If they do a rollback better sure as hell get my money from gems I just purchased.

This needs fixing. I hope anet realises just how bad it would be if people would get the gw1 titles and the points for free. Just no.

I don’t know if anet devs understand the gravity of this situation. This has to be fixed, titles given out have to be removed and AP as well. Preferably right now.

The only rollback I remember was when the material merchants somehow had some sort of reset and people bought ecto for 100g each. (100g was a lot less money in GW1 for non GW1 players)

As for this, a rollback may not be necessary. They’ve shown they can take AP away with the wrongly rewarded BLTC skin collections. Though it took them months to do it. Hopefully this won’t be the same. A lot of people, including myself, worked very hard for GWAMM and those AP points.

Ahhh so that’s why I suddenly got like 400 AP for no reason lol I honestly don’t mind a rollback on my account, but I better get my gems back that I had just purchased, otherwise I’d be pretty darn ticked.

Some people got it just for making characters and completing the tutorial, without doing anything sketchy. On a day when they released a patch with new Black Lion weapon skins and key farming is common. They shouldn’t ban people over it because they’re going to catch a LOT of people who were just key farming for a shadow weapon in the process.

Nobody should be banned, the whole title/AP thing just has to be removed for those who got it this way. That’s it, no bans or lost gems due to rollback.

I use the HoM stone to have a safe place to idle where I can go right back to where I was. So I’m a bit miffed that I can’t use the HoM. I’ve had over 30/50 before HoM rewards were even announced.

You can use the pvp lobby for the same thing now, just use the exit lobby option in the pvp menu to return to where you entered from.

Lol wow. I didn’t get anything it looks like when I go through the tutorial level with a new a char in the last half hour, so guess it has been fixed. Man this patch has been so screw up.

Would be nice to have a red post confirm that they have rolled back the achievements and especially the titles for those who got them.

Typical ANet, they screw something up big time and then keep silent about it hoping it would go away.

It has to be fixed. I know they don’t care about it but it’s a terrible business practice to kitten off your loyal customers.

Fixed? No, at this moment bug still here. After few key runs i get titles and AP. It was after last micro patch.

So it is random? I only made one character after the patch so I thought it was fixed.

I’ve tried 4-5 times now and haven’t gotten it. Everyone is saying it’s fixed except Incognito.

If it’s too difficult to do this on a case by case basis, perhaps it would be possible to remove all HoM achievements/titles earnt since the patch? Then anyone who has legitimately linked GW1 accounts/earnt more points can contact support to get these reinstated (surely this would be a small minority of players).

Let the real GWAMMs have their title – as it stands it’s worthless to everyone else now that anyone can get it.

Some people may have crossed thresholds where they got achievement chests, they may have already spent the laurels, karma, gold, perhaps even gems, used some of the items or put some on the TP

You can’t take those back, and if you take the points away, you allow them to earn a second achievement chest.

IMO, let the achievement points stay, and add them as daily achievement points (eventually they will cap out on those anyway), and remove the title.

This avoids them earning a second chest at that achievement level, while still taking away the prestige title. Getting an achievement chest early is probably the least amount of damage done in the long run.

But really, if you try to futz with AP and reward chests, you are opening a can of worms.

Either people are going to get 2 chests for the same AP level, doubling up on currencies from the reward, or you’re going to be trying to reclaim laurels, karma, gold, gems, gemstore items, etc that are already spent. That’s going to be a mess. They may never be able to fix that adequately. Rolling back someone’s account completely may be another mess because people will have spent money for gems for total makeover kits and black lion keys, and the backup may be from far enough back as to be unjust for someone who’s only crime would have been to not be keeping track of their AP and making a new character.

Dw about me, I spend more time on forum than playing the game for now. Usually I just finish some PVP daily and do some WvW then I log off because there’s nothing much to work for anymore :P (except grinding money, which I’m not interested in it)
My hour spent in GW2 is just about 5k hr, which is by no means high compare to many people that I saw. (some even got like 10k hrs..) It’s just opportunity cost. I sacrificed the time I could be grinding money into AP related stuffs, that’s all.

Did you pay attention to what I was talking about? if the AP’s are taken, they’ll get them back (probably through dailies) in 5-40 days, and get a second reward chest. Say they hit the 10000 AP chest with this bug. They got 400 gems, laurels, 30 gold, a bunch of karma, total makeover kit, an instant level 20 scroll, all sorts of things. They then spent that 30g, the laurels, the gems, etc. You set them back to 9600 AP, in 40 days, They’ll get that 30 gold, 400 gems, 10 laurels all over again.

No, I mean taking something extremely minor and non competitive as something competitive just because it has a leaderboard.

If you need to compete over THAT, you need to get out more.

Surely it’s not impossible because AP revert happened to salvaging before. (now is capped, it used to be unlimited)
