Issue with Razer mouse
Oh well this explains a lot. I thought I was losing my mind. It doesn’t happen often for me, but when it did it was like what the… and I have a Razer Naga. Even with this and knowing why it happens I wouldn’t give up the mouse. <3 too much. I have had some driver issues with it before though, and was in contact with Razer support over it, although the issues I used to have weren’t with the Naga itself, but something with windows that I now forget what. I would try contacting them. They will have you do some silly steps, but be sure to say it’s with Guild Wars 2 to help them realize it’s not just a few people with the problem (I think Razer should concentrate less on making driver updates for WoW and the mouse and more on making it work better with everything else). Perhaps they can do a fix in the drivers. I don’t think it would be easy to fix from the game.
Had this problem for a long time. Don’t expect a response or a fix. It may start working properly again in the next patch and then stop again with the patch afterwards. Really your only options are to get a new mouse or quit playing GW2.
I quit for the better part of a year and played other games until my naga finally died. I now play again on a logitech g600.

A number of us in guild have Razer Nagas and we have rarely had this issue. I had it bad for a few days, and I think I may have allowed the mouse drivers to update at that time, little to no issues really since. Probably was a month ago?
I mean, this explains some of the quirks we’ve seen, but the mouse is too nice for this to make me not play or to get a new mouse. So it gets me killed once or twice in wvw. I pretty much shrug, pout for a second that my stacks are gone, and go on about playing.
The pausing , now that I remembered that was the issue, I had over a year ago was close to enough for me to get mad at the mouse, but I was able to fix it after talking to Razer support and researching it online for days (some issue with the whole dotnet thing, Windows, and Razer drivers)
It is likely more of a coincidence that a gw2 patch makes any difference with the behavior of a specific mouse, since you know, the drivers are all that gw2 actually sees or cares about(actually it’s more of gw2 sees Directx but anyways…). Otherwise, it should behave pretty much the same way any other mouse does.
Look at this thread and tell me people didn’t try everything they could

It’s not a Razer problem. I’ve had this happening since release and I have never used a Razer mouse. My Logitech G600 is the only mouse I’ve used with this game.
I don’t think it’s related to the mouse itself at all, because when this happens I’ve also seen the mouse cursor is “escape” the game in fullscreen. Normally, GW2 (and most games) will confine the mouse to whatever monitor(s) the game is being displayed on in fullscreen mode. If you happen to press any mouse button, or try re-pressing the right button, after the cursor has escaped the game window the game will lose focus and minimize. Of course, this particular aspect of the issue is limited to those with multiple monitors.

You should all convert to razer deathadder. Gone through 3 of these mice over the years and never had any problems. Only replaced because side mouse buttons got completely worn out. :P
Sounds like a mouse issue not a game issue. So theres nothing anet can do.
Not a mouse issue, the mouse can work fine for every other game except gw2. The problem will come and go with new updates. It’s a gw2 issue that had been going on since the game was released.

It seems very unlikely that it’s caused by the mouse or its driver/software. The cursor being confined to the monitor the game is displayed on is a function of the game itself. It should not be possible for the mouse to leave the game/monitor without first minimizing, alt-tabbing, or otherwise removing focus from the game. I have also not seen either of these issues with any other game.

So now it does affect other mice as well? Then yes that is a different issue being described now.
What I had seen, it is an issue that I cannot reproduce, it is a very rare, random occurrence. Or perhaps I have already gotten used to working around it, I don’t know. Of course, I also do not play in full screen, so perhaps that also makes a difference? Anyways, what I said before was based on what was said here, and what I saw in that thread. This arguing is getting no where, and this thread is less relevant since it says the issue is only with Razer mice, when others are also saying it is not limited to one type.

It happens with several brands. The only thing they have in common is the problem occurs with a gaming mouse. Look through the almost 2 year old thread I linked earlier.

I still get instances of a held right button mysteriously unclicking itself when not playing fullscreen. It’s just that when I am playing in fullscreen, that issue has occurred along with the unclicking. I don’t play fullscreen as often as I used to, so I can’t be 100% that issue exists in the current build, but I know the initial right button issue is still there whether in fullscreen or windowed mode.

Bump. Has gotten worse this patch.
Definitely NOT confined to the Razor… quit GW for over a year due to the crazy mouse problem described here. Occasionally logging on and off provided a temporary fix but changing to alternate mice did not seem to clean up the problem. I am playing on a MAC, wonder if that is a common thread as my MAC using uncle has the same problem.
