Guild Wars 2

Hi there.

No matter how often i finish episode 4 of the Living World Season 2, the grey star will not be removed.
I have done all the achievements as well.

Every other Episode says “You have completed this episode and all associated achievements.”

I know it’s nothing gamebreaking but it kinda annoys me :/

Same here for me – i replayed some older living-story-episodes and when the new arrived, i just started the new one.
So all old episodes have this “bug(?)”, well i’ve done all achivements so far, i guess it must be so.

I have these grey stars all over my completed chapters; I assumed that the last 3 most recently active ones stay marked?

I have finished them once and i reactivated them to do those achivements, tho i haven’t finished the 2nd time. (in the middle of these i started the newer episodes, so that might be the reason, yes)

Yeah. My problem is that even if i finish the episode the grey star won’t go away :/

Do we have an answer on why this is happening and how to fix it? A further problem is when you replay any other episode you are told progress won’t be saved.

It would be nice if it worked like that, but it’s not. Any episode i activate now will not get this star, even if i abandon it halfway. Episode with it will not lose the star even when finished properly. And regardless of star or not, if i switch to a different episode in the middle of the previous one, when i return i do need to start over from the very beginning anyway.

Just wanted to bump this because it’s surprisingly annoying.

I got the same poblem :/. Done the episode 6. Tangled Paths once alone and then after that I tried to do it with my friend and yet it is still a grey star. I have done all sthe steps that story was thelling me to do, read the mail and recieved the chests. Imo episode is completed but for some reason it still is a grey star. So annoying!

Just a quick update to add my own comments:
- Doing the episodes on the first character in chronological order gave no problems
- Doing it on the 2nd character in non-chronological order gave this bug on Episode 1, but replaying the episode fixed it
- Doing it on the 3rd character in non-chronological order gave this bug on Episode 3, but replaying it (either through Continue This Episode or Replay This Episode) does not fix it

Did your problems occur when playing the episodes in non-chronological order?

PS. Yes, this is surprisingly annoying.

Can an Anet rep please move this thread to the Bugs section?

Got the same problem with episode 5 “Echoes of the past”.
In the sub sections of the story page I got all green arrows,
got all the completion loot,and the chapter appears to be
finished.
There is also a the continue episode button active.
I’ve only played the episodes once,and haven’t done any of
the achievements.

I did some further investigation when doing the LW S2 on my 5th character.
I noticed that the problem starts occuring when you are on the last quest within a given episode. In the hero panel the game shows as if you’re on the first quest of that episode while you are actually on the last quest.
See my screenshot, the Hero panel shows that I am on “Party Politics” while I am actually on “The World Summit”.
I have no idea what the trigger is for this bug, but so far I have only had it occur on episodes 1, 3 and 4 (spread over various characters).

Edited the Topic for better visibility. Thanks to Phobia for this suggestion.

I’ve found a workaround for the problem:
- Switch to Season 1 History Lesson.
- Complete the History Lesson.
- Go back to LW S2 and use “Replay this episode”, replaying it should remove the grey star. NEVER use “Continue story” or “Continue this episode” cause that keeps the episode in bugged mode.

Since Season 1 History Lesson is not replayable its a bit tricky.

Only thing i can think of is to complete all challenges again on the character you need it on. Even if you have unlocked all achievements for them and done season 2 100% totally.

I do agree, this is a annoying issue.

EDIT: Never mind, i just did another episode then replayed (like Phobia said in the post above me) the episode i had issues with and now its fixed.
